Chapter 17
Taehyung giggled as he blindfolded Jungkook with a cloth and sat him in the passenger seat. The younger male frowned, "Why do I have to wear this?"
"It's a surprise!" He sang, situating himself in the drivers seat.
It was about an hour drive once Taehyung had reached his destination. He smiled widely, glancing to his side.
Jungkook had fallen asleep and his head was tilted forward, mouth slightly ajar. Taehyung chuckled as he unbuckled himself and exited his vehicle.
He than ran over to the passenger side, opening the door and pecking the younger's cheek. "Good morning sunshine," he cooed.
Jungkook giggled as he raised his hand to remove the blindfold but Taehyung stopped him. "No, not yet!"
"Why? Where are we?" The younger male pouted. "I don't like surprises."
"Just follow me."
Taehyung helped guide Jungkook out of the vehicle, grabbing something from the back seat, the taking Jungkook's hand in his, as they walked down a pathway.
He laughed loudly when he watched how funny Jungkook seemed to walk without vision. "Don't you trust me? Walk properly."
"Yah! You try walking around with your eyes blindfolded!" The younger retorted. "Are we there yet?"
"Almost." Taehyung reassured.
Jungkook gripped tightly around the older's arm as he linked them, allowing him to walk easily. As they walked further, he suddenly heard trickling of water and the soft breeze rustling the leaves.
"Are you taking me into a forest or something? Are you going to kill me?" He joked.
"Just a couple more steps," Taehyung instructed.
He helped Jungkook step up onto a platform before standing him on the side. Jungkook listened as there were sounds of things being placed. He heard footsteps approach him.
"Okay, take it off."
The younger reached behind to untie it, but struggled. "Why did you tie this too tight? It's in a knot!"
"Aish! Way to kill the mood," Taehyung chuckled as he helped to untie the blindfold. "Shoot, hold on."
"Tae!"
"I got it, I got it. Don't worry," the older chuckled.
After much struggle, he finally got the knot undone and removed it from Jungkook's eyes. "Hello."
"It's me," Jungkook sang as he giggled.
Jungkook then looked over his hyung's shoulder and gasped at the sight. They were beside a pond in a small traditional pavilion. In the center of the pavilion was a picnic blanket, set up with Korean dishes with a large container on the side, which he guessed that Taehyung had carried with the food inside.
"You did all of this?"
"Do you like it?" Taehyung asked. "My brother sort of helped me cook these last night."
"I love it." Jungkook replied, pecking the older's lips. "Thank you."
--
The couple ate their meal while rambling on about everything and anything. There was never a moment where they didn't have something to talk about.
"So how did you find this place?"
"Oh," Taehyung shrugged. "My mom use to bring me here. Now, it's sort of like my getaway. You know, like a place of escape."
Jungkook nodded in understanding as he scanned around. "It's beautiful here."
"Here, come!" Taehyung helped the younger male up as he ran to the end of the pavilion, picking up a small pocket knife on the ground. "I left this here last time I came with my mom. We carved our names on the side here."
He showed Jungkook the writing. Taehyung then gestured the younger over to an open space. "Let's write our names together!"
"Okay!" Jungkook agreed.
The two wrote their names, along with a small message underneath.
Kim Taehyung <3 Jeon Jungkook
- my forever –
- my eternity –
They giggled at their little messages before returning to their meal. When they were finished, the couple packed up the leftovers and strolled around the garden grounds, before leaving for Sea World.
There, they met up with their friends near the gift shop. Namjoon notified Jungkook that his parents had arrived earlier and are currently walking around the park along with Taehyung's dad.
"I don't get why we're here in the first place. We work here every damn day. Lets go do something else," Yoongi complained.
"Where do you suggest we go?" Hosoek questioned. "Namsan Tower?"
"Namsan Tower!" Jin cheered. "It's been a long time since I've gone there. And we have a new couple now, so I think it's a perfect time to go!"
Jungkook nodded in agreement, tugging on Taehyung's arm excitedly. "Can we? I've always wanted to do a couple lock!"
"Why not?" Taehyung smiled. "Lets go!"
They all got into their designated vehicles as they followed one another towards the tower. When they arrived, they paid for their tickets and waited in line to board the cart that took them up the mountain.
Jungkook dismissed himself to the bathroom, leaving the others in line. Taehyung took this opportunity to confront his friends.
"Okay, who did it?" He glared. "Whose ass am I kicking?"
Jin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"Jungkook's best friend is here and someone here talked to him and told him to come here." Taehyung explained. "In fact, he's someone we use to bully a long time ago and hate."
"Who?" Yoongi questioned. "I hate everyone."
"Chanyeol. The one that punched Hoseok in the stomach and Jin choked in the hospital."
"I remember him!" Jin growled. "Still can't believe he rejected my cooking."
Jimin bit his lip, looking over at Hoseok worridly. Taehyung noticed this and stepped closer. "Jimin, do you have something to say?"
"I—I—"
"It was me Tae." Hoseok blurted. "I was the one who called him."
Taehyung gritted his teeth together as he growled at the older male. Without warning, he punched Hoseok across the face. Yoongi and Namjoon charged to hold Taehyung back while the other two rushed to aid Jhope.
Jin bowed apologetically to the people in line, reassuring them that everything is fine. Yoongi cackled. "Yeah, this is normal. Okay, sure."
