Witch
Donovan allowed his boys to slip out.
He knew what they were going to do and he just didn't care. Justice for Delilah and their baby, hell even Brett at that point, was necessary.
The officers didn't even notice when they left, but Brett did and he didn't flinch.
"Miranda... Brett?" Delilah felt defeated, betrayed even.
"I'd no clue. I want you, Delilah, but you're not mine anymore and you never will be. I'd never stoop to this level, not when you mean the world to me. I was so stupid... I never should have been that kind of man... Hell, I shouldn't even call myself a man with how I treated you."
"That's why she hates me? Because you still love me?"
Donavan's rage was going to boil over. Not the way Delilah was gazing at her ex, but the way Brett was ogling her. He loved her, he'd never stopped..
Delilah hadn't even the slightest clue that her ex felt that way, not with how he'd treated her.
"Tell me about her, Brett. I deserve to know."
Brett took a deep breath as the officers kept their distance, but took notes.
"I've never loved her. She was just a drunken fuck to me... one that I regret. She told me if I married her it would look better to the judge, but I never wanted that. She kept saying she had shit on me and I'd lose any rights to my kids and I'd... I'd never see you again. Miranda found out quickly that I didn't care for her. I've never hurt her, except for leading her on, I guess. She, -"
"She hurt you.."
Brett lowered his head,"I did it so I could see my kids, but I had no idea that she'd do this. I got my karma. She beat the shit out of me... especially when.. when I..."
"What?"
Brett sighed,"I said your name in bed. Can we not discuss that anymore?"
Donovan grunted,"The only reason I believe you is because you were in the van."
"Well, we just got word the brake lines were cut. You pushing down on the brakes after a high speed probably pushed you over the embankment," Taylor said, "No sign of Miranda. Any idea where she would be?"
Brett shook his head, "I don't."
"We're manning this corridor and the kids will be coming in here with you," Taylor said as Delilah's mother and father, Dean and Dawn and the kids ambled into the room.
The kids were so astonished by their mother's state that even Isaiah burst into tears.
"Mom.."
"You'd better find her," Donovan warned the cops,"I know who's already looking. "
"Oh, Miranda, baby! Don't you remember how much you wanted me at Bucky's?" Bryce teased as they followed Miranda into an abandoned farmhouse,"You packing, Miranda? I got people out here, you psycho bitch twat."
Cooper shook his head,"Psycho bitch twat? Come on, man. Be better."
Jason chuckled, his Kevlar vest itching.
"I kinda liked it. I might use it the next time we go hunting."
"Dad doesn't like it when you call it that," Cooper insisted.
"Shut up, assholes. You wanna get shot?"
Les and his team were scouring the woods and perimeter while the Dixon boys were gaining traction on their target.
"Miranda..." Bryce taunted, "Now, why would you go off and hurt Miss Delilah like that when she'd never hurt a fly."
"Hell, the stupid bitch almost killed her own fiance so what do you expect?" Jason scoffed, pulling his Glock from the holster.
"They're very much alive, Miranda.. just so you know and we've got evidence that you tampered with the car. You're going to jail anyway so give yourself up now before you piss me off even more!" Jason demanded as he saw something out of the corner of his eye.
"He wasn't supposed to be in that car with that whore!" Miranda screamed,"He should have loved me!! It should have been me his heart desired!!"
"Hit the deck!" Cooper yelled as shots rang out around them.
"Shit! She's shooting at us!" Jason said, crawling behind a hay bale.
"Shoot back, dumbass!" Bryce unloaded his weapon into the area where the shooting was coming from until there was nothing but silence.
Cooper had also emptied his and Jason had one bullet left.
"We're as good as sitting ducks if, -"
Miranda stood up and smiled at the boys, not one scratch on her.
"Missed me."

The coroner's report stated that Miranda Evans died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The woman who owned the barn said kids would come out all the time to shoot their pistols and revolvers in her barn and she didn't care.
She even went so far as to say she heard the shooting, but thought it was simply teenagers having fun.
Les and his crew were never in Salem that night, according to all of their alibis in Boston.
Marion was sentenced to five years for vehicular assault while the man she was with was so drunk that night that he had no clue who he'd picked up at the bar in his red Tahoe.
He was not charged.
"Look at you!" Millie gushed as Delilah twirled around in their dress shop, her little baby bump finally showing after six months.
"You are stunning in this one!"
"Should I show my.. tummy or wear a sash?"
Bridget laughed, "You'd better show off what that hunka hunka man put inside you. Jesus I need a beer or a good lay or a Dom to pick me up at a bar."
"Two weeks until the big day. Are you ever going to tell us what you're having and how good the sex is now?"
Delilah shrugged and smiled, her back to them as she pulled out the pink onesie.
A gasp of excitement filled the room when Delilah showed off the garment.
"We're having a precious, little princess!"
