Chapter 7
"Oh, before I forget." Juvia smiled. "All of those records are wrong about one specific detail."
"What is it?"
"I didn't kill my parents."
------
1635
The rain gently fell down the sky as a figure enveloped in a dark blue coat held a blue rose and placed it on the ground in front of the gravestone before her.
Prince Gray Fullbuster
1612 - 1634
Despite all, know that we will always love you.
"My lady, I believe it's time for us to go we don't want to be late for the party."
"You're right." The princess nodded and left the scene, entering the carriage where there is a black raven on the center table eating berries.
"Juvia hoped she didn't take too long." The princess spoke as she entered the carriage, her driver moving towards his.
"I still don't see why you would visit my grave even if you see me every day."
"This form doesn't count my love." Juvia giggled and stroked the bird's chin. "Besides, it would be odd and suspicious if she don't visit her darling's grave. Not everybody knows what you are right now."
The princess sat in comfortable silence as she watched the bird feed on some berries.
"We're home your highness." The driver spoke before she opened the carriage's door.
Juvia held on to her driver's hand for support as she exited the vehicle. After fixing herself, the raven flew and landed on the maiden's shoulders.
Juvia walked toward the castle and was greeted by her mother.
"My dear, how's your visit?" She asked.
"It rained a little but overall it was peaceful," Juvia responded.
"What about Father's visitors, have they arrived yet?"
"They're at the hall, you go ahead and get some fresh new clothes, he's waiting for you." Her mother responded.
Juvia nodded and did as she was told.
------
"Ahh, there she is." Juvia smiled as she walked toward her father who gave her a warm hug.
"She's a darling." A woman giggled.
"Indeed, very beautiful. I bet she has plenty of suitors." Another added.
Juvia lowered her head by the mention of it and momentarily excused herself.
"I don't think she's quite ready for that just yet." Her father giggled. "Prince Gray's death took a toll on her."
"Oh him, it's unfortunate what happened."
"Though, I've heard that the kingdom is slowly getting back on its feet."
"That's good to hear."
-----
"Hello, there brother."
"Jose." The king shifted his gaze towards his brother.
"You know, I've garnered a few eligible suitors for your little princess." Jose grinned.
"Brother, we've talked about this, we won't be discussing such matters until she's ready." The king spoke. "Until then, you shall not interfere."
"I understand," Jose replied, standing still and watching his brother walk away.
------
Juvia walked through the castle's halls with a raven sitting quietly on her shoulders.
She approached the royal wizard's quarters and knocked on his door.
The door magically opened on its own. "Your Highness, Demon." The wizard greeted them.
"Xavier." Juvia smiled and closed the door as the bird landed on one of the chairs and in a puff of black smoke turned into a man, wearing a black suit, white tie, and a sliver cross brooch on his chest. It just so happens that he caught sight of a boy with black hair and red eyes sitting next to him.
"Who's the kid?"
"That's Rouge Cheney, he's my new apprentice," Xavier said. "Rouge. This is Glen."
"The Princess' pet bird."
"Hey!! I'm not her pet!!" The man retorted, Juvia simply giggled at his reaction.
"To be specific, he's Gray Fullbuster, the Prince of the Northern Isles, the one who's supposed to be engaged to the Princess. He's a Demon now."
"Oh, I see." The boy nodded.
When it comes to newly formed Demons certain rules need to be followed. One of which is that only a few humans can know that one is a demon and If one wishes to reside in the mortal realm one must form a disguise.
No one knows the qualifications or what it takes to be a Demon or an Angel. Many Wizards and Witches have their theories but they've always been debunked one way or another.
"However, I must ask the reason for this sudden visit, isn't there a party downstairs," Xavier said.
"Juvia needs to talk to you about the spell books you lend to her."
"Of course."
"Is this your cat?" Gray asked, petting a green kitten that sat comfortably in his arms.
Rouge nodded. "His name is Frosch."
"That means frog in German."
"Well, he loves frogs." Rouge chuckled.
"He's adorable." Gray smiled.
"While those two bond. I'll show you a couple more." Xavier smiled at the scene before him. Juvia nodded and followed the wizard.
Juvia is born with the gift of magic and Xavier has been teaching her how to use and control her powers. She has read and studied multiple magic and spell books over the years and her efforts aren't in vain as she is quite skilled.
------
"Sometimes, that bird creeps me out." One of the servants spoke.
"No kidding, sometimes I feel like it's watching me or something." Another added.
"The both of you are being ridiculous, Glen is a smart bird, that's all there is to it."
"But the gardener said that sometimes he can hear him talking."
"Please." One of the servants rolled his eyes. "Dragons and all kinds of creatures exist, a talking bird is not that special."
"But aren't ravens usually associated with evil wizards and demons."
"What are you implying??"
"Maybe Glen's previous owner is one."
------
Juvia stared outside of her balcony, admiring the constellation of stars draped in the night sky.
The party just came to a close and everybody has left.
A raven flew towards her, a blue rose on its beak.
Juvia giggled and took the rose the bird offered to her.
"Thank you, my love." She smiled.
The bird used its beak to open the curtain leading back to the Princess's quarters.
Juvia gracefully walked in. As the curtains closed once more, the bird turned into a human.
He slowly walked toward the blue-haired princess and placed both of his hands on her shoulders.
"Darling, can Juvia ask a request."
"Anything." The man smiled and kissed her cheek.
Juvia turned around to face him. "Juvia wants to see Gray's true form."
"Juvia, listen I-"
Juvia shook her head and held his hands tightly.
"Juvia wants to see it."
Gray sighed and took a step back.
"If you insist."
Black iridescent feathers enveloped his body forming a pair of dark wings on his back. His skin turned paler as black marks spread through half of his body and both of his arms. His nails grew sharper, his hair spiked up even more, only leaving a single thick strand to fall on his forehead, his dark blue eyes turned red and black horns grew out of his skull.
Juvia slowly stepped closer to him and gently placed her hand over his cheek while her other hand played with his hair, pulling his body close to hers, she gave him a passionate kiss on the lips.
