The two men looked guilty as they sat interrogated by Mrs Kim after adjusting their clothes which were rumpled from their activity. Mrs Kim was fuming.

"Why did you come back?  Taehyung was fine without you. Why did you come back?" She yelled.

"Mom!" Taehyung shouted but his mother ignored him.

"You weren't satisfied destroying his life before. You want to destroy his life again?"

Jimin bit his lips hard nearly drawing blood. Taehyung couldn't endure it anymore so he stood up.

"Enough mom. Stop it. So now you've found out, what are you going to do?"

Mrs Kim was aghast.

"Besides, why did you come here without informing me? This is my house and I'm an adult. You can't just barge in any how you like"

Mrs Kim stepped back staring at him in disbelief. "Am I the only sane person here? Does any of this look normal to you?"

She pointed at Jimin. "Because of this guy, your life nearly got ruined seventeen years ago. He claimed to love you yet where was he when you needed him. He put you in harm way because of his dirty lifestyle. You were sexually assaulted and nearly lost your life because of his own mistake..."

Jimin trembled "It will be different this time. I won't let anything bad happen to Taehyung again. I will do everything I can to protect him

Mrs Kim laughed scornfully. "Sorry but you are too late. As you can see, my son doesn't need your protection. He has everything he needs. You aren't needed. He's safer far away from you than with you"

Jimin blinked back his tears. "You have every right to be angry as a mother but I want to assure you that I will never bring harm to Taehyung. Rather, I can put my life on the line for his sake"

She scoffed. "Do you think I'll believe you? Do you really think I will sit back and let you put my son in danger again?"

"Never!" She scowled at Taehyung " Love might have blinded you, made you unable to see reasons but I will make sure you get your self straight. You have too much to loose now. You can't afford to be in a risky situation with him"

She glared at Jimin. "If you care about my son at all, you will live like you have been living this whole time, like a ghost"

"Mom! Stop it" Taehyung yelled completely enraged now.

"I was the one who went after him. I was the one who begged him to come back to me. Jimin doesn't deserve the way you are speaking to him. Apologize right now"

Mrs Kim laughed brutally. "You have lost it. You have clearly lost it. You never listen to me yet i always end up being right"

"Mark my words Taehyung, he's going to get you into bigger trouble and this time, you will finally come to realize that you were wrong for loving a devil like him"

She hissed. "Whatever this is between you two has to end for both your sakes"

Then she turned and left, the air was completely cold around them. Taehyung turned to Jimin only to witness the defeated look in his eyes. He reached out him but the other flinched.

"Jimin, don't listen to what my mother said. You know she's a very hateful person...it doesn't matter what she thinks..."

Jimin stood up suddenly. "I just need to be alone" He muttered and left the living room. He went to the bedroom he shared with Taehyung and slumped on the bed.

The unexpected arrival of Mrs Kim brought a new wave of regret and panic over him. A part of him still felt guilty and undeserving of Taehyung's love but for his sake, he decided to move on and forget the padt but there was an emptiness within him and if he didn't fill it, he didn't think he could truly move on.

After a while, Taehyung joined him in the bedroom and wrapped his arms around him.

"I'm sorry you had to hear that. Just ignore what she says. This isn't the first time."

Jimin sighed, his back to the other. "It's hard to ignore Taehyung. It's really hard"

"But you know this was something we were both going to face if we decided to get back together. Let's not give my mother the satisfaction. Let's get through this together"

He turned Jimin so he was facing him. "Okay?"

Jimin sighed. "Okay"

Then he pulled him into his arms and before long, Taehyung was sleeping soundly but Jimin was wide awake the entire night.

Jimin was preparing to leave the following day. He was going to wait for Taehyung to return so he could escort him to the airport where he would catch a night flight back to Daegu but Taehyung seemed to be later than usual plus he wasn't picking up his calls. After a long time, he got tired of waiting and decided to watch something on the TV.

As soon as he turned to the 9'O clock news, he met the headlines and his eyes widened as he saw pictures of Taehyung on the television.  The female anchor was speaking in clear tones.

"At precisely 4:30 this evening, Popular actor Kim Taehyung was shot at by an unknown person while coming out of a store. The alleged shooter has been unidentified and is on the loose. Thankfully, the star was uninjured and is presently receiving treatment at the general hospital. Reports suspect that the shooter is an avid anti fan who has publicly shown a disinterest in the affairs of the star. It was revealed that the shooter has sent him a lot of death threats messages in the past and has stalked him for quite a while now. We shall update you with further news on the star.

