A Plan for Better or Worse
Gameknight had devised a plan. Since the weird villager, whom everyone was calling Survivor, had explained what was going on, Gameknight had spend several hours pondering what to do- spending the hours he probably didn't have. As a matter of fact, one he'd he patrolling the wall with Hunter when he, without warning, slows to a stop and flickered while muttering. Hunter was starting to get concerned when he stumbled back and rubbed the back of his head. More of these event were taking place as the hours passed.
...
"So what are we going to do about the wither boss?" Herder asked as he hurried down the steps, a wolf at his heals. Gameknight looked up and gave the boy a faint smile as he hurried down the stairs, a wolf at his heels. That boy loved his animals.
"I think I've made a plan, but it took a while to sort out. I'm not sure if we have the time left." Gameknight replied, looking at his arm as it flickered again. "I think I got everything figured out, and we need that nether star."
"So what's your plan?" Herder asked him. Gameknight knew his friends wouldn't accept his idea in a heartbeat- there was too much room for error. But there was no way around it.
"I want to talk with Survivor and see what she thinks; she has a better idea of Herobrine's plan than anyone." This was true, but there was a bigger truth to it that Gameknight was hiding.
Gameknight pushed the dread out of his system, but not before Herder caught a glimpse of it on his face. "Is someone thing wrong, Gameknight?"
Gameknight snapped to attention and squished feeling. "No- Just thinking. Can you go as Morgana to make potions? Just tell her we need them for the wither boss- I have a feeling she'll now what to do."
Herder nodded, causing his black hair to bounce around his face before retreating the steps to fulfil his commands. Gameknight watched him go with a sigh.
"So what's your plan?" Asked a voice, causing Gameknight to jump. Hunter was leaning against a pillar, concealed by shadows.
"Is it idiotic and crazy?" She asked, moving forward. Gameknight gave her a forced smile. "Definitely."
Hunter picked up on it immediately. "Is there something wrong? Something you'd like to tell us?"
Gameknight looked his friend in the eye, "No." he lied.
...
Null ran a hand down his face- he was getting annoyed. Whenever he'd try to do something, he'd find himself flickering out of control- but he already knew what was going on.
He glared at the zombie army below him. Why did he always get stuck with the stupid ones? His head throbed again as he looked around the cavern. Null ran his thoughts over his memories from the battle with Gameknight- something was important there. He thought about the brief flashback they touched and how pain...
Null's laughter filled the hall. "Of course! This is too perfect! All I have to do is kill Gameknight999 and steal his XP and we'll be one again! Except I'll be in control. That way he suffers, the villagers suffer, and I cease to suffer! Wonderful." He exclaimed, growling the last part.
Time to raise my army he thought with a wicked smile as he jumped of the plateau and the ground rushed to meet him. I also have some surprises for the him and his friends...
...
Gameknight made sure they were far from the village and at bedrock when the villagers began to build the wither chamber. Gameknight hoped his plan would work and that everything would work out fine. I hope.
"So Gameknight, what's this plan of yours?" Crafter asked as he approached. Gameknight glanced at Survivor, who insisted on coming. They had been talking about Gameknight's plan a mere hour before.
It could work.
That's what I'm afraid of.
You could be playing right into Herobrine's hands you know.
I've ran this over in my head. I have it at every angle.
What would your friends think of this?
I... I can't tell them. They would try to stop me.
What's so bad about that?
It's going to happen either way. Whether or not it has a positive outcome is up to me.
What if they see it too early?
They can't. Timing is everything.
"Just the order of events." Gameknight replied. "First we'll go to the nether, hope Grassbrin shows up, leave the gem to Morgana and fight the wither boss."
"Oh that's simple alright." Hunter growled as she pulled out her bow. Gameknight smiled bitterly. You have no idea.
Gameknight pulled out the obsidian. "Lets take it to the forest and not to the center of town?" He suggested. Digger took the blocks and moved to the watchtower.
"Follow me." He said with a smile as he slipped into the darkened hole.
...
They found a room that was vacant and had some villagers guard the entrance. Digger placed the blocks down and pulled out the flint and steal. With a quick scratch, a flame emerged the shot to the dark ring and a purple was appeared, blowing the group off their feet. Gut turning sounds filled the room, making Gameknight nauseous.
"I hate that sound." Herder growled, drawing a warning bark from his dog.
Crafter pulled out some potions and handed two to everyone once they were standing. As he tried to hand some to Digger, Survivor rushed into the room, gasping from a long run.
"I'm here- here!" She called, putting her hands on her knees to catch her breath. Crafter handed her two potions.
"Ok, are we ready?" Gameknight asked. Hunter replied with a battle cry and jumping into the swirly purple substance. Typical. The rest of the group followed in pursuit, but in a less dramatic fashion. In a few moments, Gameknight and Survivor where the only people remaining.
Survivor broke the silence. "This is going to be dangerous."
"Your a great conversationalist. Very cheery too." Gameknight replied.
"That's what a life underground does to you." She said with a wink, taking a step toward the portal. "But I'm not just talking about the Nether. I'm talking about your plan. You don't seem like a lucky guy, and although that might work to be rid of Herobrine, the chances of what your going for are... slim."
Gameknight snorted. "That's putting it nicely. Try nearly impossible."
Survivor turned to look at him. "Could your friends take that kind of blow? I'm sure Null is already plotting away, and if we run out of time, your dead either way. For you, it's death at every angle." And with that she fell into the portal, leaving Gameknight a few moments to think.
For you, it's death at every angle. No way around that. But what about my friends? And my family back at home?
His family. Gameknight ran a hand down his face and moaned. What about them? There wasn't much he could do about that. Focus on the task as hand. He thought as he stepped into the portal, fear bitting at his soul.
A/N: So, what's Gameknight's plan? I wonder if any of you can guess. If you've read the Artemis Fowl series, the last book is a major hint, wink wink.
