I held Aiden's hand tight into mine as we walked beside Emily and Edmund. We were currently going at Tyler's club where we hoped to find some proofs against Evans. I told Mr Moore whatever I witnessed the other night while he gave me a concerned look while watching my scars closely. Emily was crying uncontrollably while Edmund held her tight and comforted her while patting on her back gently. I felt bad while looking at her and my mother to be very honest as they both were shaken to the core. Dad offered to move out of the Northwood but we can't until this whole thing gets resolved.
Elijah, Tyler or even Mrs Wittnakar didn't confess anything at all. Neither to their crimes nor they said any name or anything as to why they did what they did. They were shut no matter what torture they were going through. I don't understand what is at the stake?
I sighed when Aiden stopped at some distance and looked around the surrounding to scan it and take a cue if someone is hiding anywhere or if anyone is inside the house. I didn't take much efforts to move my head as my neck hurts like shit. My head is banging as well even though I took the medicines. The pain is making it impossible for me to move but I won't let it show. Mom and Dad were reluctant to send me away but I made them understand that it's not safer for me anywhere so it's better if I go out for a bit and take some fresh air rather than staying in that room with some mind-blogging thoughts. I looked up by holding my neck from back. The sky was partly clear as the dark clouds surrounded some part of it. I wish it rains today as maybe it will put my mind to rest. I love rains and the water falling from the sky on the ground giving life to everyone around makes me feel at peace. The air was chilly which was surprising. I looked straight again as the pain forming in the neck was unbearable. I took a few deep breaths.
"Is it hurting?" Emily asked. I moved my gaze to meet her worried eyes. I tried to smile but hurt myself in the process as the scars on my cheek pained sending deep sensations throughout my body. I shivered with immense pain.
"I told you to not come along and instead go home," She said again with slight frustration. I sighed. I understand her but she won't ever understand as to how it feels to stay in that room with fear creeping through your mind with every slight movement.
"Relax, I am fine," I said with a gentle nod. She shook her head in disappointment.
"Faith, you never listen," she said again with a big frown. I sighed again.
"Can we please focus on the task in hand?" I asked with a little annoyance. I want this thing to get over real quick. I can't bear this pain anymore. "It will be over once we catch him," I said and smiled. Edmund and Emily nodded slightly.
"It won't be over by just catching him..." Aiden said in a low voice being in his own thoughts. I frowned hearing him. What is it now? Does he know something more?
"What?" Edmund asked looking confused. I and Emily had the same expressions by now. Aiden looked at us and his expressions got changed as if reality hit him hard.
"I mean he needs to confess for his crimes, right?" he said sounding suspicious. My frown deepened but I didn't say anything.
"Yes, but I am sure he will. We just need to find some solid proofs which are against him," Edmund said. Emily nodded. I remained in my own thoughts thinking about what possibly he meant when he said those words. Why wouldn't it be enough if we catch Evans? Isn't he the main thing we need right at the moment?
"Faith," Aiden's voice brought me back to present and I looked at him dumbfoundedly.
"I am not going back. I won't," I said making my voice louder with the same frown. Aiden chucked hearing me.
"You don't have to be. I don't even want you to leave," he said to my surprise. Okay! That wasn't the thing I expected him to say.
"Huh?" I asked being confused. He sighed and held my hand tighter.
"I promise that I won't let anything happen to you," he said again. I smiled.
"We won't let anything happen to you, Faith," Edmund said making me smile wider. I feel bad that their responsibility for me has increased now as I have crushed down but it's my right to trouble them.
"But why don't you want her to be in her home where she can be safer?" Emily asked with a frown.
"She was in her home, Emily all along when those things happened to her," Aiden said. That's right! He sighed further as Emily kept on frowning at him.
"Besides, it will make me worry and I will keep on thinking about her and it won't work as I won't be able to focus on anything," he said making my eyes widen. I contained my smile as a blush formed on my cheeks. I tried hard to hide it. Aiden has never been for romance or cheesy things. He was a rather serious, dark and straightforward guy so this was quite a surprise for me.
"Aw, since when did you start getting so cheesy, Aiden?" Emily said giving us a teasing smile.
"That's something new, dude. Has this whole thing affected your brain in some way?" Edmund said with a chuckle. Aiden threw a glare at him.
"Dude, I am still good unlike you who gets so cheesier with Rose," he said. Yes, he has already surpassed all levels of being cheesy along with Rose.
"Right, that reminds me that I haven't seen her around," Emily asked. Now when I actually think, I haven't seen her around as well. Even at school. I was too much into myself that I forgot about everyone around it seems. Edmund looked away and let out a sigh.
