"I guess I understand why Cinderella never got drunk at that ball."

"I've been trying to keep those cakes into my stomach for the last half hour."

"And man, does it suck."

"Carter? Are you there?"

"Guess not... Well, it's already past midnight, so that's understandable."

"Well, this is just going to make it easier for me, then."

"You see, I wanted to tell you something for a long time..."

"I even inserted some hints here and there, which, quite frankly, I thought were über obvious, but no matter."

"Here is the real, unfiltered part."

"DISCLAIMER: The unfiltered part is directly brought to you by the spiked punch I drank tonight."

"Anyway, I'm just gonna text it quickly and turn off my Wi-Fi and lock back my phone before I get the chance to re-read it and lose all the progress I made with those cakes."

"I like you, Carter. And before you question, no, not in a brotherly way. Not in a friendly way, not in a parently way (is that even a word?), not in any other platonic or family-like way or anything of that sort."

"I like you like the way Zeus liked Hera. Wait, this is not a good comparison since these two were also brothers. Oh, well. Something else then."

"I like you the way Amy liked Sheldon. The way Ross liked Rachel. The way everyone likes everyone when they're in a relationship. The way someone likes someone when they're crushing on them."

"That's the way I like you."

"And I'm afraid that the way I like you isn't the way you like me. I know that. But I'm still willing to humiliate myself."

"Oh, and how am I going to humiliate myself when you're gonna read this."

"And somehow, I'm still doing this."

"For you."

"And here come those cakes. I'm gonna turn off my Wi-Fi now and thank God I managed to sound eloquent through these texts."