Jimin felt a sharp pain in his chest. Once again, Taehyung was put in danger and he wasn't able to protect him. He called his phone again but like before, it was switched off so Jimin decided to remain patient and wait till he returns.

Taehyung returned to the house the following morning only to meet Jimin sprawled on the couch. As soon as the other heard the beeping automated sound of the door getting closed, he suddenly opened his eyes and jumped from the couch.

"Taehyung! Taehyung!" He murmured. As soon as his eyes fell on him, he headed straight to him and held him in his arms searching his body for any sign of injuries.

"Are you really okay? I heard the news. What's going on?"

Taehyung sighed and sat on the couch. He looked extremely tired.

"I'm tired. I've been with the police since yesterday. I don't want to talk about it"

Jimin was extremely curious"What on Earth are you talking about? You nearly died Tae! Someone shot at you. Who is this person?"

Taehyung shook his head. "Just some crazy person! It's a woman who was obsessed with Han Jae min"

Jimin sat beside him to listen carefully

"Han Jae min? The actor who took his own life two years ago?"

Taehyung nodded. "Yes. She said it was my fault he killed himself. Han Jae min was the biggest actor before I came into the industry but within a year, I had surpassed him in popularity and was taking all of his endorsement deals. Several of his fans thought it was wrong of me to do that but I had no choice in the matter. My company makes all the decisions since I'm under a contract with them"

He sighed.

"Then the scandal happened. He was accused of sexually assaulting a female worker at a night club while he was drunk. There where evidences, CCTV footages to prove it. That was enough to seal his fate. Several reports of him being a sexual offender over the years started to come up. There were evidences of Jae min assaulting women. These astrocities were swept under the rug and hidden by his company to protect his image but after what happened, people felt the need to come out and talk. Han Jae min was doomed and his career was completely finished. Faced with all these problems, he jumped down from his two storey mansion and ended his own life"

There was silence until Jimin spoke. "I knew of the incident. It really caused a lot of commotion in the country at the time"

Taehyung nodded his head. "Yeah, but there were still some fans of Jae min who had to bring me into the whole issue. They were jealous of my success and started to spread baseless rumors, formulating a crazy theory that I was the cause of Han Jae min's death. They said that I orchestrated the whole scandal in other to completely push him aside and take his position"

"These people are crazy"

"You bet. But there was this particular fan who took it on a whole other level. Apparently, she was obsessed with Han Jae min and after he died, had to undergo therapy to cope with his loss. She couldn't bear the fact that he died from suicide but when the rumors about my involvement in his death started to circulate, she swallowed everything she heard and totally believed it was all my fault, living in complete delusion. She sent me endless death threats, boycotted my shows and endorsement deals. Eventually, she was given a restraining order but that itself didn't work as you can see"

Jimin squeezed his hand. "This is dangerous Tae. You could really get hurt. From what I can tell, you aren't dealing with a normal person here. This is a psychopath. Plain and simple!"

Taehyung sighed "I have taken the necessary precautions. The police are watching over me now. They even sent some men to watch over me at night. They are outside as we speak. I'll be fine"

"Well, that doesn't convince me. I'm dead worried about you. There's no way I can let you out of my sight now until they catch that woman"

Taehyung smirked. "So what are you going to do? Are you going to be my body guard?

"If that's what it takes"

Taehyung stared at Jimin. He looked dead serious.

"I can't bear to loose you. Not now. We are finally together after so long. I won't be able to take it if something bad happens to you"

Taehyung shook as Jimin went on. "So you have to take this seriously. Your life is at stake here"

Taehyung gulped. "Okay, so what do you want to do?"

"I want to be able to be with you at all times. You can introduce me to your company. Tell them I'm a friend or something... anything. I just....i have to be with you"

Taehyung shook his head. "You don't have to do this. You have your own life, your own business. You can't put everything on hold just for my sake"

"I don't care. You are the most important person to me. You come first"

Taehyung sighed. "You really don't have to prove anything to me Jimin"

Jimin grabbed his hand squeezing it tightly. "You don't know what I go through everyday. I love being with you Taehyung. I love you but I still feel empty. It's not enough for me. I won't feel deserving of you until I can prove myself. Until I can prove that I'm willing to risk my life for you"

Taehyung frowned. He wasn't liking this at all.

