Jewelry Bonney stared at her best friend, her chin in her hands and her face scrunched up into a pout.

"Ya."

Law's eyebrow raised and he turned to face the pink haired woman. "I'm sorry?"

Bonney continued to stare. "Roronoa-ya, Killer-ya, Bonney-ya, Tony-ya, Eustass-ya- what's with all the 'ya's? Ever since you woke up it's been like, 'I am Law. Ya ya ya'."

Law scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Please. I have no idea what you're speaking of, Bonney."

The pink haired woman sat up straight at that and pointed at her best friend. "And that! You've been way too nice and formal! Jesus, dude, what the hell happened? You're like a completely different person, sorta."

"It is entirely possible that Trafalgar's comatosed state- no matter how brief- brought some repressed mannerisms back to the surface." Basil Hawkins cut in, surprising the two, as they had forgotten he was there. "As they say, 'old habits die hard'."

Law drew his lips into a thin line. Or don't die at all.

"Thank you for the explanation, Hawkins-ya. Where did you get your psychology degree, if I may ask?" Law snapped.

"Cambridge, actually." Hawkins retorted emotionlessly.

Law let out an exadurated gasp. "Cambridge? Oh, and here you are working as my boyfriend's parole officer. What a damn shame. I guess the physician position never really was your style, huh?"

Bonney watched the back and forth banter with wide eyes, pulling Killer down onto the couch next to her when he walked by.

"Still as arrogant as ever, aren't you Trafalgar?" Hawkins nearly scoffed. "Always using that quick mouth of yours to get into trouble."

Law scowled as Hawkins continued.

"You'll always be the same. Same job, same friends, same tragedy, same two men you've been whoring around with for the past two lives!"

Law flinched at that, pain evident in his body language.

Meanwhile, Bonney was about to get up and kick that son-of-a-bitch's ass all the way to China for what he said to her best friend.

A pale fist beat her to it, though.

None of them had heard the door open over Hawkins's rant, so it was shocking to say the least when Eustass Kid appeared out of nowhere and punched his parole officer in the jaw.

"I was your master once, so listen here, fuck face." Kid snarled, grabbing Hawkins by the throat before he could fall.

Killer and Bonney stared, frozen in shock. No matter what the situation was, Kid had never given off such a powerfully dignified and dangerous air before. It was like he was a different person entirely.

The ex-shogun's grip tightened around Hawkins's neck and he snarled like a feral dog. "You will never speak that way about Trafalgar. EVER."

Basil Hawkins knew all too well how this scene would play out. He says something about Trafalgar, Kid gets pissed and nearly breaks his neck, he relents, and everyone goes away (mostly) unscathed.

But that wasn't the case this time, so it seemed.

Kid's grip tightened and he turned Hawkins to face Law and all of his injuries.

"Take a good damn look at him and tell me that he enjoys this! TELL ME!"

The blonde couldn't get a single word out, just the strangled sounds of air trying desperately to enter his lungs.

Kid snarled and tightened his grip further, no thoughts of relenting this time.

Law tried to stand at that. He knew that look in Kid's eyes, knew that hunger for blood. This was not the musician anymore, this was the Shogun.

"Eustass-ya!" Law called out, only to receive no response.

Basil Hawkins was panicking now, his eyes begining to roll back into his head.

Law limped over and tried prying Kid's hands away from his parole officer's throat. "Eustass-ya, stop!"

Kid glanced down at his boyfriend's distressed face for a moment before letting go.

Basil Hawkins dropped to the ground with a strangled gasp, clutching at his bruised neck and coughing his lungs out.

Kid still looked furious, though, his golden eyes looking almost like molten lava.

Law reached up and cupped his boyfriend's face in slightly trembling hands, bringing him down so that their eyes were locked.

"It's alright, Kid." The doctor breathed, lightly rubbing the redhead's cheekbone with his thumb. "It's alright."

Kid stared at his boyfriend for another moment before leaning down and wrapping his arms lightly around Law's waist, burying his face into the crook of Law's neck.

Bonney and Killer were frozen in shock once again. Neither bystander knew what to make of anything that was going on. They could only watch with wide eyes and confused stares.

"911, what's your emergency?"

All eyes snapped up to the front door as a static voice broke the tense silence.

Tony Tony Chopper stood in the doorway with Bepo, a terrified look on his face and his phone in his hand. It was obvious he had seen what had happened.

"Hello?" The emergancy operator called out.

Kid and Laws' eyes widened as Chopper opened his mouth to speak, but a pink blur sprinted past them and tackled the poor boy before he could get a word out.

Bepo began barking playfully at all the excitement and Bonney pressed Chopper's face into her bussom to shut him up as she answered the phone.

"Sorry, my dog dialed by accident." The woman chuckled, wrapping her free arm and her legs tight around Chopper to keep him from squirming and pushing his face even further into her cleavage.

"Mhmm... Mhmm... Yes, thank you ma'am, sorry again. Okay... Okay, buh-bye now!"

As soon as she hung up she released the poor teenager from her embrace, and Chopper took a deep breath.

"Hey!" He shouted as Bonney stuffed his phone into her bra.

"Tony-ya, it's not what you think." Law said, catching the young teen's attention.

Chopper, the normally shy kid, turned to him and growled. "Not what I think?! This monster was just choking a man, and you should still be in bed, Mister Law! So forgive me if I took this the wrong way!"

"It's true. I am the one at fault here." The raspy voice of Basil Hawkins called out.

The man stood and righted himself before walking to the door.

"I caused unnecessary conflict and had a ninety percent chance of being beaten, and yet I continued. It was a lapse in judgement on my part, Kid-dono was merely defending Trafalgar's honor."

Reaching for the doorknob, Hawkins turned to face the couple and bowed. "My apologies Kid-dono, Trafalgar. Charges will not be pressed, I assure you."

Straightening up, he glanced over at Killer and Bonney and bowed again. "I do hope you remember soon, Killer-san, Bonney-sama."

Turning back once more, his cold gaze locked on Chopper and softened slightly. The young teenager was quite taken aback at the hand that rested on his head and ruffled his hair.

Basil Hawkins let the tiniest hints of a smile tug at the corners of his lips for the first time in centuries. "It was good to see you again, my apprentice."

And with those parting words, he turned and left, closing the door behind him and leaving the five in a state of shock.
