-----------------------------------------------------
I wake to a ping from my phone. I groan and roll over, swiping out a hand and grabbing my phone, pulling it close to my face and checking to see why it dinged. I squint at the sudden light and read the text I got.

Cecelia, I want to meet
this 'Jack' guy you're
staying with. And we
need to finish the
competition!

I sigh and swipe to the side, typing in my reply.

I'd love to, but let
me ask Jack first.

I set my phone down and yawn, stretching my arms as I sit up, rubbing my bleary eyes. I glance at the clock to check the time. 9:46.

I get up, wrapping my blanket around me, and cross the hall to Jack's room. I knock softly.

"Jack?" I call out, my voice still heavy from sleep.

I hear a sudden scream, causing me to jump back and let out a scream of my own, falling to the floor with a thud.

"Ow," I mutter, straightening my kinda-not-really injured leg. I wince, pulling it back.

"You ok?" I hear an Irish accent ask. I glance up to see Jack, his head poking out of his recording room.

"Yeah, I was just having troubles waking up. I think that got fixed, though," I say, letting out a dry chuckle.

"You sure?" He asks, frowning slightly.

I bite my lip, rubbing my leg gently. Should I tell him? I mean, it's not like it's a huge deal and he does have to record.

"Cecelia? What's wrong?" Jack questions worriedly, coming to crouch in front of me.

"Nothing, I'm fine," I say, waving him off.

"The truth, Cecelia. I know something's wrong."

"Ok, fine," I start, pouting. "When you yelled, it kind of startled me so I fell on my bad leg."

"Bad leg?" He asks, brow furrowed.

"Yeah, from the.... you know," I whisper, unable to explain properly.

"Oh," he says. "Oh," his eyebrows rise as he gets my hidden meaning.

          "Yeah."

"Want me to carry you back to bed?" He offers, holding his arms open a little.

"No, no, you don't need to do that, I'll be fine," I assure, placing all my weight on my good leg so I can get up.

"I insist," he says, swooping me into his arms before I can protest. He sets me on my bed and places a kiss to my hairline. He gently perches on the bed next to me.

"I gotta get back to recording, but do you need anything?"

"No, I'm good," I say, yawning a little. "I think I'll just take a nap."

"Ok," he replies, squeezing my (good) knee gently before getting up and heading towards the door.

"Actually, wait!" I call out, remembering what I was doing up in the first place.

Jack stops, turning to face me. "Yeah?" He questions.

"I was wondering... If umm.... If I could have a friend over?" I stutter, my face turning tomato red.

"A friend?" Jack asks, unable to hide his frown.

"Yeah... She's my best friend and she'll keep this a secret, I promise," I tell him, eager to see Rosa Faith again.

"Well, if you're sure she won't--"

          "I am," I interrupt. "She won't tell a soul."

          "Then sure, why not?"

"Yay!" I squeal, doing a little dance in bed, waving my arms a little and wiggling my butt around.

"Thank you, Jack!" I exclaim happily.

"No problem," he whispers, kind of embarrassed. About what, I don't know. But he's embarrassed about something.

He turns and walks back out to finish his recording. I get a realization.

"Sorry for interrupting recording!" I scream, hoping he'll hear me.

"Don't worry about it!!" He yells back.

I grin happily and grab my phone, texting Rosa Faith Jack's address.

Hurry up! :P

Yeah, yeah on my
way. See you soon!

Jack will be busy
working, so you won't
see much of him.

I send the last text as a warning, knowing she would want to interrogate Jack to make sure he's ok for me to live with.

If only she knew....

Then it hits me like an elephant to the face. She doesn't know Jack and I are dating. That could be bad.

She's always picky on who I date, and after Luke, she'll be harder on any potential boyfriend I may have.

Well this visit will be interesting, at least.

I've already texted her, so there's no going back now.

So I just sigh, sit back and wait for her to show.

I play some mindless game on my phone until it pings with another text.

I exit the game and read it.

I'm here, Cece. Let
me in!

Okay, okay, okay.
I'm coming, just give
me a minute.
:P

:P

I giggle lightly at the end before shoving the blankets off, setting my phone to the side. I quickly grab my unfinished drawing and set it on the bed before heading downstairs.

