Chapter 13:- Back to Normal?... Maybe Not!

That one week went perfectly fine. Everything was a normal was supposed to be. He knew what her feelings were for him but did not give her the hint that he did know. He pretended like nothing ever happened. Like each time their hands brushed while they worked or when he gave her sweet compliments, a light blush would creep onto her cheeks and he would pretend to not notice, just like how she wanted it to be. And that didn't even give her any clue that he knew.

But there was one thing he couldn't help doing. He couldn't stop noticing the wonderful things about her nerd side. He loved noticing her beautiful brown eyes, sparkling with eagerness of wanting to spend time with him.  Her big hazel tinted eyes filled with flowing emotions and wonder kept the mystery inside her concealed. Her Rosy red cheeks that bloomed every time anything that was worth feeling when the two were together. And her soft thin lips pursed everytime she tried to concentrate. Ashton couldn't help but actually notice every little thing about her. It felt like every beauty about her had magnified enormously. He couldn't see that shy nerd any more.

For that one week, he almost felt like he had a direct connection to her heart. As much as she tried to hide her feelings, the more he could feel it. He could just feel the love she had for him radiating yet he kept quiet, trying to believe it was just his imagination playing around.

To see her smile, he did the little but simple wonders that would make her happy like go out in the park or play like little kids on a playground and then acted like it was no big deal when actually it was. His immediate excuse was 'A break after studies is definitely needed so let's do something fun.' Even though it wasn't his defination of fun, he was ready to do her defination for her.

Cass got herself slowly but surely convinced that the night she was drunk, nothing happened. Even though, many hints were dropped and covered by him. At the same time,  Ashton remained as oblivious as possible to his surroundings even when she slipped up so many times. And for those time, Cass was so thankful to God that he was so ignorant in life.

In fact that week was amazing, she concluded and she remained eager to keep things that way. But when has it ever happened that when you are content with life just as it is and it stays that way? Only time can use its force to make things from its best to it's worst and the memory or the moment you want to last just becomes another myth.

Yes, that's exactly what happened to Cass. The following week had actually become personal torture for her. Maybe not physically or mentally, but surely emotionally it was tearing her down, breaking her into pieces. Her feelings tried to strengthen, trying to believe that it was just a dream but the reality hits her hard, and her torture begins all over again. Her heart ached and was left wounded, worse compared to the earlier times.

It started off when she had come to his house, just before she could declare that the week had, Infact,  turned out to be horrible. Eager to move on to the business of studies, she waited for the main door ro open and as usual, the Butler greeted her with a smile. Just this time with some news. "Master Ashton is not home today." He told her as if it was his duty to inform her. She smiled in return. "It's okay, Smith... I think I can wait." And she walked right in, before the butler could let her know what his words actually meant.

She sat in the huge hall 0, laying her books out and almost started studying when she heard a moan. She looked up in the direction from where it came. And it pointed to Ash's room.

'Guess he is very busy today.' She thought sadly. Her heart felt like it began to form cracks. At first she couldn't believe it that the Butler had lied to her. He didn't have to do that. He could've just told her that he was very busy. Maybe she would've understood.  And suddenly at that moment, she wished she was that lucky girl, who was there, kissing  his chiselled face and letting his hands roam her narrow waist. Being very bad at imagining, for the first time she could actually feel what she thought.

But why would he? After all, she was just a nerd and he was The Bad Boy who also turned out to be the hottest, sextet,  richest as well as the most popular boy in college. Obviously he deserved a girl who could match his standards. Well, Cassandra was nothing compared to that. She was just a nobody who only likes studies.

He was in there, giving pleasure to the lucky girl. Maybe he needed time to do all these things since he always devoted this time to studies. But don't you think the least he could do was inform her. At least she wouldn't face this torture of having her crush listening to unneeded things.

The noise and the words of love just kept getting louder and it began to ring in her eardrums yet it was her stubborn nature that prohibited from walking away, in hopes that the moment he is done with his love - making,  he would realise that she had been waiting for him and then maybe realise his mistake and promise not to repeat it. But that did not happen cause he did not turn up. She had to leave dejectedly at her anointed time.

She left with a huge ache in hee heart, a bad feeling hung over her face. She expected him to know that she was waiting and the immediate conclusion she could come up with is, he doesn't care. It felt like a million taunts piercing on her part. Like he knows what she felt for him yet he wanted to prove that he was The Bad Boy and he was not to be trusted.
