Chapter One, Breaking the Curses
Chapter One, Breaking the Curses
The day had finally arrived. Nik, Rebekah, Kol and Greta had spent all day getting everything ready, including having another vampire and witch to use for Kol's curse.
"You don't have to do this, Greta." Elena begged the witch to release them but she didn't listen.
"You really have some nerve." Rebekah spat coming into view with her twin brother Kol. "I don't understand how Elijah trusts you after you stabbed him in the back not once but twice, you also tried to kill our sister with your boy toys, but then he and Finn have always been deluded towards you Dopplebitches."
"Glad I still have people in my corner." Nik stated a smirk on his lips as he came down the hill with the coffin containing the love of his life. "Are we ready?" He asked Greta.
"We're ready." She confirms heading over to the altar to start the first part of the ritual which would release Hecate from the curse binding her to the Moonstone. "And the witch and vampire needed to break Lord Kol's curse are here protected by an invisibility and protection spell." She added. Once Hecate was awake and Nik had killed the wolf and the vampire she would then use her powers to alter the moon phase so Kol could kill his witch and vampire before changing it back to the full moon just before Kol and Nik drank from Elena.
"Perfect." Kol crowed. "Let's get started then so I can have my sister back and Nik and I can be free." Nodding her head, Greta started to chant in Latin, dropping the Moonstone into a copper bowl and pouring many herbs and potions over it. She watched gleefully as the stone started to crumble before it combusted until there was nothing left; a mere second later a gasp was heard from the ornate coffin, Hecate was alive once more. Before she could even sit up, Nik had darted over to the coffin, his hand reaching slowly in until he cupped her cheek, his eyes filling with tears that poured down his cheeks like a waterfall of relief.
"My love?" Nik questioned, his voice cracking due to the onslaught of emotions.
As Hecate's gorgeous green eyes cleared, a distinctive and breathtaking smile stole over her plump rose coloured lips.
"Nikkie!" Hecate exclaimed, surging upwards to wrap her arms around his neck, as he and his two siblings let out a breath of relief that wracked them to their core. "I've missed you. And Bekah and Kol!"
"We've missed you too, my love." Nik assured her, kissing her temple so tenderly that it shocked all those held within the rings of fire. A sudden hard shove to Nik's shoulder caused him to release his heart as he stumbled to the side, a glare directed towards his twin younger siblings that quickly vanished upon seeing how happy they and his heart were as they reunited for the first time in a thousand years.
"Dovey," Kol said, pulling back from his best friend, fully prepared to explain what was going on when she stopped him.
"I know Kolie," stated Hecate wisely, "Henrick and I have been watching over the three of you for the last thousand years from the Other Side, but when you finally had everything to not only wake me up but break both of your curses he went on to peace." She explained gently, squeezing Bekah and Kol's hands comfortingly before she let go and offered Nik her hands which he so readily took. "He also wanted me to pass on a message." She continued, looking at each of them in turn. "He said he loves all three of you so much and he is proud and equally glad that you three stayed together and protected each other. He also said that his death was never your fault, Nik and to stop blaming yourself."
A moment passed as the three Originals took in what they'd been told, a heavy weight lifting from their hearts and shoulders. "Now," she said, casting her gaze towards the Full Moon above them, "let's break these curses."
"You are right of course, my love." Nik agreed, helping her step out of the coffin. "Stay between Kol and Bekah, I won't have you taken from us, from me again." With a promising passionate kiss to her luscious lips, he turned and nodded to Greta who started chanting once again.
"You can't!" Elena cried. "Damon killed your witch and freed Tyler and Caroline!"
"Now, you see, that's where you're wrong!" Bekah mocked her.
"We've been trying to break the curses for over a thousand years so we've learnt to make sure our backup have backups and those backups too have backups." Kol smirked mockingly. He was so looking forward to killing the wrench, and then they just had to deal with the traitorous Elijah. As time passed, Bekah, Kol, and Hecate watched eagerly as Nik killed the wolf (squeezing her heart into the bowl) before staking the vampire - not really caring that it was the Dopplebitche's aunt.