I hobble a bit because my leg is still kinda sore, but I make it, opening the door to reveal Rosa Faith with grocery bag full of art supplies in hand.

I give her a smile and usher her in. She steps in and looks around, taking it all in.

I wait for her to give her ok. She does, after a minute, turning to me and giving me a little nod.

"So where are we doing this?" She asks, putting on a bright exterior, and shaking off her uneasiness.

"We can do it in the living room, or my bedroom. Your choice," I reply, gesturing with my arms to where the rooms are located.

She peeks in the sitting room.

"Your room," she decides. "Sitting room doesn't look too comfy."

"Alright, then. Come on," I say, grabbing her arm and leading her upstairs.

She chuckles and let's me guide her.

I pause outside my bedroom door to point out the bathroom to her, "Bathroom is there. Jack's room is across the hall, and the room at the end on the right is his.... Work room," I falter, but come up with an excuse. A bad excuse, but an excuse nontheless.

"Work room?" She asks, lifting an eyebrow. "What does he do?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

"Sure I will. Come on, Cece, spill it."

"He's a YouTuber," I mutter, glancing away.

"A YouTuber?" Both her eyebrows shoot up now. "Is he anyone we know? That would be so--"

I put my hand over her mouth, interrupting her.

"I will introduce you with one condition," I say. Rosa Faith nods her head, looking suspicious.

"No squealing, yelling, or otherwise fangirling. And you can't tell anyone," I tell her sternly, pulling my hand away from her mouth and letting it fall back to my side.

"I'm pretty sure that was more then one, but ok," she agrees.

"There's also something else you should know," I say nervously, fiddling with my hands and tucking my hair behind my ear.

"And what is that?" She asks.

"I'm.... Dating him," I tell her, squeezing my eyes shut and turning away from her slightly.

After nothing happens, I cautiously open an eye, seeing her standing there with her eyes wide and mouth hanging open.

I carefully reach out and push he has shut, swallowing when I see that it stays in place. Her eyes have narrowed, not in a glare, but in a 'how dare you' sort of way.

"You are what?" She asks, emphasizing the what.

"Dating Jack," I finish, inching slowly away.

"Yeah, I got that, but-- when. How. You. He. I," she trips over her words, saying seemingly random things.

"I really like him, Rosa Faith. He's not anything like Luke. And he never will be. He's too nice for that," I confess, rendering her speechless again.

"But how do you know that, Cecelia? How do you know that this isn't some trick, some façade to get you to fall for him?" She asks.

"Because I do," I tell her.

"How do you know he's not exactly like Luke?" She whispers.

"Because I trust that he won't change. Not for the worse. If he changes, it'll be for the better."

"Now do you wanna meet him or not?" I ask, casting away the dark mood. "Cause we can stand here all day," I say sarcastically.

"No, no, let's go meet him," she says, shaking her head.

"Ok," I say, walking to his door. "Don't be too hard on him," I warn over my shoulder.

I hear a grunt/hum of acknowledgement.

I just sigh and knock on the door, twisting the handle open. Jack doesn't hear me, too engrossed in his game. I turn and gesture for Rosa Faith to wait there for a minute.

Well at least I can say that I tried to get his attention.

I see a horror game playing on screen. Perfect.

Jack is totally engrossed in the game. Eyes glued to the screen, fingers gripping the mouse a little too tightly.

I tiptoe across the room, trying my best to stay out of frame so he won't see me. I end up crouched behind his chair, a wicked grin on my face.

Suddenly, I stand up, ripping off Jack's headphones and yelling "boo!" right into his ear, startling him and causing him to let out a scream and die in-game.

He pauses before he whirls around, looking at me with wide eyes, pale face, and trembling breaths. His deep purple shirt just makes him look even paler.

"You scared me!" He scolded. Not very well, but he tried.

I nod my head slowly. "Yeah... That was kind of the point," I say.

"And why would you do something like that?" He asks, catching his breath, color slowly returning to his face.

"Because it was fun," I reply.

"Fun?" He asks, raising his eyebrows. "Fun. You think that was fun, why I'm gonna--"

"Rosa Faith is here," I cut in. He gives me a little playfully glare.

"What? She wants to meet you," I smile innocently. "Don't you want to meet her?" I ask, turning my smile into a pout.

His glare softens upon seeing my pout. "Alright," he sighs, "bring her in."

