The man with flaming red hair pinched his fingers together and lifted me up by the scruff of my clothing.  I was breathing rapidly from fear and I'm pretty sure I was close to hyperventilating.  Or wetting my pants.  Whichever comes first.  The man with flaming red hair and bright green-and-gold eyes smiled widely at me.  I gulped.  "Please don't eat me," I begged in a whisper, clutching my hands to my chest that felt like my heart was going to burst right out of it.

"Eat you?" the man spoke with a cheery voice, still smiling widely.  "Oh, no, no, no, I wouldn't eat you, but you can eat these."  The cheery man with a top hat that was too big for him and only seemed to be held up by his wild red hair carried me across the table full of tea sets and scones, and dropped me into a teapot.  I squeaked in surprise when he let me go, and was free-falling once again only to slide into the empty porcelain kettle.

"Sorry, Hatter, but she can't eat those," Joker's voice sounded from outside the teapot, and I hastily stood up, banging on the rounded walls.

"Joker!  Get me out of here!" I shouted out through the spout, hoping he would be able to hear me.

"Have any of you seen Cheshire, by any chance?" I heard Joker ask them, completely ignoring me.

I growled in frustration.  "Joker!" I bellowed, and heard a sudden crack! as I snapped my head down to see the teapot had begun to magically break until it shattered completely, causing me to tumble out over the broken glass pieces, slicing my arm as I did.  I gasped from the pain, a long gash beginning to drip with blood from my right elbow down to my wrist.  I hissed as I pushed myself up to my feet, cradling my arm to me as I did.

I looked up to find everyone staring down at me in awe.  Even Joker seemed speechless for once, his green eyes turning to slits as they narrowed in on my arm.  He quickly disappeared from talking to the red-haired man and reappeared right in front of me.  "Hold on, Emily," he mumbled, and swiftly lifted me up bridal-style, the blood loss beginning to cause me to lose consciousness.  "Jay!  We have to arrange a meeting with them!" I heard Joker shout out to Jay, wherever he was.

"They won't be too happy with that!" I heard Jay call back.

"Just do it!" Joker hissed, and felt my body suddenly go slack as Joker disappeared and reappeared with me in his arms to wherever we were headed.

"What are they doing here?" I heard a female voice hiss above me, and groaned as I tossed my head at the burning sensation in my right arm.  "Be still."  My body suddenly went taut, and I could no longer move it of my own free will.  What was happening?  Who was this person?

"We don't want to be here as much you do, Mal," another female voice answered a little ways off, and I frowned.  Who were these people?

"Melody, we all came here to agree to a temporary truce.  Let's just hear them out, alright?" a third, gentle female voice intervened, and I heard a sigh of resignation from the second voice just as the burning in my arm ceased.

"Alright, now you can move," the voice above me said, and I flexed my right arm only to feel no pain whatsoever.  I blinked my eyes open and slowly sat up.

"Ugh," I groaned and clutched my head, feeling a migraine coming on, "what just happened?"

"Are you alright, Emily?" I recognized Jay's voice in front of me and blinked my eyes rapidly, my vision slightly blurry before it cleared and found Jay kneeling before me, a hand on my shoulder as he helped me to stand up while the other was clutching my hand.

"What happened?" I asked while slowly shaking my head to clear it, and looked at him questioningly.

"You injured yourself, Emily," Jay explained, and gently grabbed my right arm, showing me the pale scar that began at my elbow and ended at my wrist.  "You lost a lot of blood, so we had to call Mal to heal you."

I frowned.  "Who's Mal?" I questioned, and heard a small scoff to my left.

"I'm Mal, and you're welcome, by the way."  I turned my head to see a girl of about my age with short purple hair and green eyes wearing a vest jacket of pink, purple, and green that turned up at the collar and flared out on the shoulders, a pair of ripped purple jeans tucked in black combat boots, one finger-less glove covering her right hand.  An emblem of two entwining dragons in green and purple decorated the back of her vest jacket.

"Oh, uh, thank you," I stuttered out, and pulled my hand out of Jay's grasp, his warmth still lingering on my skin.

