Did Someone Order a Pan?

A/N: Small edits, but otherwise the same :3

Song above is 'I'll Try' from Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland, and I just thought it was perfect for this Chapter :)

<3

I sighed and leaned my elbows against the curved railing of the ship, looking out over the waters as I fiddled with my hat in my hands.  I was still refusing to believe the whole prospect of this being real in the slightest.  I sighed and dropped my head down onto the wood when I felt something pull at my skirt and quickly spun around.  I came face-to-face with one of the Pirate crew members and glared at him as he just smirked at me.  "Hey, back off," I warned, and began to walk away when he grabbed my wrist in his large meaty hand.

"Now, come on, darlin'.  I'm just havin' a little fun is all."  He yanked on my arm and I tumbled forward, nearly losing my balance in my boots as they clicked against the hull of the wooden ship.

I tried to pull back.  "Well, I'm not."  I pulled my arm out of his grasp and walked away when I heard him start to follow me and then stopped all at once.  I paused in my walking and turned to see Jay holding up a large curved sword to the Pirate's neck before he could take another step toward me, a look of anger on his face as his brown eyes narrowed.

"If I recall, the Captain declared her off limits," Jay sneered at the Pirate, and he grumbled a string of incoherent words under his breath before walking off to tend to his Pirate duties.  Jay relaxed once he was gone and lowered his sword before turning to me.  "Are you alright?"

I sighed and shook my head before leaning against the ship's hull again, my hat still in my hands as I turned it over and over again with my fingers.  "Thanks for that," I said over my shoulder, and Jay walked up to lean his elbows beside mine.

"You're welcome," he smiled before it dropped just as quickly.  "So, what's bothering you?"

I stared down at the sloshing water below as I gathered my thoughts.  "This place.  These people.  They're not supposed to be real."  I shook my head slowly and lifted my head to stare at the horizon.  "Honestly, I'm scared to find out what else might be real here."

Jay nodded and stared down at the ocean.  "I guess it's hard for a Human to accept things like this since they live in a world that has no Magic."

I snapped my head over at Jay.  "Wait, so no Human has ever been here before?"  He shook his head, and I frowned.  "But what about Peter-," He clamped a hand over my mouth before I could finish voicing my question, and glanced around for any eavesdroppers as I narrowed my dark blue eyes at him.  He finally dropped his hand while giving me a stern look.

"If you know your Disneyverse history as well as you think you do, you should know by now that Uncle Hook and Peter have a stand-off with each other.  They're mortal enemies, I guess you could say," he shrugged and looked back out at the waters.

I blinked.  So this was for reals, then.  I shook my head.  "Wait, what's the 'Disneyverse'?"

"It's our whole world.  Where all Disney resides and is connected together as one.  Like where we are now could lead us into the Lost City of Atlantis or the Sea Witch's Lair, or even the Mermaid Kingdom ruled by King Triton," he shrugged once again and turned around so that he was leaning on his elbows backwards from the ship's railing.  "They're all connected."

I absorbed this information in and placed my hat back on my head, tossing the black ribbon aside so that it blended in with my hair.  "So I really am far away from home," I concluded, and lowered my head into my hands.

Jay's fingers wrapped gently around my wrists, and pulled my hands away from my now tear-stained face as he smiled softly at me.  "Don't worry.  I swear to you I'll get you back home.  The Disneyverse is no place for a Human right now."  He had a grave look on his face as I wiped my tears with my knuckles once he had released my wrists.

I sniffled.  "Why is that?"

Jay opened his mouth to answer when a loud tearing noise sounded from above us, and we glanced up to see a knife running through the ship sail.  I gaped.  That was familiar.  Very familiar.  Jay immediately lifted his sword and stood guard in front of me, pushing me back against the ship's side and nearly toppling me over it in the process.  Did someone order a-?

"PAN!" I heard Captian Hook--yes, I've started calling him that once I realized all of this was completely and utterly real--cry out to the one who was ripping the sail as a shadow flitted across the ship unseen.  I tried following it and even turned in a full circle so that I could see him, but to no avail.

My hat was suddenly taken off of my head, and I twirled around only to come face-to-face with a boy of about thirteen or fourteen-years-old as he laughed and placed my hat on his head.  I stared.  He was floating.  Well, if I was correct, this boy had to be Peter Pan, Captain Hook's mortal enemy.  The boy that could fly, no less.

