Introduction

Asgard. What a dump, honestly. And that's coming from me; a demon. Or a fallen angel for you perfectionists. If I'm even using the right term. Likely not. I'm a demon. English and spelling are not things we're good at. Of course, you didn't click on this fanfiction for a demon lesson. You came for the sexy God of Mischief, right? Me too. So, let me tell you the story between me and him. Or you can leave and read something else. I'm not stopping you. Now, a little background because that's apparently how we do books. I've been on Earth for about 6,000 years, give or take. I wasn't assigned to Earth like many other demons, but I put myself here because I was bored. Well, then the Blitz happened.

See, by this time, I had become a severe alcohol problem. How else was I supposed to temporarily forget my trauma? And that got me in the middle of the air raid, and my body was discorperated. That essentially means that my body was destroyed, but my spirit remained. And I stayed that way for the next seventy years, going from host to host to keep myself from being completely lonely. Not that any of my hosts appreciated it. But it helped me experience a lot of things with the people I was attached to. Like 9/11, for example. But that's a story for another day. I couldn't leave my hosts if I ever got bored, though. I had to stay with them until an Angel or Demon of a high rank separated us safely, giving my body back, or they died, whichever came first. It was always the latter.

But why don't I just leave them myself? Because it fucking hurts, that's why. for both of us? How did I discover this? I felt bad for one of my hosts who was actually going through a rough patch in his life. So I detached us instead of having them deal with me forever. It almost killed him, the pain was that bad. I'm never doing that again. But my last hoast killed themselves by suicide, leaving me without any company. And I have no idea how this next part even happened, but, somehow, I ended up in Asgard. A place where I thought humans just made up in the Viking times. Guess I was wrong for once. But, there, I met the Odinson brothers without having to request to see them. Being a spirit has its perks.

But I couldn't help but notice that Thor was favoured more than Loki, the younger brother. I think I found my next host. So, late one night, I went into his room where he was fast asleep. I watched him from the corner of the room, waiting for three o'clock. I can possess him at any time, but doing it at the Witching Hour makes it slightly easier. When I saw the hands on my pocketwatch reach three o'clock, I went over to Loki, who rolled onto his back, just my luck. I got onto the bed with him and phased through him, going into the same position he was in. That's when I started to attach to him, which he didn't react well to. His back arched off the bed, his eyes rolled into the back of his head, and he was practically gasping for air.

When the process was done, he flopped back on the back while I was forced out of his body. But it worked. I'm now attached to him, and I can take over his body whenever I want. Oh, yeah. That's a detail I forgot to add, but, hey, you know now. I stood up as Loki woke up with a gasp. He caught his breath and sat up. He can't see me. Just like the others. Well, it's a small price to pay. His breathing was shakey as he recovered from the possession. He then got out of bed and made his way to his balcony where I discovered that we can't be too far apart from each other because what felt like a chain pulled me to keep up with him. So I can't be more than twenty feet apart from each other. Wonderful. I let out a yelp when that happened, which caught his attention and looked around. Conjuring up a knife, he started to look around his room, looking for me.

"Show yourself!" Loki demanded

'Would if I could, your Majesty,' I said

He looked at the direction I was standing. Of course, he saw nothing but I was there.

'Calm down. You can't see me,' I told him, 'I'm a Demon. And you will have to deal with me until an Angel or Demon separates us safely or you die, whichever comes first.'

"You're a... what?" Loki asked, still looking for me for some reason.

'Christ, and I thought Beethoven was deaf. But at least his work was still good.'

"What are you talking about?"

'Fuck sake, it doesn't matter! Point is, I've decided to possess your ass and you're stuck with me. You cannot see me, but you can hear me. You will only feel me when I touch you. Other than that, think of me as a fucking voice in your head or some shit. I don't know.'

He was quiet for a moment: "You have quite the mouth on you, demon."

'Cheers, I guess. Anyway, you understand what's going on now, or are you as thick as your brother?'

"Rude."

'I'll take that as a yes for the first part.'

Of course, he did have a lot of questions for me before he went to bed again. But it was during our conversation that revealed something I didn't know: Gods like him live for 5,000 years. Are you kidding me? I don't know if I can live with him for that long. Somehow, an ordinary human lifetime is sounding like a dream now. I've fucked myself over, haven't I?
