What Are You Doing On My Lap?

A/N: Not much changed except for the description of Jay :3

Image above is of Emily in her outfit, and sry, it was the closest I could find that had a girl with headphones XD And yes, I copied her outfit straight from the Anime Girl ._. I'm not very fashionable ;-;

Image below is of Jay, and yes, I'm using the character from Disney Descendants (if any of you have seen it), but otherwise it works for the whole realistic thing, so! I don't own the character Jay, just his actions and dialogue.

I sighed and leaned back against my tree.  Today was one hectic day full of Quizzes and Finals at school.  I was glad it was the last day and Summer has finally begun.  So, to start off my oh-so-wonderful first day of Summer, I had decided to come to Central Park and lie beneath the shade of a tree while listening to music with my new dark red Beats that my Dad had bought me recently.

I smiled and closed my eyes while placing my hands behind my head, leaning back against the trunk of the tree, my jean shorts probably getting grass stains, but I didn't care.  I loved being outside in this kind of weather.  It was refreshing.

I was about to enter my peaceful state of sleep in the shady tree while listening to some upbeat country song--I blame my Dad for his strange taste in music that I had oddly grown to like as well--and was just relaxing when something hard and heavy fell into my lap, causing me to cry out at the weight of it and pulled my Beats off so that they hung around my neck as I opened my eyes only to see a very cute boy lying across my lap.  I blinked.  Was this for real?  I stared at the boy as he groaned and slowly pushed himself up on his hands and knees, shaking his head slowly as if to clear it, and looked around him.  His dark brown eyes latched onto me and he seemed taken aback.  I lifted my hands, just as surprised as him.

"Um, what are you doing on my lap?" I voiced at last, and the boy jerked to attention, quickly scrambling off of me as he fell over backwards in shock.  "Hey!  Are you alright?"  Oh yeah, go right ahead, ask the guy if he was alright after landing on your lap, Emily.  Smooth move.  I rolled my eyes at my thoughts and sat up straighter, pulling my knees up to my chest while my music continued to blast from my Beats.  "Are you just gonna sit there and stare at me all day, or what?" I raised a curious eyebrow at him while stretching out my left leg, placing my entwined hands on my right knee that was still pulled up to my chest.

The boy seemed to snap out of whatever trance he was in and glanced around once again.  "Where am I?"

Wow.  His voice sounded just as good as he looked.  And he was cute, I'll give ya' that.  Although he was dressed a little strange, even if it was Summer and really really hot out.  I mean, look at me, I was wearing an off-the-shoulders white shirt that had sleeves coming up to my elbows and billowed out from there.  I wore a pale blue tank top underneath that was thick-strapped, along with my shark tooth necklace and beaded bracelet adorning my right wrist.  My jean shorts were comfortable, but also a little revealing of my thighs, but hey, it's Summer, you can't blame a girl for wanting to tan her long skinny white legs.  My silver dangles of earrings swung back and forth from my ears, just shy of brushing my cheeks when I moved my head.  My black-and-white converse pulled my whole outfit together.

"You're at Central Park."  I frowned at the boy.  "I take it you're not from around here?" I eyed the boy's clothing up and down.  I mean, of course I was enjoying the view of his bare arms through his colorful zipper vest shirt that wasn't really doing a good job at covering his biceps, and even sort of admired his blue jeans decked out with zippers on the knees tucked into a pair of black combat boots.  His head was covered in a mass of long dark brown hair that reached past his shoulders with a red beanie covering his mass of tangles, a curled golden choker necklace that resembled a snake coming around to bite it's own tail rested around his neck, making his brown skin look even more bronze than it was.  Jeez, he was really toned with all sorts of muscles.  Especially those arms.

Okay, Emily, snap out of it!  It's no time to be checking the guy out when he seems totally lost out of his mind right now!  I shook my head and rested my dark blue eyes on the boy, tossing my long midnight black hair over my shoulder as the dark green ribbon holding it up in a tight ponytail started to come loose.  I sighed and pulled the ribbon out, my long dark lockes cascading past my shoulders and down my neck as I began to fix my hair.  I glanced up to see the boy staring at me and frowned, my arms dropping back to my sides as my hair fell back down again while putting the green ribbon in my jean shorts pocket.