"We broke up," he said making us all confused. We three exchanged a look. Broke up? They looked so much in love then why.
"What? Why?" Emily asked. Edmund let out another sigh.
"She keeps on dragging Aiden and badmouth about him," he said with irritation, "I can't take it and made my stand clear." he finished with a shrug. I looked at Aiden who was unable to express himself and stayed the same. I shook my head in disappointment looking at my idiot boyfriend.
"That's fine. It would have become clear with time anyway," Aiden said finally. Edmund shook his head.
"No, she kept on asking me to choose between you and her and I guess I made my choice," he said and smiled looking at Aiden.
"Aw," Emily said as if she read my mind. Those two are adorable. Aiden looked around awkwardly not knowing how to behave in this situation. I chuckled.
"Are you serious? You loved her," He said a little awkwardly. I smiled.
"I care for you more and I can't leave you alone in this shit, Aiden," Edmund said looking away as well and being awkward too. I looked at Emily who shook her head slightly. Edmund looked back at us after a few moments.
"I know that I am not as brave as any of you present here but I have made a promise to myself that I won't let anything happen to any of you," he said. I gave him an emotional look. Aw! He is a sweetheart.
"You..." Emily shouted making us all jerk. She wiped some tears dramatically as she spoke again, "I hate you but you just keep talking like this and make me emotional."
"I love you, Edmund," She said and ran to hug Edmund. I and Aiden chuckled as I rushed to hug those two as well. Aiden just kept looking at us.
"I love you too, guys," Edmund said as he pulled me and Emily closer.
"Thanks," Aiden said. We pulled away from each other and stared at him.
"Really? Since when you started thanking me?" Edmund asked raising her eyebrows.
"You still don't know how to express yourself, Aiden Wright. Work on it," Emily said and we laughed it out looking at even more awkward Aiden.
"I will," he said rubbing the back of his neck. We started laughing harder looking at his state. People will find us crazy if they find us laughing like this. We have been through so much and we still are on a mission but until we four are with each other everything will be fine.
"Anyway, so the plan is..." Aiden said looking completely disappointed with us. We straighten us up and gave him attention. Aiden sighed and looked around for one more time. I know what he is planning by just looking at his face.
"We are going in together," I said glaring him. Aiden looked taken aback by my sudden attack.
"How do you know?" He asked narrowing his eyes. I shrugged.
"Well, I know you very well, Aiden. More than you think," I said still glaring at him. He sighed.
"We are going inside together else no one is going anywhere," Edmund said. I and Emily nodded in agreement.
"Fine. I understand," Aiden said and looked ahead, "Just don't get hurt. Any of you."
"And don't repeat the mistakes of last time," he said further tilting his head to look at us, "Run when I ask you to."
"Okay, sir," Emily said loudly making us chuckle again. We looked ahead at the club which was closed just when Jake came out of the door stumbling on his feet.
He looked wasted. His hairs were messy, his clothes were baggy and he looked as if he hasn't had a shower in days. Gross! His asshole attitude seemed to be gone too as he looked kind of scared. Maybe got to know about doings of Tyler and his father or maybe something more. We kept our silence and kept our eyes on Jake's every move. His eyes wandered around and then stopped right on us at front. His eyes widened for a moment and the very next moment he started running around.
The stupid idiot didn't go inside the club where he could have shut the door and refrained Aiden to get him. I mean that would have at least made him buy some time. Wait! Why the fuck am I giving him ideas? It's a good thing for us that he is dumb. But he isn't as dumb as he shows. He was running towards the parking where his car was standing. If runs away now then I don't know how and when will we get him again. He might do something as well. We need to stop him.
I was a good runner but I was in no state. Emily stood beside me while Aiden and Edmund went after him wasting no time. Aiden was an athlete. He has been on the ground playing all kinds of sports ever since he started walking. I looked at them nervously. Aiden matched Jake's speed in no time and grabbed his shirt. Jake stumbled and lost his balance as he fell on the ground. Aiden stopped by his side panting hard while Edmund tried to catch up and did the same in no time.
I looked at Emily who held me tight as we started walking to where they were. Jake was still falling on the ground as he was trying to register as to what happened. He held his head and looked at Aiden with a death glare. Aiden was unaffected by the same as he bent forward and held Jake's collar and pulled him up so he can stand on his feet but he didn't let go of his hold. I and Emily in the meantime reached the spot.
"You won't be getting anything here, Wright," Jake said showing his ugly laughter.
"Did Evans come by?" Aiden asked throwing draggers at Jake. He shook his head rapidly and stopped looking at Aiden after a few moments.
