"So.  The Captain is your Uncle?" I asked Jay casually, who was standing beside me leaning against the deck of the ship, the Jolly Roger having set out to sea a while ago, my mind still trying to grasp the fact that I was the granddaughter of the Evil Queen Narissa.  I shivered.  That's just scary.

"You cold?" Jay asked then, and I glanced over at him while shaking my head.

"A little, but I'm-," Suddenly something was draped over my shoulders, and I blushed at the sight of a very vest-less and muscular Jay.  Albeit, he still wore a maroon tank top.

"It's the least I can do.  I don't mind the cold as much, since where I come from it's constantly sunny every day of the year," Jay shrugged and turned back to gazing out at the sea.

I nodded and ducked my head, trying to hide my blush as I pulled his colorful vest tighter over my shoulders.  "Thanks," I muttered, and cleared my throat before leaning next to him.  "So.  The Captain's your Uncle?" I repeated, and Jay barked a laugh.

"Hook?" he chuckled and shook his head while folding his bare muscular arms on the rail of the ship, his maroon muscle tee hugging the rest of his defined body.  Stop staring, Emily!  "No, he's just a close friend of my father's that I consider him a relative."  Jay shrugged.  "So I just call him Uncle Hook.  He doesn't seem to mind it."

I nodded in understanding before frowning.  "But then, why didn't Hook recognize you when we first showed up in the Disneyverse?"

Jay avoided eye contact and rubbed the back of his neck nervously.  "Let's just say that my father doesn't appreciate me wearing clothing like a certain enemy of his used to wear."  He shrugged then.  "I'll wear what I feel comfortable in, and since I haven't seen Uncle Hook in a few years, he wouldn't have recognized me anyway until I said where I was from."

My frown only deepened.  "And you said you were from Agrabah?"  Jay stiffened before nodding his head slowly.  "What's it like there?" I asked, completely curious as his posture relaxed next to me.

"Well, it's big, and dry, hardly ever rains."  He seemed to think for a moment before shrugging nonchalantly.  "It's out in the desert."

I blinked.  Once.  Twice.  Three times.  Then I laughed.  It was the kind of laugh that caused me to clutch my stomach in pain as I keeled over on the rail of the ship.  "That sounds like an awful place to live!" I managed to say through my giggles, and soon Jay was laughing along with me.

Once we both managed to stop laughing, I wiped away some leftover tears while Jay just stared at me.  I shifted nervously.  "You're doing it again."  Jay shook his head and blinked his wide brown eyes before smiling softly down at me.

"Sorry.  It's just, I like your laugh," he finally said, and I immediately felt my cheeks heat up in response.  "I'm guessing that sounded creepy, huh?  We've all but known each other for at least a day."  Then he frowned.  "Although, time is lost here in Neverland, so you really can't tell how long it's been."

I nodded, my cheeks still burning from my blush.  "Right," I cleared my throat, "So where are we headed to now?"

Jay shrugged in response.  "Who knows?  There's so many places to sail to.  I'll check with my Uncle, though.  Wait here."  I nodded as Jay went to the head of the ship where the steering wheel resided to speak with the Captain.

While he was gone, I reached into my right boot where I had hid the oval-shaped picture frame and pulled it out to gaze down at the photo beneath the glass.  I sighed and slipped the photo out of it's frame, folding it in half and sticking it back in my boot before tossing the oval frame over the ship and into the vast seas below.  Well, there goes that.

Suddenly something was draped around my neck, and I jumped in surprise as the golden serpent necklace that Jay always wore was clasped around my throat.  I raised a hand to it and lightly touched the serpent's jeweled red eyes with my fingertip.  I glanced over my shoulder and found Jay smiling down at me.  My cheeks immediately heated.  "Why-," I began, but he cut me off.

"It's so that I can always find you."  I'm pretty sure I was as red as a raspberry by now.  "The necklace is Enchanted with Magic.  It was a gift from my father as a sign of my heritage, but now I'm giving it to you so that if you ever get taken or lost again, just whisper my name to the snake and he'll lead you back to me."

I blinked and glanced down at the necklace.  It was warm, almost as if it was alive, and I stroked it gently.  I could've sworn I saw it move it's head in appreciation.  "Wow," I breathed, and spun around to face Jay as I threw my arms around his neck.  "Thank you.  This means a lot," I whispered, and he hugged me back just as tightly.

"You're welcome," he whispered back, and smiled down at me.  I grinned back just as the ship was jostled and we went tumbling to the floor of the deck.

"What's going on?" I shouted over the bustling sailors and yelling voices.

"Merpeople!" I heard someone shout, and gasped as I stumbled to my feet and peered over the edge of the ship, Jay's vest falling from my shoulders as he picked it up and draped it back over himself.  I managed to glimpse several aqua-blue colored tails flicking under the surface of the water, and stared.  They were real.

