Chapter 17
"CHEERS!" Gregor raised his cup, and then swung back and downed his drink, then slammed it back on the table as everyone cheered drunkenly.
A second later, everyone followed and began talking loudly, congratulating each other as the crowd of townspeople who had come to watch the test applauded loudly for us, whilst also raising their cups.
Everyone this year had passed the test and slain their daywalker, only two being badly hurt, me and another girl who had also been pinned down but failed to grab her knife, but used her hairpin instead.
After I got the vaccine for the venom and had my injuries healed, Keial announced he wanted to congratulate us with a banquet, with as much food we could feast on, and a generous amount of fine wine and beverages.
Which leaves us to now, I was sitting at a table with three other guys who also did the trail, and Ash, who I still hadn't spoken to since I lashed out at him.
I knew I should apologize, I had taken my frustration out on him.
He was just trying to be nice and I saw that now.
I put my drink down and got up from my seat and then walked around the table to lean down next to Ash to talk in his ear, as it was too loud to shout across the table.
"Can we talk?" I asked loudly, making him shift to turn and look at me, and then slowly nod his head.
Ash got up from his seat and I figured the best place to talk was somewhere away from the banquet outside, so I walked over to the forest close to the celebrations and then stopped when I thought this was far enough.
"I wanted to uh, apologize about what I said." I said to him, as he stood and listened to me.
"I was under pressure to do well and I took that anger out on you, I see now that you were just trying to be helpful, and look out for me, so uh..." I clear my throat and rub my neck, anxiously.
"I'm sorry... and I hope we can become friends."
I had thought about what to say to him, and despite going over the words in my head, I felt more nervous saying it out loud, realizing now that I sounded like a girl.
"It's fine Felix, I know you didn't mean it." Ash laughed out and then came over to wrap his arm around my shoulder, grinning.
"Of course, we can be friends."
"I was planning on annoying you until you saw how great a friend I am anyways, so this saves me from making a fool of myself." He said seriously, making me laugh.
I couldn't help but look at him slightly shocked, did he really mean that?
"Oh, by the way- wow!" He whistled out, removing his hand from around my neck to lean against a tree.
"I had no idea you were such a badass Felix, at the end everyone was so impressed, even the King was moved, and I don't think I've ever seen him smile before... and then when you laughed, wow... I was speechless man, I still have goosebumps."
"Here, check this out for yourself." He showed me his arm and he was right, causing me to laugh.
What he said about the King surprised me, had he or anyone else really not seen him smile before?
I saw it all the time, even when I didn't want it.
It made my stomach flutter for unknown reasons, reasons that were too complicated to get into right now, especially since he was who he was, a King.
I hadn't talked to him since I entered the pit, but we had met eyes a few times during the celebration, which set me on edge, as the last thing he said to me played over in my head each time.
"Hey, want to head back? I want a piece of that bear before it's all gone." Ash smiled, whilst his eyes stared worriedly back at the outdoor banquet, as loud as ever.
"I'll catch up, I just need a sec." I said, smiling back at him as he nodded his head.
"Find me when you come back, and I'll save you some bear!" He said before he grinned and then ran back to where everyone else was, laughing, drinking, and eating until they could eat no more.
I sigh and enjoy the coolness of the night as I walk over to a tree and then unzip my pants down, and relieve myself and then I close my eyes and enjoy the silence of having no one around me.
But it didn't last long, as one moment I was relieving myself, and the next I had someone blowing into my ear, making me flinch and pee on my shoe.
I zip up my trousers, turn around frantically, and go to yell at whoever just did that, but instantly hold my breath when I see who it is.
"Don't stop, I was enjoying the view." Keial said, his eyes making me feel like he was teasing me.
I couldn't stop the blush from reaching my cheeks as I looked away from him and then tried to button up my pants.
"What are you doing out here?" I mumble, looking at him from the corner of my eye.
"Looking for you."
"Did you enjoy your little chat with the farmer's boy?" He asked, making me whip my head up and look at him.
Did he follow me out here, and... spy on me?
"Quite fascinating how desperate he was to befriend you, I think the boy likes you." He said, his bright golden eyes swirling with amusement.
I shook my head and chose to ignore him because it felt like he was messing with me.
"It's a shame I don't like to share."
My eyes almost popped out of my head as I stared at him, a smug, yet confident look on his face as he stared down at me while he took a step forward.
What did he mean by that?
"Are you done making fun of me?" I avoided his gaze, as I leaned against a tree and stared out lights, and the crowd of people enjoying the night.
Then, without hearing him move, Keial was standing in front of me with his body pressed against mine, and his hand moving my head away from the crowd to look solely into his eyes.
"I don't take kindly to your attitude, Felix." His tone was threatening, but his eyes still swirled with amusement.
His hands go to either side of me as he presses himself closer up against me until I can feel everything, every muscle, every curve, and the hard bulge in his pants that rubbed against mine.
"Do I need to punish you, despite going out of my way to congratulate you?" He leaned down and whispered, as I felt something hot, rough, and wet touch my neck.
Did he just... lick me?
I was now so turned on that I missed how his hand went down my back and rested on my ass and squeezed it, whilst he pressed me into him rougher, making me moan out before I could stop myself.
What the hell was that?
Was that me?
His eyes were captivating, and his scent was overpowering, it was all turning me on so much that I felt like my whole body was itchy, and the only cure was for his deep voice to whisper in my ear, and press himself harder into me.
"Do you have an answer for me?" He asked, his voice husky as he trailed his nose up my neck, and then opened his mouth to lick me again, only this time it made my toes curl, and my eyes roll back into my head.
It was too much, it was like his touch was venom itself, and with each touch, or lick, I was becoming more undone and desperate for more.
The answer was right there, on the tip of my tongue, but Keial was relentless in making me squirm until I was a pile of mess in front of him.
"Y-Yes." I groaned out, as his teeth bit down on the make of my neck, making me reach out and grab his hand as I felt that itch for him to get worse.
"And?" He breathed out, as I breathed heavily from his touch.
"Do we have a bargain?"
Gaining what little control I had over my body, I pushed his chest back which made him move his head back just enough for his bright eyes to look at me, his lips inches from mine.
"If I do this..." I swallowed hard, as his eyes stared hard at mine, an unrecognizable hunger inside of them.
"I-I want my name fully cleared, I want a clean slate... and." I pause, as his eyes start to turn pitch black, as his erection now throbbed, and twitched against mine painfully hard.
"I want this to be just business... n-nothing more."
