Chapter 14 - Breaking The Shackles

It has been a fair bit of time since William was instructed on what to do. William meditated for a period of time, but it was being very difficult for him. His mind was always all over the place, he was overthinking on what is going on out there along with thinking of what could be possible. Yet he also doubts that he will be successful. His body was constantly shaking while the dark aura was flowing off of him, sweat beads dripping down his face. His eyes were twitching and eventually he opened them, breathing heavily. He couldn't understand what he was doing wrong.

???: "You are overthinking your outcomes Bismarck."

William then looks at the guardian. His eyes has anger written all over them. He was frustrated that he couldn't do what he was instructed to do. So far he has accomplished things when he was told to do so, yet now, something was holding him back, yet he couldn't tell why.

William: "You sound like you know more than you are letting on..."

???: "What I know is something you don't need to know. I am merely a guide to breaking your shackles that hold you back."

William: "Shackles..?"

???: "That bind that holds you back. The demon that is apart of you is clutching your soul. Holding you as what you humans call, a hostage."

William thinks about this carefully, though he doesn't understand how that could be possible.

William: "That.. doesn't make sense. As far as I remembered, my mentor Calli helped me by sealing him away. So how can he be taking control when he is locked away..?"

???: "Your mentor may have locked him away, but it doesn't mean that his essence remains in one spot. His power lingers through your soul, effectively messing with your mind until the seal is broken."

William: "Is he... really that powerful...?"

???: "That I am not too sure. Many demons I have seen mainly possess the body by messing with the mind. Then clouding them in doubt to allow themselves passage into the possession. But if the possession goes on for too long, the original vessel's soul will be gone. But yours is a rare case."

William: "How so?"

???: "Somehow he remained dormant for a long period of time. This allowed your body to adapt to his power overtime instead of immediacy. Once he took control, your body must have adapted to the point that your body became demonic in the process."

William: "And how am I supposed to correlate this?"

???: "His power became partially your own as well. You both share the same mind. The same capabilities. If he can use the power, so can you. This may be hard to understand, but keep in mind this one important detail. You are the sheath and he is the sword. Figure this out and you may succeed."

William then looks down, thinking about this and nodding to himself.

William: "I am ready to give this another shot."

He then closes his eyes. We now cut to Calli arriving to the scene of the battle she once felt, where she felt Kiara's power diminish last. But once she got there, she saw Kiara move Gura up to a tree, resting her in a sitting position while she was still passed out.

Calli: "Kusotori!"

Kiara turned around to see Calli sprinting towards them and bending to one knee to check on Gura.

Kiara: "C-Calli?"

Calli: "Kiara what happened?"

Kiara snapped out of her daze that she normally gets when she sees Calli in a worry.

Kiara: "We were fighting Baelz but it escalated and... we lost..."

Calli then looked around but couldn't see Ina anywhere.

Calli: "Where's Ina?"

Kiara looked to the side, not knowing what to say in the matter. Calli knew that this was probably not a good sign, so she stood up and stood in front of her. Kiara looked away in shame.

Kiara: "She.... she.... changed..."

Calli: "What do you mean by that?"

Kiara still didn't want to say anything in the moment, but before Calli could ask another question, they heard a massive explosion in the distance. Calli and Kiara looked in the direction, noticing that the explosion seems to be massive and they could tell that it might be from Ina.

Calli: "I need an explanation right now Kiara."

Kiara: "I... I... I do-"

Before she could say anything, she then passes out, due to exhaustion and stress. But before she could fall, Calli catches her.

Calli: "I got you Kiara."

She then puts Kiara next to Gura. Not sure on what to do next, she then calls upon through a small portal a skeleton of a bird. It flew around with its weird black and purple energy. When Calli lifted her left arm, the bird landed on her arm.

Calli: "Listen here, I need you to take to the skies and watch the fight from afar. Got it?"

The bird does a little nod and she lets it fly off to keep an eye on the two unconscious friends. With Baelz, the pace of the battle is constantly increasing. Though it was exciting for her, the issue for her was that she never gets the chance to strike. Every time she tried, she was countered by random tentacles that appear and occasional blasts. Though every time the tentacles try to reach her, she constantly flicks her fingers, releasing a burst or red energy that disintegrates the tentacles into dust. Eventually, Baelz stands still, breathing softly to regain her rhythm.

Ancient Ones: "Tired already Chaos?"

Baelz's smirk didn't fade, but she knew that her limit is approaching.

Baelz: "You know, why don't you face me head on, instead of bitchin' me around from afar?"

Ancient Ones: "You know as well as we do. You were created by the gods for a particular purpose. Chaos brings destruction, yet can bring new creation. We are not fooled by your trickery Chaos."

Baelz: "So you fear that I am stronger than you?"

Ancient Ones: "Who said anything about fear? We do not fear the gods. Your gods could have wiped us out. But they didn't. What balance would have been broken if we didn't exist? So we don't need to fear if you all intend to lock us away again. Like the cowards you and your gods are."

