Backstory
Hello readers! This is for the people who are reading this story and have no idea this fandom exists. This will be a brief description of the series but like I mentioned before, its recommended that you read the original series.
This series is about a twelve-year-old boy who ends up accidentally going into Minecraft when his father's invention, the 'digitizer' zaps him in due his own carelessness. While in the game, he learns that the creatures within the game, such as the monsters, animals and villagers, are alive. He also learns the wrongs of his former griefing ways (it sounds cheesy but hang with me) and learns to make friends. While in the game, he also faces several villains, all of which are evil (surprise), and all of which were made by a larger, more known villain, the legendary Herobrine, although he does not show up as a main villain in the first installment of the series. The main character goes by his Minecraft user name, 'Gameknight999', and ends up saving the lives in the game and outside of Minecraft several times. In the second series, Tommy (his real name) goes in a second time in pursuit of his oblivious younger sister Jenny, or otherwise known as Monet113. This is when Herobrine first shows up as a main villain and his appearance and the consequences of literally everything he does make up the rest of the series. Gameknight's father, Monkeypants273, also makes an appearance in the third trilogy installment of the series as Gameknight continues to try to take down Herobrine (apparently, he is really hard to kill since you . . . can't actually kill him; takes them about 9 books to finally manage it). He also goes in the game several more times, his friends who live in the game helping him resolve the problems of their world. He also comes to face Entity303 later in the series, but that is a whole different point in the story line, and the entirety of this fic branches off before that.
When Gameknight first came into Minecraft, he didn't understand anything about what was going on until he went to the nearby village, where he learned he was part of an important prophecy that would decide whether or not all the lives in Minecraft would survive or die. He also learns that that prophecy calls him the User-that-is-not-a-user because he's a user, but technically not connected to the server so he's not a user . . . Yeah . . .
Anyway, the villagers are named after their jobs: A villager who collects wood is called Woodcutter or a blacksmith might be called Smithy or a villager who hunts for the village food is called Hunter and so forth. The users who play the game are unaware of the fact that the villagers are indeed alive and fear the monsters of the night and the users who carelessly kill them. There is also a hidden 'crafting chamber' below each village where a NPC called Crafter resides and crafts things for the users of the world, lot's of hidden Minecraft lore and connections that are explained more in the main series, but not really relevant here. Example: the NPC's of different villages also communicate by a railroad track beneath the villages. This is the back story behind the villages themselves, but now back to the main characters.
In the first book, he meets the old NPC named Crafter and they end up becoming friends. They are also faced with the first villain, a red Enderman named Erebus, who, of course, tries to kill them. Miraculously, they actually do die, but through the power of plot convenience and getting enough XP to move into a higher level of play, Crafter and Gameknight reappear on another server to continue the adventure, although Crafter now appears as a young villager due to weird respawn mechanics. And probably also more plot convenience. On this new server, they meet another villager named Hunter, who is known highly for her excellence at archery and sarcastic remarks by the fandom. Most people in the fandom ship Hunter and Gameknight, so... Don't talk negative on the ship or the five remaining people in the fandom it will rise from the grave and come for you. Anyways, they become a trio and Hunter's younger sister is believed to be dead, but they end up saving her and she becomes an important side character known as Stitcher for the rest of the series. In the next book, they meet another character named Herder who talks to the animals and tends to them because it's his job. By this point, Gameknight and his group of friends have an entire army of villagers behind them, but it's still a large amount of living creatures. Herder has always been bullied and is continued to be called names such as 'Pigboy' because of his job and he suffers bullying from it as well. Herder eventually surprises everyone because of his talent with animals by bringing an army of wolves when the army was about to perish and became respected and called 'Wolfman'. He also is one of the other important side/main characters and remains throughout the series, always looking up to Gameknight as a idol.
One of the final more notable side characters is known as Digger, who has two young children (twins, who I might add, are adorable) and used to have a wife, but unfortunately his wife was killed due to Gameknight's former bad decisions. Lesson in consequences and all that. In the beginning, Digger is not a fan of Gameknight, rightfully borderline hated him, but they come to respect each other as time goes on.
The series is rather enjoyable, although the first few books are a little cringy due to the author, Mark Cheverton never expecting the series to have blossomed to the point it was at and not planning to have them go on for as long as they have. As the books go on, they do get remarkably better in terms of literature. Aside from maybe the beginning of the series, the books are still enjoyable and contain cheesy life lessons. If you have any questions, feel free to ask to try to avoid any confusion while reading, although most people reading this are fans of the series anyway.
Anything I missed?