The ship was jostled once again, and water splashed up over the deck, causing me to slip and fall, my Pirate outfit becoming slightly damp as I pushed myself up to my hands and knees.  I could see Jay struggling to keep his balance a few meters away from me, when something suddenly wrapped itself around my waist.  I gasped and looked down to see an orange tentacle grab hold of me as it tried to yank me off the ship.  "Jay!" I screamed, struggling to grab onto a rope or something to keep me on board.

"Emily!" Jay shouted, and jumped up to his feet just as a fat red parrot swooped in and bit down hard on the orange tentacle restraining me which then flailed and dropped me back onto the ship, causing me to land directly on top of Jay.  Rolling us over so that I was on my back and he was now on top of me, he shouted near my ear, "Stay down!  I won't let them take you!"  He held onto me, pinning my body to the floor of the ship as water continued to splash around us.  The parrot from earlier cawed loudly, and Jay snapped his head up at it.  "Find help!" he yelled up at the colorful bird as it cawed once more before flying off.

I clutched tightly onto Jay's neck, my nails digging slightly into his back for a more firm grip.  It was like he was acting as my anchor.  "Jay!" I shouted loud enough for him to hear me over all the commotion going on around us.  "I'm scared!"

"Don't worry!  Iago should be back any moment now!" Jay bellowed, and I blinked curiously up at him.  Who was Iago?  Wait, is he talking about the parrot?

A loud cry from above us had both me and Jay lifting our heads to see the fat red parrot from before flying in circles above us.  I saw Jay grin widely, the parrot's squawks deafening on my eardrums as it flew off once more.  Then the ship began to rumble.  Jay quickly got to his feet, pulling me up along with him as he dragged me over towards Captain Hook who was laughing madly while steering the Jolly Roger away from the merpeople.  Then suddenly, the ship became absolutely still.  There was no more rocking, no more splashing, and definitely no more merpeople.  What happened to them?

"Well, if it isn't a surprise to see you, Hook."

I spun around at the sound of the voice only to see four black tentacles latched on the edge, and a body pulling itself up over the deck.  Hook bowed, welcoming our new guest.  I gaped in awe.  Who was this. . .thing?  The woman--I guess you could call her that--had eight black-and-purple tentacles, a golden seashell necklace, short flowing white hair, bright red lips, purple skin, and very large. . .everything?

"Auntie Ursula!" Jay grinned widely as he approached the--whatever she was--and the squid-woman smirked over at him, raising a few of her black-and-purple tentacles to muss up Jay's long brown hair, causing his beanie to fall to the ground, and I hastily picked it up as I held it tightly to me.  It was then the squid-woman took notice of me.

"And who is this precious thing?" the squid-woman--Ursula, from what Jay had called her--sped over to me and used her tentacles to inspect me, tilting my face up to her eye level.  I gulped roughly.

"Auntie Ursula, this is Emily Wyatt.  She's a Human that accidentally fell through a Portal with me, and so we're trying to get her home.  Do you have any ideas?" Jay crossed his arms and frowned over at me, noticing I was shivering in fear of the squid-woman before me.  His brown eyes widened before rushing over to my side and pulling me towards him.  "Auntie Ursula, I'm sorry, but you're scaring her."

Ursula just chuckled and used her tentacles to crawl back over towards Hook and the ship's steering wheel.  "Very well, Jay.  I will see what I can brew."  Ursula then perched herself over the rail of the ship.  "Captain," she waved her long fingers at Hook who tipped his head in response before Ursula dropped back down into the ocean below.

I let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding, and slumped myself against Jay who quickly caught me in his arms.  "Who was she?  Is she really your Aunt?" I breathed in astonishment, and Jay chuckled.

"Just another close friend of my father's, that's all.  But that's Ursula, the Sea Witch."

"S-she's a W-witch?" I stuttered out, and Jay tugged me closer against him.

"Not in the sense you're thinking.  She was banished because she tried to steal the Trident and Crown from King Triton, the King of Atlantica, and became very skilled in Magic afterwards," Jay explained, and helped me stand upright before I handed him back his beanie.  He gladly took it and pulled it back on over his long shaggy brown hair.

"So she's a-a criminal?" I asked confusedly, a frown etched on my face.  Would a Villain be called a Criminal?

Jay shrugged.  "Something along those lines."  He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder towards his Uncle.  "And thanks to Ursula, she managed to ward off the merpeople, since we were getting pretty close to their Kingdom.  But now we're headed through a Portal that Ursula made."

I followed his thumb to where a wide circle of water was spinning rapidly nearby.  It was a whirlpool, and it was glowing.  "Where will it lead?"

Jay shrugged.  "Wherever the Disneyverse decides to take us."