Baelz was slowly losing her nerves. She could take insults, but insulting her superiors is taking a step too far.

Ancient Ones: "Baelz, you are but a pet to the gods. You may be a leader, but you lack the fundamentals to carry the harmony that the gods wish."

Baelz was not liking the words coming from the Ancient Ones.

Baelz: "You know, you are contradicting yourself. Think about it since you are probably more than one mind. You stole a body to obtain your freedom. A mortal's body to say the least. So what is your goal if you succeed here? Eradicate all life? If you do so, you ruin the balance."

Ancient Ones: "The balance is nothing but a concept that gods use to bend beings to their wills and ideals. Us eradicating the mortal life within the universe will bring the harmony of silence."

Baelz was about to move but then the form of Ina appeared in front of her, grabbing her by the neck. Then starts lifting her up, choking her slowly. Baelz was trying to fight back, but the grip was preventing her from moving, like as if she cut off the nerves.

Ancient Ones: "A being like yourself may be seen as a god, but it is nowhere close to a true god."

She then threw Baelz into a cliff side that was close by. Once the dust settled, Baelz was seen, still stuck in the crater left behind within the side. She wasn't moving, she wasn't doing anything. Her hair covered her eyes, preventing the Ancient Ones from seeing her face. Baelz was thinking on how the Ancient Ones can still have some of their strength back in such a short time. She knows that she has dealt with other eldritch horrors, but this one sure is tough for her. But she didn't want to give up but she then remembered something, flashbacking to the time when she was still new at being the leader of the Council, under the watchful eye of a certain individual. This individual had long hair, though from Baelz's perspective, she was looking at the back of this deity.

???: "What do you want avatar?"

Baelz: "Omegaα. I need to understand, why can't I use my power!?"

Omegaα: "You would upset the balance. Your power should only be used when it is deemed necessary."

Baelz: "That still doesn't make sense!"

Baelz's voice was rising in anger, confused on why she shouldn't use her true power.

Omegaα: "Your power is special compared to the others. It cannot be used unless it is deemed necessary. Do I make myself clear?"

Her calm voice was still annoying to Baelz but she wanted to say something, but before whatever could leave her mouth, the flashback ends. Baelz then looks in the direction that Ina, or the Ancient Ones is approaching from. The slowly walking figure slowly reveals tentacles coming out from the back.

Baelz then finally removes herself from the cliffside, standing upright, acting as if she had sustained no damage. Yet the bruises all around her body were present. She then scoffs.

Baelz: "I am so tired...."

The figure then stops in its tracks, confused on what Baelz is getting at.

Baelz: "I am so tired of these damned rules on how the balance should be ran.... I am the leader of the Council... I am the one who decides the rules around here...."

Her grin becomes even more evil in nature. Widening as her teeth seems more sharper and deadlier. When she reveals her eyes, they were glowing a bright yellow, a dangerous yellow.

Baelz: "I, Hakos Baelz, the avatar of Chaos and leader of the Council, I hereby announce...!"

She then lifts her right hand towards her neck choker, wrapping her hand around it.

Baelz: "THAT WE ARE FREE TO DO WHATEVER THE FUCK WE WANT!!!!"

She then pulls the choker off, shattering immediately. Upon doing so, her energy explodes in a wide radius, encompassing her completely. Her aura starting to fly off in a wild-like rage. The Ancient Ones weren't phased at all. The skeleton flying about watching everything was knocked back and went flying back to Calli in fear.

Calli could feel this tremendous power, yet she couldn't comprehend on what it was.

Calli: "What the...."

With Amelia and Kronii, Amelia was on her one knee, breathing heavily. Though Kronii seemed a bit tired out. But their fight stopped when they both felt the power increase rapidly. Kronii knew what this was.

Amelia: "What is that...?"

Kronii: "Chaos."

Kronii turned to look at the large pressure of power being released into the atmosphere around them.

Kronii: "So you resort to that?"

Amelia: "What...?"

Amelia's eyes then widen about something else. She felt Ina's presence slightly underneath that pressure.

Amelia: "Ina..."

Kronii then turned her gaze to the detective. The Warden could tell that Amelia was tired and would not be able to fight any longer.

Amelia: "Warden listen... You have to stop the fight...."

Kronii: "Why should I?"

Amelia: "The Ancient Ones are.... awake."

Kronii's eyes slightly widen, though they weren't visibly known to Amelia.

Amelia: "If this continues.... then all the hard work will be for... nothing..."

Amelia then felt her power just completely fade out, and before she knew it, she passed out. Kronii didn't think of this as a bother, but as she walked up to the detective's unconscious body, she gripped her blades tightly.

Kronii: "You may be right detective, but I cannot interfere in this battle. Not until she calms down."

She then looks in the direction where the power is coming from. Baelz's seem overflowing in power and excitement.

Baelz: "I HOPE YOU ARE READY! BECAUSE I WON'T HOLD BACK! WHY!? BECAUSE I AM MOTHERFUCKING CHAOS!!!"
