"We're almost there," Jack says, startling me a little. "We'll be there in about 10 minutes," he says, giving me a small apologetic smile, rubbing his thumb over the back of my hand soothingly.

"Ok," I say, relaxing at how soothing his hand in mine is.

"Can you close your eyes?" Jack asks me a few minutes later. "I want to surprise you," he says, kind of quietly, shy.

I look at him, slightly hesitant.

"You don't have to," he adds quickly, seeing my expression. "It's ok if you don't trust me," he says, sounding a little sad.

"No, no, no," I say, shaking my head. "I do, I trust you. I was just surprised is all," I explain, hoping to ease his sadness.

"Oh," he says, looking unsure now. "I'm glad you trust me," he whispers, like its a secret. I nod in response, unsure of what else to do.

He reaches out, holding a black scarf or shirt or something. He looks in my eyes. "Are you sure you trust me?" He asks, making sure I'm ok with it. I nod my head silently, unable to talk.

"Ok..." He mumbles, carefully tying the thing around my eyes, making sure I can't see.

"Stay put," he says, and I hear the door open and shut, some muffled footsteps outside the car.

"I don't know if I should," I whisper back as he runs to open my door. "I'm scared too, but I can't help it," I say under my breath. So quiet in that I almost don't hear it.

I hear - and feel - the door open next to me, letting in a cool gust of air. I shiver lightly at the feeling. I feel a warm hand on my arm, startling me (again).

"Sorry," Jack mumbles, moving slower. I hold back a flinch as his hand trails up my scarred arm, grabbing hold of my hand and elbow.

"Careful now," he says, carefully guiding me out of the car. "We don't want you to fall. Though I'd try my best to catch you if you did, but that's beside the point."

He carefully guides me forwards, leading me to an unknown destination. I trip over my feet a couple times, but Jack catches me as he said he would. It takes a while for dis to reach the place - maybe five minutes?

Jack stops, turning me slightly before his hands disappear from my arms, moving to the back of my head to untie the blindfold. He gently pulls it off, revealing a hill.

There's a blanket spread out, an old fashioned picnic basket sitting on a corner. The sun is large and gently lights up the area, slowly descending into the horizon.

I gasp, bringing my hands up to my mouth in shock. I twirl around to see Jack giving me an unsure smirk, looking scared.

"Jack how did you...?" I ask him, wanting to know.

"I told you earlier, didn't I?" He asks, shrugging. "I like you. And that means that you deserve the best." His face heats up during his last sentence, the tips of his ears turning red.

"It's great, Jack. I love it," I tell him excitedly. I grab his hand in mine, happily dragging him over to the little setup he had.

I hear Jack's chuckle as he sits down, releasing my hand in favor of grabbing the basket. He drags it closer to is and pulls out the stuff inside.

I laugh when he pulls out a pizza box and some soda, throwing my head back a little. Jack laughs lightly at my reaction.

"Sorry," he says, "I didn't really know what else to get."

"It's fine, Jack," I tell him. "I like pizza." I give him a smile, placing my hand on his reassuringly, seeing the fear vanish from his face.

"Good," Jack mutters. "I was afraid...." He trails off, unsure.

"Afraid of what, Jack?" I ask, slightly worried.

"That you'd expect to go to some fancy restaurant or something," he whispers, looking down at his lap shyly.

"Of course not," I scoff. "I'd choose a hillside picnic over a fancy restaurant any day," I tell him, squeezing his hand.

Jack also grabs some paper plates and passes me one, opening the pizza box to reveal pepperoni pizza. I drool a little at the smell. It's been so long since I've had pizza.

Jack plops a couple pieces on my plate and I start eating happily, inwardly moaning a little at how good it tastes.

Once the pizza and soda is gone, Jack scoots over and puts an arm over my shoulder, looking out towards the horizon. I glance over too.

"It's so pretty, isn't it?" I ask, looking wistfully at the sunset, wishing I had my camera with me.

"Yeah it is," Jack says sounding a little distracted. I look over to see him quickly turning his head to the sunset.

Was Jack.... Looking at me? No. That's impossible, right? Why would he be looking at me when there's a gorgeous sunset right there?

But wait. If he was looking at me then.... Was he saying that I'm.... Beautiful? No, of course not.

I lean my head on Jack's shoulder, looking at the sunset with him. I felt Jack's head tip to the side, resting on mine lightly. And we jus sit there for a while. Watching the sunset, silence in the air, just absorbing each other's presence. Enjoying the company.

Just as the sun is about to fully disappear under the horizon, Jack pulls away, turning to look at me. He pulls something out of the basket that I can't see. He holds it out of my view.

"I have a question for you," he says nervously. "It's important."

I frown a little. "Ask away," I tell him, turning to face him fully.

He hands me the thing and I grab it to see that it's.... Clothing? I look down at it, confused. I try to straiten it out, unable to see what it says in the dark.

I hear a small click and suddenly there's light everywhere. I look up to see small twinkling white lights strung up on the trees. I gasp a little.

I look down at the... Shirt to see that it says 'Jecelia' with a septiceye on it. I turn it over to see 'Jack's girl' written on the back. I blush, looking up at Jack. He looks really nervous.

"So will you?" He asks, bringing me out of my shocked stupor.

"Will I what?" I ask, wanting to hear him say it.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks, squeezing his eyes shut worriedly.

I drop the shirt, lunging forward to hug Jack. More like tackle him, but that's beside the point. Jack falls backwards, his back hitting the floor with a soft thud. His arms instinctively reach up to grab my hips, keeping me from falling.

"You ok?" He asks, a worried frown on his face. I nod my head a little, out of breath. Jack's face relaxes slightly.

          "Yes," I say, "I will."

"You will what?" He asks, smirking.

"Yes, I will be your.... Girlfriend," I say, having to pause for a moment mid-sentence.

Jack lifts his head a little to join his lips to mine. We kiss for a moment, stopping only because of my smile. I move my head so that I'm resting my forehead on his, a giant grin on both of our faces.

I adjust myself so that I'm more comfortable. I lay half on half off Jack, resting my head on his shoulder, laying a hand over his heart (which is racing slightly), the other one under his head, and tangling our legs together. One of his arms is wrapped around to my back, holding me steady. His other arm is laying in his stomach, inches away from mine.

And we look at the stars for a while. Well, I'm more focused on the fact that I'm cuddling with Jack, but I glanced at the sky every now and then. Jack's hand is tracing random figures into my back, soothing me.

I move my hand on his chest to trace shapes on his chest, feeling his heart race slightly faster.

And that's how we stay for a while, cuddling on a blanket, him tracing shapes on my back, and me tracing shapes on his chest. Just soaking in the other's company.

I sigh contentedly, my eyes feeling heavy. My hand slows it's tracing until it stops, resting once again on his chest, over his heart. I try to stay awake, but the calming motion of Jack's hand on my back lulls me to sleep.

I'm back! Yay! *blows party popper* Who wants cake?
I hope you all liked this part. I worked really hard on this and I'm not too sure how it turned out at some parts.
Also autocorrect killed me. Literally. It autocorrected 'lulls' to 'kills'. And I almost didn't see it. So it said 'the calming motion of Jack's hand kills me to sleep'. And I was *this* close to posting it like that, but I saw it before I uploaded this part. Just thought I'd let you all know. I hope it made you laugh or smile.
Anyway, please vote and comment if you liked this part. Don't be a silent reader.
