|| Chapter 3 The Devil Himself ||
⚠️WARNING THIS CHAPTER WILL CONTAIN VIOLENCE/ GORE AND MATURE LANGUAGE ⚠️
Gamma Ethan's P.O.V.
ONE DAY EARLIER.
"Alright, ten laps around the perimeter than I want everyone to partner up were going to be training in our wolf forms today".
A chorus of, "Yes Gamma Ethan", bellowed through the training field before all warriors took off to complete their warmup exercise.
Ahhh, Zack, it's going to be double training yet again.
Zack my wolf only huffed in response, clearly not phased at following his Alpha's orders. Stupid loyal wolf.
Now that earned a growl from Zack watch it human.
I rolled my eyes at his remark, he's always got a stick up his ass.
Soon enough all the warriors began to circle back into the training field, it was a large expanse of land we had plentiful training equipment and gear.
You could tell which department the Alpha invested most of his finances in. He was a crazed man, who was well known for his goddess-given abilities but what he was mainly known for was his arrogance amongst all Alphas.
He continually pushed his pack beyond their limit, he expected everyone including myself to be just as powerful.
There was no room for weakness.
I looked back up to notice all wolves shifted and ready to spar as they stood near the sparing pads, though they were all waiting for my final command.
Plastering on a stoic face, I looked ahead, ensuring to project my voice loud and clear, "we need to meet demands. You are all strong warriors and must prove so continuously through your training. From today on, training will be permanently extended, you no longer will be completing two hours, you will all complete four hours, excluding warm-up activities. "
A couple of wolves huffed in response, clearly frustrated with the change. Though no one explicitly voiced their defiance, as they were well and truly aware of the consequences for such actions, no one ever defied the Alpha.
After all, he was ruthless, enough that the last warrior who spoke out of line, was currently locked up in the pack cells and he still was not released; it's been over two years.
"Do I make myself clear!", respect was an integral foundation in any pack, however with certain titles came more privileges and respect.
Soon enough all warriors responded through the pack link with a series of Yes, Gamma Ethan.
"Training begins".
Report to the cells immediately!
Is everything okay Alpha?
There was no response, I tried to reach him again, but he blocked the link. I took a deep silent breath, trying to prepare myself for another tedious task.

"Alpha", I nodded in submission; the only indication of his acknowledgment shown through his grunt.
The cells were dark, almost pitch black, only some lamps were pinned to each wall, which only provided the bare minimum of light. But that was fine, we could navigate through the darkness by using our wolf's senses and sight.
I began to trek towards the Alpha, though still maintaining my distance, after all, he's completely unpredictable.
As I continued to walk, the overwhelming stench of copper, blood, and steel filled the air making my nostrils flare in disgust.
I scanned around the dim-lit cell before noticing, a rogue hunched against the stone walls, his face unrecognizable. The Alpha must have spoken to him already, I thought considering the blood smeared across the Alpha's knuckles.
I stole a glance at the Alpha, I halted once my eyes met his face.
Shit.
His usual stoic masks appeared on his face, but what left me on edge were his wild eyes. Eyes that looked completely murderous, the gleam in his pupils emphasizing just how much enjoyment he was seeking from his talk with the rogue.
"You—", the Alpha nodded towards the warrior who stood at the entrance of the cell, "I want you to count".
"Yes Alpha", the warrior quickly responded, afraid of aggravating the wild-eyed Alpha any further.
The Alpha turned his back, taking large steps towards the Rogue, the light shining on half the Alpha's face leaving the rest dark and hidden from any wandering eyes.
What was the purpose of the count? I wondered, is it to keep time for every minute he wasted with the Rogue or was it for the Rogue report...
I looked back up to notice the Alpha's right arm drawn back, he quickly stepped forward landing an earth-shattering right hook. The Rogue's bleeding nose gushed with fresh coppery blood, the consequences of the Alpha's punch.
The only sound prominent were the drips of blood which continued to stain the concrete slabs. Each drop mixing with the dark slabs underneath, giving way to small gory puddles across the cell.
The Alpha lifted his right arm once again, but instead of delivering the blow, he turned his head towards the warrior.
"Are you defying orders?", the Alpha growled out.
The look of fear filled the warrior's eyes, his heartbeat increasing with each breath allowing others to hear his betraying heart.
"I-I No Alpha".
"I TOLD YOU TO FUCKEN COUNT!"
The Alpha dropped his raised arm and began to trek towards the warriors whose head was bent so far down, it almost... just almost touched the ground.
"Look at me", the Alpha growled out, standing over the hunched warrior.
Ever so slowly the warrior began to tilt his head, in a completely idiotic manner to meet the Alpha's wild eyes.
Wrong move buddy.
As the warrior's eyes landed on the Alpha, a blow so quick for any eyes to detect was delivered. The warrior dropped to the ground with a loud thump.
I inhaled a silent breath attempting to clear my thoughts, it was expected I had already anticipated the action. No one crosses the Alpha, there are always consequences regardless of the situation.
The Alpha turned on his heel, walking back to the Rogue who barely stood on his feet.
