Chapter 6

The Northern Side of Fiore is known for a couple of things. It's known for breathtaking scenery, but it is also known as the Supernaturals' territory this is the place where most of them live, humans are allowed but the place is quite dangerous for them.

Levy smiled as she flew down to the ground on her way to the university.

"Mornin' Shrimp."

Levy grumbled upon hearing the voice.

"What do you want?" Levy looked at the black wolf before her.

The wolf chuckled and circled around her.

"What's wrong with a little morning greeting." The wolf hummed as he turned into a human with a muscular body and long jet-black spiky hair.

Levy rolled her eyes. "You don't do morning greetings unless you want something, now spill."

She could feel Gajeel's hot breath as he leaned closer. "You're one intriguing little fairy. Hanging around with that Blondie."

"Look, I know you have issues with humans but she's different."

"I know, however, I don't think she knows what kind of danger she put herself into and you know that. How come you didn't stop her?" Gajeel spoke.

"Maybe, I want to live in the world that she envisions, it sounds nice." Levy lowered her head.

"It does, but is it really possible," Gajeel mumbled before turning back into a wolf.

"Oh well, we can hang later, take care of yourself shrimp, and stay out of trouble, I heard they're capturing fairies again," Gajeel said and walked away.

"Yeah, I will." Levy sighed and flew away.

------

"Levy, I totally forgot about it, but I can interview you, can't I?" Lucy smiled as they sat on one of the coffee shop's tables.

"That's a great idea." Levy smiled.

"But we could do it later, I'm meeting up Juvia at the library," Lucy said.

"You're meeting up with her?"

"Yeah, I didn't get the chance to, last time." Lucy nodded, taking a sip of her coffee.

"You're really invested in this paper huh," Levy said.

"Well, I wanna learn more about all the other races as well. It's very interesting. A bit tragic, but interesting."

"Well, prepare yourself. Humans aren't very nice to any other kind besides them back in the day."

"I wonder why is that, there's obviously a hierarchy nowadays, but some Supernaturals are feared by humans." Lucy leaned in, ready to listen.

Levy sighed, "Well it all comes down to basic human greed. I wasn't here for very long but I've heard that centuries ago, humans would steal and abuse powers from other races. Even Angels and Demons are victims."

"What would they do?"

"All kinds of things." Levy lowered her head. "I don't know the specifics but with fairies, humans would steal our wings and turn them onto medicine that can heal anything. If the fairy is powerful enough, it can even bring the dead back to life or grant eternal life."

"I don't know what to say."

"It's been going on for as long as I can remember, and it still does. The act is considered a crime but they still do it."

"I'm so sorry." Lucy held her best friend's hand to comfort her.

"The worst part is, in order to have proper use of our wings, we need to be conscious while they rip them off of our backs." Levy sniffled. "Some humans are just heartless like that."

"Levy, you can trust me." Lucy gave the fairy a comforting smile.

"I know." Levy finally looked up and smiled back.

The fairy wiped the tears on her cheeks and cleared her throat before changing the topic.

"So, did you find anything on Juvia?"

"I actually do." Lucy grabbed the book that was on the side of the table.

"She's born in 1613 and was the crowned Princess of the Amefurashi Kingdom. According to the text she killed her own parents, she was caught by her Uncle and was imprisoned for quite some time until she killed her Uncle on his coronation day, she's eventually executed by being burned at the stake and after that, the never-ending rain began."

"That's a lot." Levy took a deep breath.

"I looked up the Amefurashi Kingdom, it's still raining there, but it never floods, just rain," Lucy added.

"Okay, what makes you think, it's still a good idea to talk to them?" Levy looked at her best friend with worry.

"Natsu told me that not everything that is written about them is true," Lucy replied. "Juvia seems a really nice person. I wanna know her side of the story."

"Besides, I won't be alone, you're there with me."

"Right."

------

"Thank you once again for giving me your time," Lucy said as she sat in front of Juvia, Levy sits closely beside the blonde.

"I don't have any remarkable use of it, might as well, help you with your little project." Juvia giggled.

"Alright, so to start off, I've read some books that tell your life story, Natsu told me it's quite common for royalties to have their entire lives on record." Lucy started.

"He's not wrong."

"Are any of them true?" Lucy asked which caught Juvia off guard.

The demon cleared her throat and shifted to a different position. "Pardon?"

"Is any of these books speak the truth about your life?" Lucy asked again.

"Majority of the books are correct." Juvia smiled. "Say, mind telling me the most bizarre thing you've read."

"You have sexual relations with a demon and you ended up bearing its child," Lucy replied a little too quickly which earned a hearty laugh from Juvia.

"That's one hell of a rumor."

"So it's not true."

"Oh the sexual relations bit is right, the other one is pure baloney."

"Who?" Lucy's voice unintentionally become louder, and her curiosity grew stronger with the second.

"Take a wild guess." Juvia leaned in with a smirk.

Lucy thought for a bit and remembered one person.

"Is it-"

"Yup." Juvia grinned, approving Lucy's hypothesis.

"Okay, so moving on." Lucy cleared her throat.

"You mentioned that you find humans interesting, I like to believe that you thought of that because you're once human."

"You have a point but even if I was never human I still view them as interesting creatures. Easily consumed by greed and pride, they can easily turn into monsters given the right conviction." Juvia smiled.

"But everyone can be consumed by it." Lucy pointed out.

"That's true, but with humans, a lot of things matter to them. Wealth, power, and some seek immortality. With us, those things don't matter as much." Juvia replied.

"I was told that Angels and Demons are once humans, how exactly does that work? Are you still somewhat human or are you completely stripped off of that?"

"Well." Juvia rested her chin on top of her palm. "We necessarily don't know how we're picked, we never bothered to know. But based on my observation, there are no evil demons."

"Really?" Levy raised a brow.

Juvia chuckled. "You would think, but usually the evilest people in history are the ones who get tortured in hell the most."

"Demons aren't necessarily evil people, yes, we do despicable things but there is an aspect about us that separates us from evil," Juvia explained. "I think that's the main reason why we don't wear pure black clothing."

Lucy looked up and looked at Juvia. She only met three demons and one thing stood out the most, they always wear black but now, she noticed a silver brooch placed on Juvia's chest. She recalled the time she met Natsu and he always saw him wearing a white tie.

"I never noticed," Lucy mumbled. "Ok last question, do you think there's a chance that humans and supernaturals can live together in peace?"

Juvia shook her head. "I don't think so, the human mind is far too complicated and easily corrupted for that to happen. They need to know fear before they could obey."

"I see your point." Lucy nodded. "Thank you again for your help."

"No problem." Juvia smiled.