"Hey!  That's my hat!  Give it back!" I finally snapped out of my stupor and shouted angrily at the immature boy as he just laughed and continued to mess around with my hat.  My cheeks heated in anger as I climbed up onto the ship's mast and tried taking it from him.  "I'm warning you!" I shouted, and the boy stiffened as he finally laid his amber eyes on me.  They widened severely.  I frowned.  Why did it seem like he recognized me for some reason?

"Emily!" I heard Jay shout from behind me, and I turned to face him when my boot slipped on the ship railing and I went tumbling down to the water below.  I screamed as I fell, but never hit the water.  I had shut my eyes from shock, but now opened them only to find myself in the arms of the boy by the name of Peter Pan with my hat still perched on his light brown head as he flew away from the ship and towards the Island of Neverland that we were fast approaching.

"No, wait, take me back!" I cried, and struggled within his grasp, but he only held on tighter.  For a boy of such a young age, he was pretty strong if he could carry a sixteen-year-old girl without breaking a sweat.  "Put me down!  I want to go back!  Jay!  JAY!" I called back at the ship that was growing more and more distant as Peter Pan flew away from it until we finally landed on the beach and he released me.  I scrambled away from him and fell back on the sand as he frowned down at me.

"You--you look so much like her," he whispered, and I narrowed my dark blue eyes at him.

"I look like who?" I asked slowly while standing up and shaking myself of sand, crossing my arms as I stepped back quite a bit, but he just flew closer to me, our faces only inches apart.  "Ever heard of personal space?" I blurted out, and Peter finally backed away, taking my hat off his head and gently handing it to me as I snatched it from his grasp, placing it back on my own head.  He replaced his own green hat pinned with a red feather back onto his head.

Peter actually looked distraught about something.  It almost looked like he was having an internal war with himself.  He suddenly flicked his hand near his head and frowned while saying, "I'm not delusional.  I know it's her."

I frowned and tilted my head, wondering who he was talking to when it suddenly hit me.  Of course!  How could I forget?  "Tinkerbell?" I questioned unsurely, even though I couldn't see her until the small Fairy quite literally placed herself right at my nose, and I gasped in shock while jumping back.  Tinkerbell flew away from me and back to Peter Pan.  "You are real," I whispered, and both the boy and Fairy looked at me strangely.  I shook my head.  "I mean, you're not real from where I come from, but-," I gulped, "You're real here."

Peter frowned and crossed his arms and legs mid-air.  "Where did you say you were from?"

"Uh," I cleared my throat before speaking, "I'm from Earth."  That sounded stupid even to my own ears.

Peter paled and slowly floated down to the sand, his arms going limp in his lap as he avoided my eyes.  Tinkerbell sat on his hat, a little yellow ball of light as she tried to make Peter feel better.  If he was depressed, he couldn't fly.  It was happy thoughts that made you fly, right?  "You can't be here," I barely heard him whisper, and frowned.

"What?"

Peter suddenly shot up into the air, his face close to mine once again.  "You can't be here.  It's not safe."  He took my hand then and began to drag me into the forest.

I yanked my hand out of his and glared at him as he turned around to face me.  "Not until you tell me what is going on!  Nobody's told me anything!" I shouted, and Peter looked like he was fighting with himself again, before nodding once.

"Alright.  I'll tell you anything you want to know, but you might not like it."

I sighed, glad that I was finally getting somewhere.  "Why do you act like you know me when we've never met before?"

Peter sighed himself and locked his amber eyes with my dark blue ones.  "Because-," he took a deep breath, "Because we have."

I narrowed my eyes.  "How?"

He looked down at the beach sand solemnly.  "When you were a baby, your mother brought you to me and asked me to send you to another world where you would be safe from the War."

I gaped.  "My mother?" I whispered.  I didn't have a mother back at home, and it was only me and Dad for years.  I didn't know who or what he was talking about.  "Why did you do it?  Why did you send me away?" I demanded, and realized there were now tears in the young boy's eyes.

"Because," he seemed to steel himself for a moment, as if preparing for what was coming next, "Because you're my daughter."