Taehyungs shook off Namjoon as he fixed himself, stating that he's calm. Hoseok sighed, touching his cheek. "I won't fight you Tae. I know I deserved that."
"Hell yeah you did! Why did you do it? Huh?" He growled. "Answer me!"
"Because I was jealous, okay?!" Hoseok defended. "Jungkook suddenly comes along and you forget who was there your entire life! I've loved you for a long time and this new kid pops up and steals you away from me! Do you know how much that hurt me?"
Taehyung sighed, grabbing ahold of Hoseok by his shoulders and looked sadly into his friend's eyes. "I'm sorry if I hurt you that much," he spoke. "I'm sorry I didn't realize your feelings for me, but this needs to end."
"Why not me?" Hoseok cried. "Why him? Why did you have to fall in love with him?"
"I'm sorry Hopie," Taehyung replied. "But my heart has already decided."
Hoseok sniffed as he wiped away his tears. Taehyung frowned, hugging his friend tightly. "Please, don't cry. We have a special relationship, don't we?"
Jhope nodded, pulling away as he smiled. The younger smiled as well, poking his hyung in the stomach. "Let's not loose that. I don't want to loose my best friend."
"You still want to be friends with me? After I did all those mean things to Jungkook and you?"
"Of course!" Taehyung gleamed. "You've been there from the beginning. It wouldn't be a happy ending if you're not there with me."
Hoseok smiled as he sighed in relief. "Thanks Tae. I'm sorry for being a horrible best friend."
"You're not horrible," the other complimented. "Just protective. I get it."
Jungkook later rejoined the group, just as they moved closer to the cart. He hugged Taehyung's side, smiling widely. Taehyung raised a brow as he nudged the younger.
"Yah! Why are you smiling so much?" He questioned. "Did you meet someone new in the toilet?"
Jungkook his head, grinning at his boyfriend. "I'm just proud of you."
"For what?"
"I heard what happened. I'm glad things between you and Hosoek hyung are okay now."
Taehyung smirked as he pecked his boyfriend's lips. "I told you before. No one is going to bother as long as I am around."
--
The group finally boarded onto the cart, taking them up to the mountain. As they rode up, Hoseok began to panic. "yah! Don't stand on one side! Balance it out!"
"Oh? Like this?" Yoongi snickered, pulling everyone to one side.
"Yah!!! Don't do that!" Hoseok whined.
"Okay, fine." Namjoon groaned, walking over to Hoseok.
"No! Not you!" He pushed. "Anyone but break-everything-monster."
Eventually getting annoyed by their friend's constant complaining, they evened themselves out in the cart. When they arrived at the top, Hoseok was the first to sprint out.
Jungkook gasped as he spotted the store selling small locks, where he dragged his boyfriend with him. "Lets get the red one!"
"Okay, here. Go pay for it," Taehyung ordered, handing the younger his wallet. After Jungkook purchased their lock, they wrote their names on the lock then exited the shop to find a space to place their lock.
"Kookie, over here!" Jungkook ran over to his hyung, who pointed to a small corner overlooking the city. "Lets place it here. Next time we come, it will be easy to find."
The younger agreed locking it at the corner before tossing the key over the railing. Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jungkook's waist, resting his head on his shoulder, as they watched the key disappeared in the distance.
They continued to observe the city, before continuing to walk around hand-in-hand. The couple reunited with their friends at the snack shop, grabbing some food before leaving the tower.
At the end of the day, they met back with their families at Sea World. Taehyung introduced Jungkook to his dad, who happily greeted the young male.
"You must be very special," he told Jungkook. "My son doesn't date just anyone. If Taehyung likes you, then so do I."
"Dad goals," Jimin whispered, earning an elbow jab by Namjoon.
"No jams Jimin."
"Stop saying that!"
"Hey hyung!" Taehyung shouted towards Jin. "I forgot to give this to you. Here."
Jin clapped as he snatched the present and opened it. "What the—what is this?"
"Did you seriously get Jin a bell collar?" Jungkook crossed his arms as he stared at his boyfriend.
"I told you."
--
When the party was over, Jungkook's parents insisted that they drive home with their son. They suddenly dropped the bomb, explaining how they're leaving for Busan tomorrow for the rest of Christmas break.
Taehyung was shocked by the news as he looked at his boyfriend for an explanation. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"It's Christmas. I didn't want to ruin it for you." Jungkook frowned.
"So how long are you gone for?"
"Two weeks."
"Yah!" Taehyung gasped. "Two weeks is like forever!"
"I'm sorry Taetae! My parents really want to go back to our hometown for break because they miss it." Jungkook hugged his boyfriend tightly. "I'll call you. Promise."
Taehyung returned the hug, snuggling his nose into the younger's soft hair. "You better call me. And no falling anyone else, you hear me?"
Jungkook giggled, pulling away. "Deal." He smiled, jumping into the car with his parents.
"I love you!" Taehyung waved.
"Love you too!" Jungkook smiled.
As the Jeons drove off of the property, Taehyung sighed as he returned to his friends. When he explained to the others what had happened, Jimin gleamed as he swung an arm over his friend.
"Yah! I'm heading to Busan to visit my family in a few days for the weekend! Come with me!" Jimin suggested.
"Seriously?" Taehyung cheered. "You're the best chimchim!"
"I know," the other giggled. "Now go tell Namjoon I have jams."
"Too far." Taehyung laughed, pulling his same-aged friend with him.
Wait for me Jungkook! I'm coming!