"Why would Evans come here?" he asked with a smirk. I narrowed down my eyes at him. Aiden gritted his teeth showing the sigh that he was losing his patience.
"Don't try my patience, Jake. Your Tyler won't be coming to save you now," Aiden said tightening his grip around Jake's collar and making him struggle.
"You are the reason that everything got fucked up," Jake hissed at Aiden and tried to free himself from Aiden's grip but he was strong.
"Tyler shouldn't have allowed you in here," Jake said again.
"So you are siding with the murderers?" Aiden asked raising his eyebrows.
"Murders? They say they didn't do it," Jake said. Aiden let out a laugh.
"And you bought that? You are such a pity thing," he said making Jake furious.
"Shut your fucking mouth, Wright," Jake said gritting his teeth.
"Tell us what you know," Aiden said. I sighed knowing Jake won't open that easily. Jake smirked and put his hand up in air suddenly. The very next moment before we can process anything he punched Aiden in his stomach. Aiden winced with pain and left his grip loose freeing Jake. He smiled uglily looking at us and was about to run when Emily jumped in and grabbed his hair just when he was about to turn around. Jake shouted with pain when Emily pulled his locks. I rushed to Aiden's side while Edmund went to help Emily.
I helped Aiden to get back on his feet. Aiden coughed a few time and glared at Jake. Edmund shoved a few punches on Jake's stomach while Emily held him with full strength. Aiden took a few heavy steps in Jake's direction and pulled him away from Emily and Edmund. He stumbled again and fell on the floor with the sudden force. Aiden got above him in no time and pulled him up by holding his collar tight. He started punching Jake's face continuously. Jake was shouting with pain but Aiden showed no mercy. He kept on punching him. I looked at Edmund with terror and in fear that Aiden might end up doing something bad. His anger is no joke.
"Aiden, stop," Edmund rushed to his side and held his arm tight. Aiden gritted his teeth and pushed Jake away. He banged on the floor and held his head tight in hand. His face was covered in the blood.
"Allow us in," Aiden said after some time looking down at Jake. Jake struggled to seat. He looked at Aiden for a few moments.
"For what? There is nothing in there," he said with a shrug and so much pain.
"You know their hideout," Jake said again as he spitted the blood out.
"Police already raided it and found nothing," Aiden said.
"Police raided here too," Jake said.
"But we didn't," Aiden said in a challenging tone, "Open up else I will turn you down too."
"I haven't done anything," Jake said and I could see some flashed of fear in his voice. Aiden smirked.
"Really? Then why did you run away instead of showing your annoying smile and make us frustrated and who cleared the blood at Wittnakar's house?" he asked raising his eyebrows.
"You know nothing," Jake said and got up with great strength.
"Trust me when I say this but I know more than anyone," Aiden said giving jake a cold glare. I looked at Aiden with confusion. What does he know more?
"And I want you to help me find something against Evans," Aiden said further.
"Why would I help you?" Jake asked. Aiden let out a laugh.
"You work for money more than people and I am willing to pay you," he said.
"Money. How much?" Jake asked looking interested in the offer all of sudden.
"Whatever you want," Aiden said with a shrug. Jake thought for a few moments and looked at Aiden.
"Fine. I will let you in but I wasn't around," he said. I sighed feeling relieved.
"Deal," Aiden said with a nod making me frown at him.
*************
We found the whole area of this club and found nothing. Jake stayed close to us so we can keep an eye on him. Aiden was pretty adamant as he kept on insisting that we will get something here. I gave up pretty sooner and sat on one chair keeping my stare on Jake who looked a whole new person now. He wasn't flirting and neither was showing his annoying smirk but instead, he was sitting on the floor and thinking something deeply. I wonder what it might be.
"Wright," Jake said after a few more minutes. Aiden stopped along with Emily and Edmund as we all looked at Jake. He looked up from the ground with the same thoughtful face.
"Check the hidden case which is inside the cabin," Jake said again.
"Hidden case?" Aiden asked looking confused.
"I saw it once accidentally and was thinking if it's in there," Jake said with a nod, "Whatever you want." He looked genuine but I still didn't feel like trusting him.
"Aiden, don't trust him," I said with a glare.
"It's behind the shelf. Just knock on the wall and you will find the door," Jake said ignoring my words.
"Aiden, no," I shouted again. Aiden sighed and looked at me.
"We need to try out. This is our only hope," he said. I frowned hearing him.
"But it can be a trap," Edmund said. Exactly!
"I am in front of your eyes, Harris. How do you think I could have contacted Evans? Telepathy?" Jake said. He is right too.
