Part 12
-Your Pov-
You sit in the dorm alone with Qrow. Summer and Raven left awhile ago to talk about something, and you really have no idea what it was. They might have told you, but you already forgot if they did. Something that really surprises you is that Qrow hasn't had anything to drink since the two of you got here, and then on top of that, he's actually studying from his textbook. Glancing over, you see it's the textbook for one of the classes he has with Morrigan. It makes perfect sense to you, and you know exactly why he's doing it, and it isn't for the sake of being a diligent student.
" So, when are you gonna admit you have a crush on Morrigan," you ask him, and then he looks up and glares at you, and then tries to tell you that he would sooner give up drinking than go on a date with her, and then you chuckle the entire time.
" I hate her so much," he lies. " I just keep thinking about how annoying she is, and how much better than everyone else she thinks she is. You know what she told me after the fight we had with her team? That I was sloppy, which is ridiculous. I was kicking her ass."
" Yeah okay," you tell him, knowing full well that she had been matching him blow for blow. " But, if you really don't like her, then why does it matter so much to you what she thinks about you, or your fighting, or your grades?"
" I don't care what she thinks. I just want to see the look on her face when she sees me get a higher grade than her," he says. " That would just be the best thing in the world. Can you imagine the shock on her face?"
" You sure think about her a lot," you tell Qrow, and then he throws a pillow at you.
" I think of wrapping my hands around her throat, and then just choking the life out of her."
" Kinky," you tell him, and then he throws another pillow at you, and you catch it. " Qrow, Raven already told me you had a crush on her. You don't have to deny it. Who am I gonna tell who doesn't already know?"
" Wait, Raven told you," he asks, and then you nod. " That's the last time I tell anybody anything. Wait, does Summer know too?" He says this, and then you nod. " Dammit. It's all over. If Summer figured it out, then everyone at Beacon knows."
" Pretty much yeah," you tell him. " Except Morrigan, so you got that going for you still, which is nice."
" Dammit Raven," he mutters, and then he looks up to see you. " She made me promise not to say this, but what the hell? She gave away my secret, so I might as well give up one of hers." You raise your eyebrow at him curiously, wondering what it is he wants to tell you. " Raven has a crush on you."
-Raven Pov-
I walk down the halls with Summer, wondering to myself what she had wanted to talk about. The girl had burst into the room as I was talking to (y/n), and then insisted on talking to me alone. I had just gone with it, and now she and I have been walking down the halls for over thirty minutes, since she insists on this being a private conversation. I wonder what it is she wanted to talk about, if she insists on this level of privacy, it has to be something rather important, since normally Summer is very open with us about things.
Eventually, we make it to a small courtyard, and then she goes to a bench, and sits down and I sit down next to her. The two of us sit in silence for a little bit, and then she turns to look at me. " I want you to know that you and (y/n) are both very important people in my life. You're both my team mates, but you're my friends more importantly than that.
" Thank you Summer," I say to her, really meaning it. The people I've met here at Beacon have meant more to me than I ever imagined them meaning to me. They're actual friends instead of people I simply have to be around. I'm actually enjoying my time here at Beacon.
" I thought a lot about what you said, and you're right. (y/n) is my partner, and he'll share whatever it is he has to share with me in time," she says. " And even if he doesn't want to, then I'm going to support that, and more importantly, support him."
When she says this, I nod and then Summer opens and closes her mouth rapidly, and then begins to blink her eyes. " And so, because I support at him, I just want you to know I hope you're good to him."
She looks like she's on the verge of tears, and then I still have no idea what she means. I must radiate confusion, because she wipes her eyes and look up at me. " I've seen the way he looks at you," she says. " And, I've seen how he lets you in and lets you see the real him. And I know you like him too."
Summer Rose is full of surprises to me. She's an amazing fighter, a great leader, a kind and supportive friend, and she's perceptive. And yet, as I see her start to cry, I realize how young she is, a girl with her first crush being turned down without even having a chance with him in the first place. I go to apologize to her, and she holds up a hand.
" If the two of you are going to be together, then I'll do the best I can to be the most supportive and amazing friend I can be. But, I have to know you're going to be good to him. Promise me Raven."
" I promise," I tell her, finally deciding to admit the feelings I have to Summer, and to myself.
( let me know what you thought)
