The following day ~

Clack! clack! clack!

Sue pulled the lock really hard but realized it was locked.

'What a nice way to start another grim day...' She thought as she sighs at their current situation.

The group has tracked down the footage location is at a very deserted side of Ridgemount town. Yes, although Ridgemount itself is already a much smaller town with not many outsiders, but somehow every corner of it is still filled with people....

However, not at the no-man's place where there are only a few old folks leaving here, and the nearest grocery store is like miles away.

The group arrived at the location at around 11 a.m. Not too late, not too early. Enough time for them to search the house and a good timing not to disturb a single soul here.

"I think the weather is not doing us a favor too dude." Keith said.

The rest look up and see the sky getting cloudy as a few groans can be heard.

"We have no choice-" Rachel began. When Sue suddenly yells, making them nearly jump in fright.

"ANYBODY INSIDE!! ANYBODY INSIDE!! POLICE, PLEASE OPEN UP." Sue said, as she rattled at the lock.

"Gosh... Dude please. Even the ghosts will be scared away by your voice..." John spoke out as the door on the opposite residence opened. reveal a young girl.

Everybody turns to see the girl at the doorstep, rubbing her eyes. Thank goodness, as planned only a small group of them are here today.... Sue, Rachal, John and Keith and a few officers.

Whilst Tracy, Ri-Huan, Susan and Eric are still at the station. Tracking down the car location and questioning the man they called.

Although the man himself says he will only be able to come back from his business trip next week, however they received another call from him just last night informing them that he is able to come back the following day. As his trip ended earlier and he is on his way back from Texas.

"You know Texas reminds me of Texas chicken. The fast food restaurant that we used to go to all the time during middle school." Keith jokes, trying to lighten the mood of the atmosphere.

"You could possibly get yourself into dumbass trouble, I can't believe you will joke at this time of the day. Oh my goodness." Rachel bicker back as she stares at him with an unbelievable look.

"Grandma!" The girl's high pitched voice cracked through the quietness of the place...

"Yes!" a rather old voice came from the house opposite them, then an old lady appeared at the house doorstep.

"May I know who you all are?" She asked them.

"So you are the one that called us that night?" Sue asks her, writing down some notes.

"Yes. yes." The old lady replied.

Then the old lady proceeds by telling her what happened...

Basically a few minutes later, with the old lady's help. They manage to unlock the gate and enter the place. Then the old lady explains to them about what she knows.

"This place has not been occupied for some time. I rarely see people coming in or out of here. Except for that night, When I suddenly saw an unknown car pull up and a man bringing a woman in.... It was raining quite heavily that day so I couldn't see much." She explained to them.

After the explanation, the old lady showed them to the cottage that seems to belong to Lemi Gevato. Inside the house looks abandoned.

"Actually this is the only house in this area that didn't have a single soul inside, therefore the house is more or less abandoned. However nobody dares to come in here as we are worried that something terrible is hiding inside here and we won't know how to deal with it." The old lady explained further.

"This explains the dustiness of this house." John said, while coughing as they entered the house.

Everybody enters and realizes the house is not that big. Rather small.

It basically contains a built-in stove, a fireplace, some simple furniture with two rooms that seem like bedrooms... More like a guest cottage or a guest house...

"Do all houses here look like this?" Rachel asks further.

"It depends. Most folks here prefer a two-bedroom cottage like those. So that sometimes if their children come by they could sleep overnight if they wanted. While some prefer only one-bedroom as they leave alone. Mine is three-bedroom so it is kind of the largest here, as I still have my granddaughter living with me here, and my children coming over to sleep." She explained to them.

Without much hesitation, the group thanked the old lady and she bid them goodbye as she went back to her own house...

The group then begins their search...

"Ok. Let's split up and start searching." Sue command.

She then continues to start to assigning everyone to search certain parts of the house.

Everybody was searching the place halfway, when one of the officers shouted from the back of the house.

"Hey! We found something here!" He yelled.

"Coming! Rachel and Keith continue your search! John, follow me!" Sue exclaims as she is nearer to the back of the house.

"Ok" two voices replied to her.

On the other hand, Rachel and Keith were turning their heads for a split second to see what's the commotion outside as they were assigned to search the living room. Rachel then continues to search underneath a table as she comes across a wobbly board.

She called out to Keith and the two began trying to pry off that board...

"There is a false board here" Rachel exclaimed, pointing to her side as Keith turned to see what his partner found.

Keith walked over to her, and the both of them tried prying the board open.

"It won't come out." Rachel said.

"Wait. I go get-" He begins and is about to get up when they hear the front door open....

....

....

The two of them froze, as they saw a dark figure entering the house....

And....

It walks towards the table...

Where they are both underneath the table....