The Rogue looked so thin and brittle he must have been starved for days or weeks before his interrogation.
The Alpha enjoyed prolonging their suffering providing them with no food or water for weeks, it was his usual pre-interrogation method.
"NOW", the Alpha growled out.
"One", the warrior yelled out, though his nerves seemed to be getting the better of him, as his voice came out as a mere whisper.
"Two", another sickening crack echoed through the cell; the loud wailing sounds of the Rogue filling all ears as he howled in pain.
"Three", The Rogue dropped to the ground, his face no longer the only source of his tainted blood, but his arms and legs smeared till his skin no longer showed.
"TELL ME, ROGUE, WHERE... WHERE ARE THEY?", the Alpha barked out his command, demanding the information all Alpha's were dying to know...where the newfound Rogue pack was situated.
The drops of blood continued to fill the lingering silence, as the Rogue continued to grunt rejecting the Alpha's inquiry.
The Rogue's breathing, becoming shallow and almost non-existent as he choked on his blood. The blood that once had given him life now created the visible signs of his impending doom.
"Four", Another crack echoed, however, the splash of blood which accompanied it, indicating that it was more than just a broken bone this time.
The blood painted the stone walls, leaving a rather gruesome scene. The lights began to flicker, making the Alpha's next steps harder to predict.
It certainly no longer symbolized time, instead, the count held the power foreboding death, the count another ominous method the Alpha chose to corner his most hated enemies.
"Fi—", before the warrior could complete his count I yelled, "Stop".
"Alpha, with no disrespect I believe that is enough, we still need to investigate the links you have already killed the other ten", I tried to reason with the devil, little did I know the devil does not bargain, they determine.
"Careful Gamma Ethan, you're treading on very thin ice, it could break with the blink of an eye".
"Alpha I—"
"Take his position then".
"What?".
The Alpha kicked the Rogue to the side like a trash can and turned to point to where the Rogue once was.
"NOW", the Alpha yelled.
Fuck zack! we're dead now.
You just could not keep your mouth shut, you stupid human!
Oh, fuck off we still need the Rogue, we barely have any answer.
Well, you can get yourself out of this mess on your own.
Shit, taking a deep breath I pushed my leg off the wall and began to trek towards the Rogue's earlier position. My brown boots were completely drenched with the blood of the Rogue, the puddles becoming unavoidable as they grew into a flood.
Soon enough I halted, taking the position of the Rogue why do I feel like a sacrificial lamb? Why could he not just accept it for once...
"Count", the Alpha ordered aloud.
The warrior began to open his mouth," not you, I'm sure the Gamma could count himself". The warrior's mouth opened then closed like a gaping fish, his mind catching up with the words.
I looked back at the Alpha's face; his wild eyes no longer apparent which should have relieved me if what I saw next, did not awake some semblance of fear.
His eyes now held dominance, the kind that held complete control, a form of discipline but a juvenile one at that.
Nevertheless, I readied myself for each blow— "One", the Alpha's famous right hook contacted my jaw. My body automatically tensed for the next attack, "Two" the next strike left me breathless and gasping for air.
"Thr—".
"What on earth is going on here?", a voice from behind demanded. As soon as the wolf's scent traveled around the cell, I knew who it was, my savior.
"Kawan...".
The Alpha turned around, plastering his nonchalant smirk, "nothing just an interrogation with the Rogue". He turned kicking the Rogue on the stomach to emphasize his point, the Rogue only grunted in response.
"Is that so, then why is your Gamma pressed against the wall receiving the blows instead?"
"Father, I suggest you stop butting your nose into my business".
The Senior Alpha began to walk deeper into the cell, his face half cast from the flickering lights.
He began to shake his head in an exasperated manner, "I think you meant to say 'Our' business, the Rogues concern everyone. So, I suggest you put an end to this and stop toying with your Gamma".
I let out a breath I had not known I was holding, any minute now...
Come on... come on.
"This is the last time; you influence my decisions, do not make a repeat of this father", the Alpha growled out.
Whoever said blood is thicker than water... should first have a chat with the Alpha a duty-bound power-driven arg— My thoughts were cut off as the Alpha stood in front of me, his eyes glazed over.
Finish up the rest.
I nodded in understanding of the meaning, the death of yet another Rogue I will be held accountable for.
Just as I began to turn on my heel, the Alpha invaded my mind once again.
Do not think for a moment I forgot what you have done today, I'm watching you Gamma... don't Fuck up again!
With his last threatening remark, he turned on his heel with the Senior Alpha following right behind him; leaving me with the Rogue and a warrior whose erratic heart kept drumming rapidly in my ears.
Those who have not met the Alpha should be warned... he's nothing but a dark twisted guy.
And may the goddess save us all.

A/N
Thank you! To everyone who has read the chapter and reach this point yet again, I truly appreciate it ❤
This chapter was a bit dark and gloomy, but don't worry the sun will eventually rise and shine.
I would like to ask, what everyone's thoughts are on Alpha Vincenzo and Gamma Ethan??
