Chapter Two, Where Oh, Where Oh Where are the Werewolves?
"Who would leave a poor dog out in this heat?" Hecate moaned, seeing the poor - what looked like a chocolate and white Springer Spaniel crossed with a Staffy puppy - panting in a dog house nosing its empty water bowl.
"Would you like a dog, my love?" Nik asked, putting the car in park and kissing his love with all that he had.
"Really?" Hecate squealed once they pulled back, throwing her arms back around Nik when he nodded.
"Great! So we have to put up with a dog as well as a human!" Stefan scoffed over the speaker.
"What was that!!?" Nik, Bekah, Kol and Greta snarled, choking coming through next from the car behind as Kol and Greta choked Stefan with their magic.
"Speak about her like that again and I'll have Kol and Greta make you live your worst moments over and over until you're begging for death and only then will Rebekah and I start our round of torture. Dragging it out until I finally kill you. Do I make myself clear?" Nik threatened, his tone dark and bloodthirsty.
"Crystal." Stefan coughed.
"That is your only warning." Rebekah spat.
"Let's go over the plan again." Greta suggested sending a dark look at Stefan who sat behind Kol.
"Excellent idea, darling." Kol praised, however, he never took his eyes off of Stefan through the rear view mirror.
Once the plan had been gone over twice more so some (Stefan) would take it seriously, Hecate, Rebekah and Greta got out of the cars when the vampires/hybrids of their group heard one of the women head to the front door to put the next phase of their plan into action.

After they had gathered the intel they needed, Hecate waited in the car with her new dog she had renamed Speckles, while Nik, Bekah, Greta and Kol fed their fill before Stefan had his as he wouldn't be able to stop due to his Ripper tendencies, so the others had to feed first, before they headed back to the hotel they were staying in (after Speckles had been checked over by a vet and ownership had been given to Hecate and they had brought everything they could possibly need for him).
The next part of the plan was simple: Hecate would be on a girls night out with Bekah and Greta at the bar their target Ray Sutton often frequented and as he's known to be a sleaze bag and a womaniser, he'd no doubt hit on the three of them which is when Nik and Kol with a very reluctant Stefan would step in.
"Are we sure he'll listen?" Stefan asked innocently but his eyes and his tone conveyed a different matter. "That you and Hecate are married I mean. A thousand years go you were only betrothed to be married before she was brutally murdered by your own parents.
In front of you as well, to lock away your werewolf side while Finn and Elijah held you three back from saving her. That's gotta hurt right?"
"Shut your mouth!" Rebekah, Nik, Kol and Greta snarled, Kol throwing him across the room with a flick of his wrist.
"I mean, even if you were married before she was killed," Stefan continued, as he got up. Zipping out of their way when they ran at him, "she's been dead for over a thousand years so your marriage, if you had been married that is, would be null and void now. Death do you part. No matter how much you call her your wife it doesn't make it so." Stefan mocked, only to end up gasping for breath when Nik held him to the wall by his throat while Kol and Greta gave him an aneurysm.
"You would do well to keep matters that do not concern you outta your mouth if I were you." Hecate threatened darkly, her eyes reflecting a dark and turbulent night, a complete contrast to how her eyes were a few months ago when she changed the moon's phase. Her complexion even resembled her anger with black as night hair standing in contrast to her alabaster skin. Her own brand of magic increased the potency of Kol's and Greta's magic as it attacked Stefan's brain and nerves.
"You are surrounded by those who can end your miserable life with a flick of a finger. And if you thought I was some helpless human, think again. Previously when I was attacked I hadn't reached my majority, but my Nikkie brought me back on my birthday which makes me eighteen and a full Goddess. As a reminder: you are only here because we saved your brother's life. We can just as easily end yours, remember that. I will not tolerate you hurting who are mine." Once Stefan nodded gasping for air with tears in his eyes, Greta, Kol and Hecate let him go; Hecate's complexion returned to her green eyes and chosen red hair.
"Now that the riff raff has been dealt with; how about us girls go and get ready? Manicures, pedicures, the lot." Rebekah asked. "Doesn't hurt to have a girls night and celebrate my sister's return and turning eighteen, and my favourite brothers being whole again."
"I can agree to that." Hecate smiled happily, eager to experience what this new world has to offer.
"I sure do love a party." Greta cheered, dancing beside Kol and bumping him with her hip.
"Sure sister, you know Nik and I can never say no to you or Cate." Kol agreed.
"I know that's why we're better than most twins as we're on the same wavelength. Always." Rebekah smirked, smiling smugly. "Nik?"
"We do have many reasons to celebrate." Nik agreed. "Plus, that was very hot, love, and I will make you my wife for real!" Nik whispered hotly into Hecate's ear causing a shiver to race down her spine.