"Stop saying stupid things Jimin"

"I'm serious Tae. I'm more than serious"

Taehyung forced a smile on his face. "I don't think it will come to that"

Taehyung suddenly received a call. It was Jungkook. He had heard what happened and was calling to check up on him. After the call ended, Jimin spoke.

"You guys still keep in touch"

"Yeah... he and Yoongi married last year. They have been vacationing in every country they possibly can"

"Typical. I'm sure it's Yoongi hyung's idea"

Taehyung chuckled but Jimin raised the tension in the air again.

"I'm serious Tae. I want to be beside you"

Taehyung was quiet. He took the whole night pondering about it. The following morning, Taehyung woke Jimin up wearing a determined look on his face.

"Okay... let's do it" He said finally and Jimin was overjoyed.

When they appeared together at the company that morning, Mrs Kim nearly fainted. She took them to a private room and began to scold them.

"Taehyung, have you gone mad? What's wrong with you? How dare you bring him here"

Taehyung breathed heavily. "Jimin insisted on coming with me. He wants to protect me"

Mrs Kim laughed cynically and looked pointedly at Taehyung. "you want to protect him, when you are the biggest threat of all?"

Jimin bit his lips hard. Taehyung held his hand tightly. Mrs Kim saw this act and rolled her eyes.

"I can't believe this. You want to put your trust in this man after what happened to you?"

"Mom...can you stop?" Taehyung yelled.

Jimin spoke. "It's okay Taehyung...I understand your mother but I hope to prove her wrong"

He smiled at Mrs Kim. "I know you don't like me and there's nothing I can do to change your mind but please just do me this one request Mrs Kim"

"You used to be quite fond of me in the past but circumstances turned things around. I hope I can regain your trust again..one day"

Mrs Kim scowled crossing her arms over her chest as she looked away from them.

"Please...I really need your support"

There was silence for a while until Mrs Kim spoke again. "I don't believe you can protect my son. There are better people suited for that but if you insist, then I will give you my permission but on no account should people know about your relationship with Taehyung"

"This is an entertainment company. Tongues wag and before you know it, the news will spread around and everyone in this country will know"

"What's wrong with that?" Taehyung retorted

Mrs Kim scoffed, eyeing him. She ignored his presence and faced Jimin "i'm sure you're aware Taehyung is at the height of his career and if it's revealed that he's in a relationship, it won't be good for him"

Jimin nodded his head. "Don't worry...we'll be careful. They won't find out about us" he said.

The company gave their permission for Jimin to accompany Taehyung as an unpaid worker. Following him, he was able to see another side to Taehyung, a side he never knew before. He was rigid, blank faced and a bit serious while working. Taehyung was famous. One couldn't begin to understand just how much. No wonder he had so much haters. Following him showed him a glimpse of that. People crowded them whenever they were out in the public. It was always a hassle for the security team to rid them off. Taehyung was so busy. Too busy he hardly had time to rest so Jimin didn't complain when they didn't share eye contact or when he refused to hold his hand. He understood that in that moment, he was just working but when they were back home, Taehyung would melt in his arms, cuddle with him, kiss him and tell him about his day even though he had already seen all of it. At that time, he had him all to himself. Sharing his boyfriend with millions of other people wasn't an easy thing but the fact that out of those people, he was number one in Taehyung's heart made everything a lot easier to handle.

It had been weeks but the shooter didn't show up again. Everyone thought it was over but they were so wrong.

That night, Taehyung and Jimin were in front of the house with the security team. They had given a fake story that they were just co habiting so Jimin could protect Taehyung. They bought the lie so no one was suspicious of them.

They were just about entering the house when Jimin felt goosebumps. Since they got down from the van, he could feel that someone was following them. He suddenly heard a rustle in the bushes nearby. He was already on alert and searched the nearest sorrounding. That was when he saw it, a figure dressed in a dark hoodie hiding in the bush and pointing a gun at Taehyung who was standing close to him. Immediately, he raised an alarm.

"She's here! The shooter is here!"

But he was too late and the sound of a gun shot exploded in the air.
