Flights
"Mommy, I'm scared," Olivia curled up into her mother's arms as the plane hit mild turbulence.
"You'll be just fine," Delilah whispered as she pulled a blanket over her daughter, "Want me to sing you a song?"
Olivia nodded as Delilah began to sing a lullaby that she made up off the top of her head.
Eventually, her daughter simply fell asleep in Delilah's arms.
Donovan had watched from a distance, settling in on the other side of the plane for a conference call. He hadn't wanted to interrupt he and Delilah's cuddling, but the timing of the call and Olivia's needing her mother blended.
"Is she alright?"
Donovan whispered as he settled in to the seat next to his queen. Even in the most modest of clothing, Delilah was absolutely breathtaking to the dom.
"Oh, yes, she's just fine. First time flying..."
"And you?"
"I'm alright because you're here, Donnie."
Donovan leaned in and kissed Delilah on the cheek.
"My security team is setting everything up for us and I've already booked the rooms," Donovan smiled,"And if you're wondering, I have tried my best to schedule in all of the things you highlighted in the travel guide."
Delilah gasped, "Donnie! I highlighted so many things!"
"And we have two weeks," Donovan said, "And adjoining hotel rooms."
"The kids will be safe?"
"The kids will be more than safe," Donovan reassured her,"I've got ties with the Embassy because I worked on their construction issues. We'll still have our time, but plenty of time with these little angels."
"Thank you for everything, Donnie," Delilah said, "You've done so much for us already."
"I want to give you the world, Del. That's a promise I intend to keep. You said that Brett was less than thrilled?"
Delilah shrugged, shifting Olivia slightly,"He's their dad so I totally understood him not wanting them to go out of the country without him or simply with another man. We spoke with him together, as a family, and the kids begged him to say yes so he caved. I'd be a little more than wary about my kids going to a foreign country without me, but I'm their mom and he couldn't really say no."
Donovan nodded,"He does love them. I can understand how he feels. Even though Melanie and I had a very amicable divorce and custody proceedings, I wasn't happy when she took the boys to Greece the first year we weren't a family any longer."
"Wow," Delilah chimed,"She didn't wait long it seems."
Donovan laughed,"Well, I can't put all the blame on her. It was our anniversary package that we'd saved for. I just said take my half and put it in for the boys."
"Oh, my goodness... I don't even think Brett remembered our last anniversary," Delilah thought, "No, I lied. He gave me a necklace that I pawned."
"You pawned?"
"He got it for Miranda who doesn't like pearls. I found this out through one of his work buddies who was on my team."
"That's awful, Del. Do the kids know the full extent of all that happened?"
"Bea and Isaiah do. That breaks me sometimes, but it's one reason they've lifted their voices against their father at times. He's good to them, though, but... "
"Miranda's an odd one."
Olivia roused and wiped her eyes, "Miss Miranda's always going out and leaving Daddy at home."
"Does Daddy ever hurt Miss Miranda, honey?"
Olivia shook her head and shimmied off her mother's lap,"No, but Daddy's always sad."
Donovan looked at Delilah as confusion spread across her face.
"Daddy's sad?"
"Daddy's sad, but Miss Miranda is always angry. She doesn't want Daddy to talk to you."
Delilah hugged Olivia before she scrambled off to play with her siblings.
"You know.. this just keeps getting weirder," Delilah shook her head "I'm not even sure what to believe, but Ollie thinks if you lie your nose grows like Pinocchio thanks to her brother."
Donovan chuckled, "Some days I'm happy I was an only child. My parents would have loved you, Del."
"They raised a good man," Delilah placed her head on Donovan's shoulder and melted into him, "I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you."
Donovan kissed her forehead, "Oh that's definitely going to happen."
"The kids have already decided they want to do the water parks and eat the entire time we're there," Delilah laughed,"They don't know about thr hotel yet."
Donovan hadn't told Delilah half the stuff he had planned for them, especially the late nights he planned on filling her up in more ways than one.
"Jesse is really good at keeping an eye on kids," Donovan whispered into her ear as he pointed to a woman in his flight crew and entourage,"Wanna sneak off to the back while she entertains the littles with lunch and a movie up front?"
Delilah smiled,"Would that make me a bad mom?"
Donovan frowned, "Delilah, you are so loved by these kids. They'll be quite alright. The older ones might catch on to what's happening, but if we're just... taking a nap..."
Delilah blushed,"I fell for that when my parents would go make love and leave me with Dawn. She told me that our parents worked so hard to make us happy that they deserved to get happy."
"Yes, you do.." Donovan motioned for Jesse and the kind woman was happy to oblige, gathering the kids and making their way up to the front.
"Be good!" Delilah called, "Have fun, my loves!"
Enticing them with treats, both Delilah and Donovan laughed at Jesse's bribery.
"Oh, they won't need us for a while, my queen.." Donovan took Delilah by the hand and led her to the bedroom at the back of the luxury jet, passing some of the crew along the way.
"What are you planning on going to be, Mr. Dixon?"
Delilah watched as Donovan tossed his shoes off and then his slacks, eyeing his red haired queen up and down.
"You're definitely overdressed for what I have in mind.."