"Shut up, Jackass," Edmund shouted and then moved his gaze to Aiden. He was in his thoughts as he kept on looking down at the ground.
When he was done deciding, he looked at Edmund with determination.
"Edmund, stay here and keep eye on him. I will go and check," He said much to my and Edmund's disappointment. Edmund just nodded his head in agreement but didn't say anything more. Because there is no point. I frowned and didn't look at Aiden. I could feel his gaze on me but I was mad at him.
"I will come along too," Emily said.
"Okay," Aiden said and I could feel them both walking away.
The next few moments passed along and we could just hear the loud sound of shelf movement as Emily and Aiden tried searching for something. I sighed and sat still in my position. Jake was resting his head on the wall at back while Edmund was walking around recklessly. My eyes moved to the giant clock on the wall. It was close to evening. We had to change our night plan to daylight as I wouldn't have been able to come along otherwise. I sighed again and looked at Jake who was still in some position.
Aiden and Emily came out with empty hands and looked disappointed. I sighed again. Jake shook his head slightly while Edmund sighed with disappointment.
"We should leave I suppose," Edmund said.
"Why so soon, Harris?" My eyes got widened as I looked to the entrance. Evans stood there with a wide smile and closed the door behind. My heart started beating rapidly inside my chest. Jake got up from his seat and looked at us.
"When did you contact him?" Edmund shouted. Jake shook his head.
"I didn't. I don't betray money," Jake said.
"He didn't. He is mingy and his loyalty changes with the offer he gets," Evans said giving a glare to Jake. He looked down not knowing what to do.
"Then how did you find us?" Aiden asked. Evans let out a loud laugh.
"I have my men to keep a watch on you, Wright," he said with a smile still on his face.
"What do you want from us?" Aiden asked again.
"I wanted you all to stay out of our business but none of you listened," Evans said taking steps towards us. It made me even more nervous. I was breathing heavily as I watched him and his wicked smile. He looked at me as he stopped right in front. He tilted his head and smirked slightly.
"Ms Anderson. I never wanted to harm you. Trust me," he said dramatically, "I adore you but you left me with no choice."
"I saw you the other day looking so scared and it didn't take time for me to get that you might have meddled in my business again. I rushed inside and saw the file on the table," he said again as his look changed. I got scared.
"How stupid you are. A stupid little girl," Evans said and took a step but Aiden got in between us. I let out a sigh of relief.
"EVANS. I will kill you," He said gritting his teeth. Evans let out a loud laugh making me even more scared.
"My men are here, Wright. No one can do anything," he said getting his head closer to Aiden. Aiden has a well built psychic because of his sports and he came right at the height of Evans. Evans looked past Aiden at me.
"This girl just kept on getting on my nerves. I asked Elijah to kill her but you..." Evans said being furious.
"Wright, you just ruined my whole plan," he said again through gritted teeth as he looked at Aiden.
"I took my sweet little time to open the door but it was of no use," he said again.
"You did it. You guys actually murdered people? Why?" Jake asked grabbing the attention. Evans looked back at him and let out a chuckle.
"Because they got to know the tiny little secrets," he said.
"That doesn't give you the right to kill anyone," Emily said with so much anger. Evans gave her an impressive look.
"Why did Elijah and Tyler help you out," Edmund asked.
"You kids are too curious about something you shouldn't be," Evans said with a chuckle.
"But as they say you should complete the wish before killing someone else they will haunt you," he said as he looked around at us with a smirk. I breathed heavily again. I feared not for me but for the three people who I dragged along with my own stupidity.
"Kill?" Jake asked widening his eyes. The fear was clearly visible on his face.
"You think I will let you all go after presenting myself to you?" Evans asked raising his eyebrows. He chuckled slightly and moved his neck to release the tension. He sighed and looked at Edmund.
"Elijah needed money to save his older son from cancer and I offered him that. He has been loyal," he said taking another deep breath, "Tyler joined to save his father as for Wittnakar..."
"That stupid lady was in to take care of legal things and to trap Wright so we found her weakest link," he said further and looked at me and Aiden with a smirk.
"Her son," I said. Evans shook his head slightly with an impressive smile as he went on, "We scared her and it worked."
"But later she started becoming a pain in the ass," he said making a pained face. He sighed again and looked at Aiden, "I am glad I sent Tyler the other day at her house..."
"It saved my ass as you could have found everything and it might have ended then and there," he said and started laughing weirdly. I held Aiden's hand tight from the back.
"Anyway so who is ready to die first?" Evans asked raising his eyebrows and looking around the room.