"What is this, an execution?" I tease, walking to the door to get Rosa Faith.

I peek my head hot and gesture for her to enter. "Come on in!" I say cheerfully.

She gives me a weird look before entering, stopping dead in her tracks once she sees the bright green head of hair and shocking blue eyes.

I walk up behind Rosa Faith and place a hand on her elbow, urging her to introduce herself.

She stands still, face frozen with shock.

"Rosa Faith, this is Jack. Jack, this is Rosaline Faith, Rosa Faith for short," I introduce when it becomes clear that she won't, bouncing my gaze between their faces, nervous.

"Nice to meet ya," Jack says, pushing himself off his chair and giving her a hug. "I take it you're a fan?"

Rosa Faith nods wordlessly into his shoulder.

Her arms wrap around Jack's back hesitantly, before clamping on tight, tears appearing in her eyes.

Her mouth opens and closes, Lookin for words to say, but finding none.

"Jack?" I ask, placing a hand on his shoulder. He realizes that they've been hugging for a while and let's go, having to practically peel her off of him.

I give Rosa Faith, a 'go ahead' look, encouraging her to give Jack 'the talk'.

She snaps to attention, her expression hardening, but there's still a look of utter joy in her eyes. She's elated to meet Jack in person.

"You hurt her, I'll hurt you," she warns weakly, jabbing a finger into his chest.

"Of course," he says, pulling me into a hug. "I wouldn't expect any less."

They share a nod over my head while I wrap my arms around Jack's stomach, resting my head on his chest.

I sigh, realizing that I have to go and unwind my arms from Jack's waist, unwillingly, taking Rosa Faith to the hallway, telling her that Jack needs to finish recording.

She nods and walks with me to my room. We sit on the bed where everything is set up, our drawings face down on the bed.

We sit on opposite sides and she stops me before I can do anything.

"Wait," she says, her tone dark with an emotion I can't recognize.

"Hmm?" I look carefully up at her, nervous at to what this conversation will bring.

"Why didn't you tell me you were dating Jack?" She asks, looking at the covers of the bed dejectedly.

"Because I didn't know how to. What was I supposed to say. 'Hey Rosa Faith, you know your favorite YouTuber, Jacksepticeye? Yeah, I'm dating him. Oh! I'm also living with him," I spout sarcastically, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Yeah, you're right," she says, nodding. "I guess I can be a little... Judgmental about who you date."

"Mm hmm," I agree, nodding my head. "Now are we gonna finish this competition or what?" I ask, grabbing my drawing, already knowing her answer.

She grabs her drawing too, wordlessly giving me her answer.

We silently grab what we need and start drawing, but not before I start playing some music on my phone.

I get engrossed in drawing, mindlessly humming along to the song playing, softly mumbling a few words here and there.

After a couple hours, I finish. I set it off to the side and stretch out my fingers, sighing. I look over to see Rosa Faith doodling randomly on a blank sheet of paper. She must've finished earlier. But that's nothing new, she always finishes first.

"How did you do?" I ask, startling her out of her trance. She jumps back, her head snapping up to look at me.

"Oh," she says, blinking. "Good. I did pretty good. You?"

"Good," I say, grinning. "Ready to reveal?" I ask, holding my drawing.

"Yep," she replies, nodding, holding her drawing to her chest.

"On the count of three," I say, closing my eyes.

"One. Two. Three," we chant in unison, flipping our drawing around and opening our eyes.

I look at her drawing.

Jack looks solemn, wearing a suit. I nod, approving, before glancing at mine.

She nods at mine before we set them down side by side, looking over at them, ready to critique the others.

"You can go first this time," Rosa Faith says, scanning her eyes over my drawing.

"The clothes are great, but your hair could use some work, it looks lifeless," I say. Rosa Faith looks at her drawing and nods, accepting the criticism.

"Yeah, I'll work on that," she says. "Your eyes are awesome, but you could work on his shirt a bit. It looks... Off," she says, tilting her head.

I look at it and realize she's right, nodding my head, letting her know she didn't go too far.

"I think mines better," I declare, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Well I think mines better," she retaliates, sitting up straighter and turning to face me.

We both crack a grin as we mentally prepare ourselves for the verbal battle that's about to take place.

I refuse to lose this time.