"Alright, now that she's awake, let's get on with the meeting, shall we?"  I looked up to see another girl of about my age as well, her long black flowing hair and blue eyes a near match to my own, a cream-and-peach colored bow holding part of it back, a matching cream-and-peach off-the-shoulder dress covering her slim figure with a left slit in the front of the dress, exposing her cream-and-peach flats.  A golden seashell necklace hung from around her neck and was engraved with a single name: Melody.

"What Melody said," Mal shrugged her shoulders and went to stand beside a tall boy with light brown wavy hair and warm brown eyes, seeming to wear what looked to be a sort of royal garb consisting of a blue jacket, white undershirt with a striped tie, and blue slacks with shiny black shoes.  His hands were tucked casually into his slacks pockets, but he was grinning widely down at Mal as she stood beside him with a small smile, her arms crossed over her chest.  I blinked.  Were they in love?

Melody scoffed and rolled her eyes while crossing her arms over her off-the-shoulders dress, the long cream sleeves seeming to puff out at her wrists.  "Oh, please, Mal.  Just admit how happy you are to see your boyfriend again," Melody smirked over in Mal's direction.

"Now, girls, just calm down," yet another girl stepped forward with dark blue hair and brown eyes, her clothes seeming more on the fashionable side as she wore a blue shawl-like shirt with a decorated black skirt, a pair of black-and-white leggings tucked in ankle-high converse.  A blood red heart-shaped stone with a small golden crown on it hung around her neck, a small pocket mirror held in her right hand.  The back of her shawl-like shirt also bore an emblem, only that of a cracked crown instead.

"Evie's right, just calm down," another girl with the gentle voice from earlier--who was maybe a bit older than myself and the others--stood beside the blue-haired girl--Evie--her short brown hair spiking up at the back of her neck, her long purple dress hugging her slim figure with a small green creature perched on her right shoulder that matched her big green eyes.  I also noticed her feet were bare.  Another girl stood beside her--maybe about the same age as Evie--with long curly brown hair and matching brown eyes, her features seeming to be of Asian heritage, her blue-and-pink Chinese dress with a wide black belt hooked around her waist a gorgeous addition that clearly suited her Asian features.

"Um, hi, Evie," a boy with blonde hair and blue-green eyes wearing black-rimmed glasses waved timidly over at Evie then, his suit a close match to the other boy's, only the colors he wore were a lime green and instead of a regular tie, he wore a plaid bow tie.  It suited his timid nature.  Another boy of about the same age stood beside him, his hair a mix of black-and-white with brown eyes, his clothes consisting of a black t-shirt, a black-and-white jacket with a matching fur neckline, and red sleeves pulled over it.  He also wore a pair of black-and-white capris with brown ankle boots, a pair of red finger-less gloves covering his hands.  The back of his jacket also bore an emblem of crossbones colored half-black and half-white on each side.

"Hi, Doug," Evie said softly with a small smile, and wiggled her fingers over at the nerdy-looking boy.

I blinked and took a step back, raising my arms in a confusing manner as I finally took in my surroundings.  We seemed to be in a room filled with several paintings coating the walls.  They were beautiful and very professional looking.  "Wow," I breathed at the sight of all the colors and images around me.  "These are beautiful."

"Aww, thank you."  I looked over at the girl with short spiky brown hair and green eyes, her smile contagious to where I was smiling back at her.

"You mean you painted all these?" I questioned, while gesturing up at all the artwork.

The girl nodded.  "I was kind of locked up in this tower for eighteen years, so I needed something to do."  I blinked at her oh-so-casual statement.  "Oh, I'm Rapunzel, by the way."

"No offense," I began, "but who are all you people!?" I ended with a small shriek, and heard a sigh from behind me just as I felt a pressing weight on my head.  I snapped my head back to see Joker leaning his arm idly on top of my head, examining the nails of his free hand, his blue-black cat ears twitching slightly as his matching tail waved casually behind him.

"Haven't you figured it out yet, Emily?" Joker grinned widely down at me as I merely glared up at him.  He disappeared from my side and reappeared in the middle of the room, gesturing to all the teenagers around us, each on opposing sides.  "These are the children of both Good and Evil alike."