"You... You are going to," Aiden gritted his teeth and shoved a punch towards Evans by taking a few big steps. Evans was not ready and got hit on his face as he stumbled backwards.
"NO, Aiden," I shouted and looked at Edmund who was rushing to help his friend but a guy came in from the door and grabbed him shoving some punches. I stood stunned there and looked around. Emily rushed to help Edmund as they both fought back with the guy.
Jake was standing at one corner looking scared. Evans grabbed Aiden's neck but he was quick enough to jerk him away. But Evans was in the police department. A well-trained officer so he had an upper hand. He dodged Aiden's attack with ease. He moved his hands in air rapidly and shoved them in Aiden's stomach making him cough hard. I looked around and my eyes landed on the tint of beer. I rushed towards the counter and took it in my hand.
Emily and Edmund were struggling with the new guy as they tried hard to fight with him. I need to call someone but how. I looked around and spotted Jake who was stuck with the wall as if it will shield him with any attacks. But I have to save Aiden. God! What should I do?
I started running towards Aiden. Evans held him to the ground and took his hand up when I reached there and shoved the tint right into his head making the glass shatter on the ground. Aiden put his hands in front of his face to cover it from the falling glass. I breathed heavily looking if anything worked and it did slightly. Aiden pushed Evans hard as he fell on the ground along with the glasses. The blood started coming out of the wound I made on his head. He was recovering when Aiden managed to get up and punched him hard. Evans stumbled yet again and fell on the ground.
"Faith, call Moore and ask him to come here immediately," Aiden shouted looking at me. I nodded.
"Jake, help him," I shouted looking at Jake who looked completely scared.
Evans got up and stood on his feet as he looked behind at the guy. Emily got the grab of a metal rod and hit hard on the other guy's head. He fell on the ground getting unconscious.
"Did I kill him?" Emily asked looking scared. Edmund got down and checked on him. He looked up at us.
"He seems to be okay for now," Edmund said. Evans was holding his head gave us a murderous glare.
"I will kill you all," Evans shouted and ran towards Edmund. Aiden moved quickly to grab him but Evans was too strong for any of us. Emily was about to do the same but Evans was too quick to hold her as he gave a rough push to her. She stumbled and got hit by the table resting on the side. I gasped and was about to rush but Edmund was quick enough to grab her.
"Emily," I cried and looked at Evans with terror. He smiled at me. Aiden was stunned for a moment as he kept looking at Emily lying on the floor. A few tears left my eyes and I ran towards her only to get grabbed by Evans. He pulled me away by grabbing my hairs. I cried again closing my eyes shut. I was shut from my surrounding as he kept on pulling me. I heard Aiden and Edmund but I couldn't look as I was in pain. I screamed again holding my head and neck which were paining deep.
Suddenly, the grip on my hair loosen and I was left away. My head was spinning around as a few tears left my eyes. I sniffed hard as anger built inside me. I have had enough now. I wiped my tears and spin around to see Aiden, Edmund and Evans into a fight. My eyes were flooded with tears as the immense pain surpassed through my body.
I breathed heavily and looked around to not see Jake anywhere around. He ran away. The cowardly cat ran away instead of helping us. I took a few deep breaths and picked up Emily's metal rod. I looked at Evans with rage and made my way towards him with uneven steps. It was hard with my whole body aching but I pulled up all the strength inside me and walked towards them.
I took another deep breath and picked up my hands in the air as I held the rod with both hands. I was about to hit him when he did the unthinkable. He pulled up a dragger from his pocket and moved in the air cutting Aiden's cheek. I widened my eyes and before any of us could make a move, he stabbed Aiden cutting his stomach. I was registering as to what just happened when the blood started coming out and soon filled the t-shirt he was wearing with red colour. My head started spinning again and I got frozen. I could hear faint shouting of Edmund beside but I couldn't register what was happening. My eyes started tearing up as Aiden fell on the floor in the pool of blood.
Evans pushed Edmund throwing his dragger up in the air and started running. Edmund was saying something to me but I was shut. The volume of sirens filled the space along with redness around in the room. My vision was blurred with tears which weren't stopping. I was crying by now when some policemen barged into the room and hurriedly made their way to Aiden. I saw Mr Moore asking me about Emily but I was too shaken to say anything. Emily and Aiden were lying on the floor and I didn't do anything. I just kept on watching. I sniffed and looked at Mr Moore when his gaze moved past and his eyes got widened. He rushed behind and I just kept looking at the rush around. They picked up Aiden who was losing his consciousness by now. He looked at me for one time and closed his eyes shut.
