Part 3

-Your Pov-

You land by jamming Rebellion into a tree, and stopping your fall. Angrily, you remove the sword from the tree, and it falls over. The sound of it attracts several Grimm, and you throw yourself down to fight them, and let your mind wander. If you can make your way to the temple by yourself, then maybe it will be possible for you to not be placed on a team. After all, if you don't have a partner, then it should be fine. Your mind begins to race, and find every possible loophole for needing to be placed on a team, not wanting to be tied down by someone.

No matter what Ozpin said, you were better off on your own, and the only thing a team would be capable of is slowing you down. You had been fighting your whole life, and not the training you could get in class rooms. Rather than fight for enjoyment, you had been fighting to survive. And then there was your unique lineage, giving you more raw power than any student here could possibly have. No matter what other skills a student here could have, you wouldn't need any of them.

However, as you thought this, you saw the girl with the white cloak. Her scythe was rested on her back, and her silver eyes were tinged with frustration as she tried to free herself. Currently, her cloak was wrapped a tree, and she was trying to break out without ruining her cape. She looked up when she saw you, and then her eyes widened. You let out a huff. As cute as this girl was, you didn't want to deal with her.

" Looks like we're partners," she says happily. " Ooh, I saw your sword the other night, and it looked really cool. I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to weapons, so I couldn't help but be real impressed with it. Can you show it to me again?"

Reluctantly, you took Rebellion of your back, and then showed it to her. Her silver eyes scanned it, and she got more and more excited as she did. " That's so cool," she giggles with delight. " When I get free, I'll show you my weapon."

" If you're this impressed with Rebellion, I can show you my other sword," you tell her, and then her eyes widen, and she starts to ask if you have another sword. Clearly, she has no idea what you were actually talking about.

You knew on the spot there was no way this was going to work. She was way too young, naive, innocent and clumsy. If you had to trust your life to her on a mission, then you would probably die because of it. And so, you started to walk off from her. " Hey, where are you going," she calls indignantly. " We're supposed to be partners."

" No," you say, and then you walk from her, ignoring her cries and protests. You rub your head, nursing the headache that's been building up for sometime, and then you get far away enough from her that you manage to ignore her cries of protest. There's a small part of you that feels bad, but the rest of you knows she would only slow you down, and maybe get the both of you killed one day.

However, as you think this, a pack of Grimm sees you, and then you reach to grab Rebellion. Before you need to, a red and white blur comes in, and cuts them all down. When the blur stops, you see the girl you had just left. She spins her scythe around her and brings it down on the last Grimm, and then she turns to you. Looking down, you see she ripped her cape to get out.

" Like it or not, the two of us are going to be partners," she says, a mix of happy, and angry. " For the next four years, so we're going to have to learn to work together. I'm not the helpless child you think I am."

" Okay," you tell her, not bothering to apologize, but somewhat intrigued by her by this point, and then you gesture for her to follow you. She ends up in front of you in a blur of red and white, and then begins to talk with you happily, trying to get to know you. Purposely, you give her the most useless answers possible, not really able to keep up with her seemingly boundless energy.

Eventually, the two of you make your way down to the ruined temple. When you get closer, you see that the relics are little more than playing cards. " Huh," you say simply when you see them, and then you turn to Summer. " Which one do you want?"

She begins to go through them all, and then babble about how she wonders if they have some sort of hidden meaning, and why Ozpin picked them. You just shrug when she asks you what you think about it, and then reaches for a card. As she does, you look up to see two other students headed to you. Morbid curiosity fills you when you wonder who your other two team members are going to be.

One of them is the girl with red eyes and black hair, with her sword rested on her back, and the other is the man who had been with her, probably her brother going by him having red eyes as well, and his scythe is rested on his back. Summer ruses to go and greet them, and the man starts to talk to her. While this happens, the girl glares at you, clearly remembering your attempts at flirting with her. You give her a cheeky smile in return, and her glare intensifies.

The only thing you can think is that the next four years at Beacon are gonna be something else to say to say the very least.

( let me know what you thought.)