"Is there something you need?" I asked with a raised brow, and the boy just kept staring.  I sighed.  "Well, this is hopeless," I muttered, and leaned back against my tree, crossing my arms over my chest as my shark tooth necklace swayed back and forth around my neck.  I played with my bracelet while asking, "How 'bout you start by telling me your name?"

"Uh," the boy shook his head and cleared his throat, "it's Jay."

I raised an eyebrow.  "No last name?"  Jay frowned over at me.  Was this guy being serious right now?  I sighed.  "Here's an example: My name is Emily Wyatt.  You see what I said there?  Now what's yours?" I gestured a hand towards him.

He frowned and held a hand up to himself questioningly, "I'm Jay."

I groaned and dropped my head on my knee.  "This is getting us nowhere."  I lifted my head and slowly stood up while wiping the butt of my jean shorts of any lingering grass before placing my hands on my hips.  "Alright.  You wanna tell me where you live?"  I pulled my iPhone out of my pocket that had a cute rubber red case with little devil wings coming out of the sides of it, and turned off my music so that I could hear him better before sticking it back in my pocket.  I looked down at Jay to see him staring at me again.  My cheeks began to burn as I glared at him.  "Hey!  Cut it out with the staring, alright?  It's really creeping me out."  I crossed my arms and turned my head away from him.

Jay slowly got to his feet and my eyes were immediately drawn to him.  Wow.  He was a lot taller than he seemed.  "I'm sorry, it's just. . .you're not running away from me."

I raised an eyebrow.  "Don't tempt me."  I sighed and uncrossed my arms as I began to fix my hair once again, pulling it up in a tight ponytail and tying it back with the dark green ribbon that I pulled out of my pocket after placing it there earlier.  Once it was secured, I dropped my hands and turned to face Jay when I noticed his facial expression was one of complete and utter horror.  Jeez, did I really look that bad with my hair up?  "You're staring again," I pointed out, and Jay stepped back a little.  I frowned and finally noticed that he actually wasn't staring at me at all, but was staring at what was behind me. There was only a tree there, so what could possibly-

I gasped.  I had turned to see what Jay was staring at and was surprised not to see my tree anymore, but a large circle of water showing a vast ocean beyond it.  I stared at it and stepped forward, one hand outstretched when I was yanked back with a hand on my arm.  "Don't touch it!" Jay shouted, and I glimpsed his necklace beginning to glow a bright yellow when it began to tug toward the circle of water, the necklace seeming to drag him through as I stood agape.

"Hey!  Jay!" I called, and pulled on his wrist as we grasped forearms, using all my strength to pull him back and not let him go through, but I guess his necklace was stronger since it yanked him right in, and since our hands were still wrapped around each other's arms, I was pulled through the circle of water as well.

I was falling along with Jay and saw the ocean approaching us, and fast.  I screamed and brought my hands up to block my face when a pair of arms wrapped themselves around my waist and held me tightly against their warm half-bare chest.  "Hang on!" I heard Jay shout in my ear over the rush of wind, and quickly turned my face into his chest as we crashed head-first into the bright blue water.

I struggled to breathe as I kicked to the surface, my clothes becoming drenched as I gasped for air once I broke through, staying afloat and turning my body to search for the boy that had landed on my lap moments earlier.  "Jay!  Jay, where are you!?"  I coughed on seawater as I turned my head 'round and 'round, but still saw no sign of the boy.  "JAY!" I shouted, my voice going hoarse from screaming his name, but I didn't care.  I didn't know where I was and I was panicking, not wanting to be alone.

"EMILY!"

I snapped my head up and saw a large figure floating towards me on the water.  My eyes widened.  It was a ship.  I tried to swim out of the way of it's path, but the water it drew up splashed me around and my shoulder hit the hard wood of it's hull.  I cried out in pain and then realized I still had my Beats and iPhone with me.  Aww, man!  Now they were ruined!  How the heck was I supposed to get home now?  I tried to keep in my sobs as something was thrown down at me, and realized it was a rope.

I quickly grabbed onto it, and the rope immediately began to pull from the other end, me being lifted up and hauled onto the deck as I collapsed on the wooden platform, coughing up seawater as my drenched hair fell over my shoulders.  I wheezed from lack of air and finally lifted my head up to see who my rescuer was, only for my dark blue eyes to widen drastically.

Pirates.  I was surrounded by Pirates.  You have got to be kidding me.

A/N: So like I said, exactly the same, just more realistic with the people and all xP
