Movie & a Question

"What do you want to do?" She asks, looking up at me, making me feel tall for once.

"I don't know," I admit. "I didn't think that far ahead." I bring up a hand to rub at the back of my neck.

She giggles lightly at me, shaking her head. 'She has the laugh of an angel,' I muse in my head, smiling.

~ Cecelia's POV ~
Jack looks down at the ground, ashamed. I being up a hand and press it to my lips, trying to stifle my laughter.

"Sorry," I breathe out, feeling kinda bad. "How about we watch a movie?" I ask him.

Jack looks up at me, face tinted red, the tips of his ears even redder. "Uhh, yeah, sure," he stutters out.

"Lead the way," I tell him, sweeping my arm out in a 'go ahead' gesture.

He walks downstairs, me close behind. And me being the clumsy person I am, almost trip on the stairs. Key word: almost.

I sit on the couch as Jack grabs the remote. He sits next to me.

"What do you wanna watch?" Jack asks me, turning the TV to Netflix.

"I don't know," I whisper to him, wringing my hands in my lap.

Jack, getting an idea, puts the remote in my lap and gets up, walking to the kitchen.

"Pick one, I'm gonna make popcorn," he says as he disappears into the kitchen.

"Ok," I call out to him through the walls. I turn to the TV, remote in hand.

"What kind of movie do I want to watch?" I ask myself, looking at the different kinds. "There's TV shows, Action and Adventure, Anime, Children & Family, Comedies, Documentaries, Dramas, Horror, Independent, International, Romantic, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, and thrillers," I mutter out.

I'm not really in the mood for any Horror, action & adventure, international movies, so that's off the list. I haven't watched any anime so that's off too. Thrillers are also off. Not in the mood for kids movies, sadly, since they don't have Disney Movies. Documentaries are too boring.

That leaves... TV shows, Comedies, Dramas, Romantic, and Sci-Fi & fantasy. Don't want to watch any TV shows right now. Also don't want to watch any dramas. I've seen all the good comedies recently, so nope. That leaves Romantic and Sci-Fi & Fantasy, and Independent.

I haven't seen a movie if either lately, and I am in a kind of sappy mood, so I guess I'll see if I can find a movie that has two of them, if I can.

I click on romantic and look through them, passing by any cliché movies I see or that I have seen, I want to watch something new.

In the 'Romantic Independent' movie section, I find one that looks interesting. It's called 'in your eyes' (spoilers ahead). It's about two strangers who have a telepathic bond that leads to love. It sounds... Different then other movies, so that's what we'll watch. I push play and pause it immediately, waiting for Jack, wondering what was taking him so long.

He comes in a minute later, after I'm about ready to go out and see what was taking him so long.

"Sorry," he says, "I decided to make us root beer floats too." He hands me one of them, and sets the bowl down so he can put the other root beer float on the table. He picks the bowl up again and sits, setting it in his lap.

"Do what are we watching?" He asks, eating a handful of popcorn.

"A movie," I reply nonchalantly, sarcasm hiding deep in my tone. He gives me a 'no duh' look. "A romance," I tell him, giggling.

"What?" He asks, seemingly disappointed, a sharp undertone in his voice. I flinch slightly, but on closer inspection, see the playfulness and mischievous look in his eyes. I relax a little.

"Yep," I tell him, nodding. "It's what you get for making me watch that horror movie," I say playfully.

"I gave you the option to leave!" He says, defending himself.

"I already said that I would watch it with you, so I couldn't just leave," I reply, defensively.

He opens his mouth to retaliate, but closes it, defeated. "Good point," he mutters. "Start the movie now, would ya? I wanna get this over with as soon as possible," he says, keeping up his tough guy charade.

"K," I whisper, pushing play and watching the movie start. Eating popcorn and the root beer float while doing so.

I watch the little boy at school and the little girl going sledding. I watch as her sled breaks, leading her straight into a tree, the little boy almost having a seizure in the middle of class. The girl collides with the tree, the boy knocked out on the classroom floor. I watch the rest of the movie, enraptured.

I watch as when they're adults, they talk to each other through the bond. They get closer as they try to help each other, failing miserably. Dylan ends up getting fired and Rebecca put into a mental hospital.

I subconsciously inch closer to Jack as the movie progresses.

Through their bond, Dylan helps Rebecca escape. They get to a train, where Dylan gets on easily, but Rebecca is slowly falling behind. Dylan pulls her up and they stare at each other, totally enraptured.

Rebecca lifts a hand to Dylan's cheek, before she kisses him, ending the movie.

I stare at the screen for a second, in shock at how good it was, better then the description have it credit for. I glance over at Jack, seeing him already looking at me.

I only now realize that I'm sitting right next to Jack, our sides pressed together, his arm around my shoulders. So when I turn to look at him, our faces are inches apart.

I suck in a quick gasp, shocked at how close we are.

A part of me is cowering in fear, yelling at him to go away. Another part is yelling at me, saying that I love Luke, not Jack, and to run back to him. The last part is begging him to come closer, to join our lips.

I guess the last part was the loudest.

Jack leans down, closing the space between us. He brings his other hand up to my cheek, cradling it. Our lips move in sync, emotion passing between us at the joining of our lips. Of my slightly chapped ones, and his petal soft ones.

A fire spreads through me, starting at my lips and slowly spreading out. It warms me, and I reach up my arms, wrapping them around Jack's neck to pull him closer.

Sadly, we both need air so we pull away, our breathing heavy and labored. Jack rests his forehead on mind, his eyes closed.

"Sorry," he breathes out, so quietly I almost don't hear him.

"Don't worry about it," I reply just as quietly.

"Cecelia?" Jack asks me, pulling away a bit to look into my eyes.

"Yeah?" I ask him, opening mine.

"I kind of really like you and was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime," he whispers, his eyes scanning my face nervously.

"Like a date?" I ask, nervous at the idea, yet excited by it too.

"Like a date," he replies, slightly paler then usual, scared that I'll deny his offer.

"I'd love that," I whisper, my face heating up in embarrassment. Jack let's out a sigh of relief, relaxing.

"Great," he says. "Tomorrow at six?" He says questionably. I nod my head in response.

A smile works its way to my lips at the sound of Jack's relief, but nervousness is still lingering in his eyes.

"Jack," I say, getting his attention. "I can't wait for tomorrow," I whisper, causing a smile to grow on his.

"Me neither," he whispers back before giving my lips a quick peck, my heart skipping a beat as he does.