"Oh, I know Nikkie and I can't wait for that day!" Hecate whispered sultry, spinning in Nik's arms to stare into his eyes as she slowly licked her bottom lip causing him to groan and bury his head into her neck nipping it; only for a smirk to appear on his lips when a startled moan escaped her lips before she darted away to dress with the girls. Her ears filled with Nik's laughter and Kol's moans and groans about now having to bleach his mind.

In a cute little bar called, 'The Southern Comfort', Hecate, Rebekah and Greta were dressed to the nines enjoying their girls night. If it just so happened to be the bar their target frequented then what a coincidence. Hecate wore a short, sparky black off-the-shoulder dress with matching black court heels that had red soles. Her red hair was up in a high ponytail with two strands to frame her face, her nails were black with golden crescent moons and stars on them, and her makeup was done artistically in winged silver eyeshadow, winged black eyeliner, pink lipstick and mascara. To finish off the look she had a silver ring adorning her middle fingers and a silver moon earring curved up her ears.
Rebekah wore a long sleeved but short sparkly red dress with silver peep toe heels. Her blonde hair was straightened and pinned back behind her ears, her nails were painted pink with golden flower detailing but with red toenails. To finish off the look her makeup was done artistically with natural eyeshadow, winged black eyeliner and red lipstick.
Greta finished off their ensemble with a short multicoloured skirt, deep green v-neck shirt and black heels. Her hair was straightened at the top and curled into soft waves at the bottom before being pinned back like Rebekah's. Her makeup finished off the look with golden eyeshadow, black eyeliner and mascara and light pink lipstick. Of course Nik, Kol and a reluctant Stefan were sat in the bar keeping an eye on the three women who sat at the bar laughing when their target finally entered the bar and made a beeline straight for the three women as soon as they caught his eye; causing Nik and Kol to clench their fists in anger despite having planned for this.
"Well, it must be my lucky day to run into three beautiful women all dressed up." Their target Ray Sutton drawled, literally undressing them with his eyes causing all three to scoff and cringe away from him as their skin crawled. Hecate especially as she wasn't used to such treatment.
"Yeah I don't think so." Hecate scoffed, turning away to hide how uncomfortable she was.
"Now don't be like that, baby." Ray reproached, moving closer to Hecate and resting a hand on her arm. Only for Hecate to jump out of her seat and move to sit between Rebekah and Greta.
"Go away!" Rebekah snapped.
"You're ruining girls' night!" Greta added angrily, a protective flame lit inside both of them at how uncomfortable Hecate was.
"How about I buy you all a drink and we can start over? I'm Ray." Ray stated, ignoring them and not taking no for an answer.
"They said no." Nik snapped heatedly.
"So how about you go on your way?" Kol added, anger fuelling him at how uncomfortable Cate was.
"I don't think it's any of your business. I'm talking to these beautiful women, so how about you be on your way." Ray argued, hands clenched into fists.
"I don't think we will, Ray Sutton." Nik refuted, smirking as Ray paled. "You were harassing my girlfriend, my little sister and our friend."
"And we can't stand for that." Kol added. "Plus, we've been looking everywhere for you."
"How - how do you know my name?" Ray stuttered fearfully. "What do you want?"
"Well," Rebekah drawled, playing with the straw in her cocktail, "we started in Florida. Pensacola. We met a handsome man there... who said he worked with you before you moved to Memphis."
"Now, he directed us to two gorgeous women," Greta added a smile upon her lips, "and they led us here. To you."
"I...I think I'll be going." Ray stammered, looking at them all nervously only to be stopped by Nik's hand on his chest as he blocked his exit.
"Not so fast, mate. You only just got here." Nik admonished. "And do you really think I'll let it go that you hit on my girlfriend even when she told you no and was clearly uncomfortable? No Ray." Nik glared darkly at the man before turning his head to kiss Hecate's forehead as she snuggled into his side. "Now, your type - not the sleaze bag we just saw - but the other type are very hard to come by."
At Nik's pronouncement, Ray made to make a run for it only to be frozen in place by Kol, who with Rebekah stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Hecate and Nik, while Ray's path was blocked by Greta and Stefan. Suddenly a scream wrenched the air as Greta broke Ray's right hand, the hand he touched Hecate with, with only a flick of her finger.
"I wouldn't do that." Stefan commented idly as if stopping Ray escaping was a daily casual occurrence.
"Vampires." Ray sighed. "And witches."
"Very clever." Nik praised sarcastically. "Yes my sister and our friend here are vampires and they've compelled everyone in the bar."
"So I wouldn't go looking to them for any help." Rebekah remarked with a wicked grin. "Oh and I'm not just any vampire, love, I'm THE vampire. An Original you might say." Rebekah's grin only widened as she noticed the fear and recognition appear in Ray's eyes.