I blinked rapidly, still not understanding what he was saying exactly.  "Which means they are who, exactly?" I repeated, still clueless as to who all these people were.

Jay frowned over at me then.  "Emily, can you name all the Disney movies you've ever seen?"

I frowned and crossed my arms.  "Why?"

"Just do it, please?" he begged, and the others glanced over at him curiously.  All except for Joker, of course, who was too busy admiring himself in the tall rotating broken mirror in the corner despite all the cracks in it.

"Um, I've just seen all the Tinkerbell movies and both parts of Peter Pan," I answered, and everyone blinked at me in confusion except for Jay.

"'Movies'?" the nerdy boy stepped forward with a curious frown, and I nodded.

"Those are the only ones you've ever seen?" Jay questioned once again, and I sighed deeply before nodding in confirmation.  "Well, then aside from those, these are the children of Good, otherwise known as Heroes."  Jay gestured to the three girls and two boys who looked more proper.  "That's Melody, daughter of Princess Ariel and Prince Eric," he gestured at the girl with dark hair in the cream-colored dress, "that's Lonnie, daughter of Fa Mulan and General Shang," he pointed to the Asian girl, "that's Rapunzel," the short-haired brunette waved eagerly at me, "that's Ben, son of King Adam and Queen Belle," the boy standing beside Mal smiled gently over at me, "and that's Doug, son of Dopey, one of the Seven Dwarfs."  I nodded in understanding as he moved to introduce the other three teenagers who looked more carefree than the children of Good.  "These are the children of Evil, otherwise known as Villains.  You already met Mal.  She's the daughter of Maleficent," he gestured to the purple-haired girl who healed my arm, "that's Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil," the black-and-white-haired boy saluted one hand at me with a tight smile, "and that's Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen," Jay finished the introductions as I stared openly at the grinning blue-haired girl before me.

"I'm sorry, the 'Evil Queen'?" I looked pointedly over at Jay at my question, seeming to understand what I was getting at.

Joker chuckled and suddenly appeared beside me, holding up the black-and-white photo of me as a baby for show.  "What?  Worried you might have a half-sister you never knew about?" Joker gibed, and I exhaled roughly through my nose before snatching the photo out of his grasp.  Joker chuckled and patted my head.  "Easy there, Little Miss Evil-Do-Gooder.  You don't have a sister.  Narissa was a different Queen entirely."  My glare only became more fierce as I made to swipe at him, only for him to disappear and reappear next to Carlos who raised a curious eyebrow at him.

"You have no respect for privacy!" I shrieked, and Joker merely shrugged uncaringly.  "Ugh!" I groaned and tossed my hand in the air aggressively.  The cracked rotating mirror suddenly shattered even more then, causing the girls of Good to squeal in surprise, the Villains included.  I stared just as Joker reappeared in front of me, his eyes bright green slits.

"I knew it!" he exclaimed, and turned to Jay then.  "I told you she had Magic!"

I blinked at his words, then stared down at my hand.  "'Magic'?" I whispered, and slowly clenched my hand into a loose fist.

"Okay, who is she?" Mal demanded while gesturing over at me.

Jay sighed and rubbed the back of his neck nervously.  "This is Emily Wyatt.  She's a Human from Earth who accidentally fell through a Portal with me."  The others all inhaled sharply at his words.  "I'm trying to get her back home, but," he glanced over at me, "there were sudden complications."

I clutched the photo to my chest, knowing exactly what he was talking about.  "Complications like what, Jay?" Carlos questioned while tucking his hands in his capri pockets.

Joker answered heartily, "Little Miss Emily here happens to be the product of both Good and Evil in our world."

"Can you not speak in riddles for once, Joker?" Lonnie frowned pointedly over at the cat-boy.

Joker grinned widely, his smile a little too creepy to be natural as his eyes glowed brightly.  "What I mean is that Emily is the daughter of Peter Pan," the children of Good stared over at me, "and yet is also the daughter of the Evil Queen, Iza," now the children of Evil stared at me.  Joker grinned and bowed with a flourish at me.  "Thus we have our Mediator, ladies and gentlemen."