The moment Nik stood from staking the vampire his eyes were starting to turn golden, Hecate knew it was time. Looking to the Full Moon, her eyes turned a light grey colour that looked like they were filled with the stars and constellations above; she used her powers to change the Full Moon into a Waning Moon. The second that moon appeared, Greta got to work chanting and breaking the Sunstone down into dust within a silver bowl that now stood beside the copper one.
"Now!" Greta commanded, waving her hand so that a witch and a second vampire appeared; Kol didn't need to be told twice, he'd waited over a thousand years for this.
In an identical fashion to Nik, Kol pulled the witches or rather warlock's heart from his chest, crushing it within the bowl that sizzled as the blood was added before staking his vampire (an enemy of Kol's from a few decades ago). Once that was complete both Nik and Kol drank the potion within the bowls as Hecate slowly turned the Waning Moon back into its Full glory.
"Your turn." Bekah smiled at Elena, ignoring Stefan who had tried to intervene only to be staked in the back by Rebekah, who was now shouting for Elena.
"Go to Hell!" Elena hissed pathetically at the five of them.
"Oh, you'll be the one going there." Hecate mocked, her eyes still the same grey. "After all, that's where all Petrovas belong." Shocked at the animosity directed at her - (as Elena thought the world and everything and everyone in it should revolve around her and only her, when it doesn't) - she walked with a scowl on her face as both Kol and Nik dragged her up on to the altar and drank from her until her death; completing their change.
Uncaringly they dropped her body as Nik's wolf and Kol's magic were finally unlocked. They were whole once more.
"Don't even think about it!" Kol and Hecate growled, sending the witch (Bonnie Bennett) flying backwards into a tree knocking her out and protecting Nik and themselves while Greta (who had a protection barrier around her, and who was actually a Syphon witch) sent the Salvatore brothers flying backwards leaving them with only Elijah as Nik started the painful process of turning into a wolf.
"You try anything and you'll regret it!" Rebekah threatened her elder brother.
"I'm truly sorry." Elijah apologised, but they weren't going to forget or forgive his transgressions so easily.
"You'll have to prove it." Hecate stated, turning away from the man.
"Come on Cate, let's go shopping to get you some new things." Rebekah coaxed, linking arms with her sister. "Kol, Greta, watch over Nik while he's a wolf. Once he's human again we shall turn you into a Heretic, Greta." Elijah's eyes widened at this but it was the last thing he knew as Greta daggered him - they couldn't have him running back to the Scooby gang again.
"Thank you, Lady Bekah." Greta said gratefully, happiness surging within her.

When Nik finally returned to his human self two days later he was stunned at the change to his love but she was no less beautiful, in fact she was more-so in his opinion. Her light blonde hair was now a blood red that hung down past her waist with the ends slightly curled. A curved moon and star earrings curled up her ears, dark eye makeup framed her beautiful green eyes with red lipstick, black coffin style nails and numerous tattoos covered her form (and he just knew there were others beneath her clothes and he couldn't wait to discover them); and finally, the green Viking dress had been changed for a dusty rose halter bralette, ripped black jeans, a black lace waterfall cardigan and diamanté platform heels.
"You look absolutely gorgeous, my love." Nik breathed, ignoring Stefan drinking blood behind him as he was trying to get Nik to help his brother.
"Why thank you Nikkie." Hecate beamed, sauntering to him to stand in between his legs, Nik's hands immediately coming up to rest on her hips, while her arms circled around his neck. "What's going on here?" She asked. So Nik and Kol explained what was going on while Rebekah and Hecate watched on intrigued with a newly turned Heretic, Greta standing beside Rebekah keeping a close eye on Katherine.
An hour later, they were all packed up and ready to leave this dreary town, having kept their end of the bargain and healed Damon, Stefan would be accompanying them for the summer as they searched for more wolves and Syphon witches or warlocks to turn into Hybrids and Heretics for the war that would soon be upon them. A war against their father, Mikael; but this time they would NOT lose Hecate again. This time they would be prepared and they would end his miserable life once and for all.

Author's note: DO NOT ask me to update in any way shape or form. There are other ways of telling me what you thought of this and I'm fed up of having to say this EVERY time I update for EVERY story, it's gutty and I'm sick of it.
Author's note 2: Also turning Syphon witches/warlocks into Heretics doesn't have the same problem as turning the wolves into Hybrids.
