Roman POV

I was shuffling through different cases when someone knocked on my office door. I looked up to see the chief. Thomas Sanders. He smiles at me which I just reply with a smile and motioned for him to come in. "It's awfully late Roman." he says while walking over towards me. "I know sir. I'm just trying to finish something quick." I say while shuffling through some more pictures.

"You do know that your boyfriend is patiently waiting outside, right?" Thomas said playfully. "He's not my boyfriend!" I fire back like a child. "Maybe not now." Thomas adds while smiling innocently. "That's against the rules ya know." I add. "I can make an exception." he counters while getting up. He looks at me and just smiles. "Whenever you're done, make sure to lock your office. You forgot last time." he says while tossing me some keys. I caught them and just looked at him. "Sorry." I mumble.

"It's alright Roman. Just don't forget." he fake warns. With that he waves and walks out. I just sigh and neatly stack the files into my drawer. After that I turn off my computer, grab my coat and walk out. I lock my office door and stuff the keys into my backpack, pulling out my car keys.

I head over towards the elevator and hit the ground floor button. I reach the front desk area and walk over towards the front doors. I see Patton standing there waiting just for me. I laugh as the bubbly strawberry blonde bounce over and starts going on and on about his day.

I don't mind since I like to hear about his day and how things are going. We reach my car and climbed in after I unlocked it. I started up the car and headed down my usual path home. Patton is my roommate so I don't have to drop him off anywhere.

With that, we went home. Nothing happened which is good. Great even.

So why do I feel so off?

I shrug it off and continue to listen to Patton ramble about his coworkers.

Short chapter i know. I'm sorry. I'm trying to get as many chapters done even if it's almost Midnight. These chapters might not even be published the day/night that i write them who knows