"I, however, am something else." Nik commented as if he was talking about the weather. "A different kind of monster."
"NIK!" Hecate shouted, slapping his chest. "You are NOT a monster. Neither are Bekah, Kol or Greta!" Hecate admonished as her expression darkened.
"Of course not my love. I'm sorry." Nik placated, kissing Hecate's luscious lips tenderly before turning back to Ray. "I've got some vampire. I've got some wolf."
"You...you what?" Ray asked, startled, his mind failing to comprehend what was going on around him.
"A hybrid, Ray. I'm both." Nik clarified.
"And I've got some vampire. And I've got some witch. The Original Heretic, you might say." Kol added with a mischievous smirk. "As for Greta, here. She was a Syphon witch so I made her into a vampire as well. She's both a witch and a vampire, a different kind of hybrid."
"What...what about her?" Ray asked after Nik had stated he wanted to create more wolf and vampire hybrids and Kol wanted to make more witch and vampire hybrids, like Greta. He didn't know how to handle that so he was choosing not to.
Noting Stefan was going to give away what Hecate was, Greta silenced him as she had sworn to protect her.
"Let's just say I'm something else." Hecate stated idly, letting her eyes change to blue then back again. She wasn't going to give away her silver eyes if she could help it. But she did smile gratefully to Greta as she saw what she did and greatly appreciated it.
"To business then." Nik said, clapping his hands. With a flick of Kol's hand Ray was chained to the railing in front of the dart board with iron chains soaked in Wolfsbane while Stefan and Rebekah - who loved torture - took it in turns to question him and if he failed to answer then darts soaked in Wolfsbane would be thrown at him. While Kol, Greta, Nik and Hecate (who was sitting on Nik's lap) sat at a round table watching and drinking their own drinks.
"Brother, if you want to go and do that special thing for Cate then go." Rebekah coaxed, throwing two more darts at Ray with a happy smile. "Kol, Greta and I will get the information out of him one way or another and we will keep an eye on Stefan."
"And deal with his brother if he gets any closer. My bat is in the car ready." Kol promised darkly, glaring over at Stefan. He didn't trust him; none of them did.
"Very well." Nik acquiesced, tapping Hecate's hips in a sign for her to get up. "But once you have the information feed him this and snap his neck." Nik agreed, biting his wrist and holding it over an empty glass to fill it with his blood.
"We will. Now go." Greta ordered playfully, shooing them out of the bar, gaining a laugh from Hecate. "Everything is in hand; off you go." With that the bar door was shut in their face. Shaking his head, Nik wrapped his arm around Hecate's shoulders leading her to the field the moonlight picnic was set up in. Something they had used to do when he was human. They would sneak out at night meeting up in a clearing and would then feed each other berries under the light of the moon.
"Where are we going?" Hecate asked with a laugh, snuggling further into Nik's warmth.
"You'll see, my love. It's not that much further now." Nik promised, kissing her temple. Ever since he got her back he has to be constantly in contact with her either touching, kissing or both. Not that either of them cared all that much. They walked in a companionable silence just relishing being together as the street turned into thick trees which then slowly melded into thinner and thinner trees as it opened up into a clearing.
A gasp left Hecate's lips at the sight before her; it was beautiful. Fairy lights hung from the trees, a deep blue thick blanket and two matching pillows sat in the middle of the field surrounded by candles and pots of her favourite flowers: bright purple Saffrons. There were plates of some of her favourite things that she's recently come across: mangos, sat on a platter with some berries beside a bowl of melted dark chocolate for dipping, most likely for their dessert.
"Oh Nikkie! This is wonderful!" Hecate gasped, spinning on her heel to throw her arms around his neck.
"Anything for you, my love." Nik smiled, kissing her passionately. "Which is why," he stepped back, dropping to one knee pulling a gasp from his love, "I think it's time we did this." He pulled a small black velvet box from his pocket, opening it to show a beautiful vintage Blue Alexandrite engagement ring in a pear-shaped cut with a few diamonds surrounding it and set into a white gold band.
"Hecate Celeste Rosewood, I have loved you for more than a thousand years and with each year that passed my love for you only continues to grow. And in that time there is no one else I'd rather have as my wife than you. You are my soulmate, my heart, my world and my happy place. I love you more than life itself and I will continue to love you for Always and Forever. So will you do me the honour of becoming my wife and starting our life that we were supposed to have?" Nik asked hopefully, tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Of course Nikkie! Of course I'll marry you." Hecate agreed with a happy smile as tears poured down her cheeks. Her smile turned blinding as the gorgeous ring slipped onto her finger. The two shared a passionate kiss that was the start of their new life together.
