"It's delightful when

your imaginations come true,

isn't it?"

L.M. Montgomery

Anne of Green Gables

ANASTASIA'S P.O.V.

I woke up with a start, groaning as I tried to immediately sit up from my current position. I pressed my palms deep into the mattress, feeling it slightly bend at the contact. I tried once more to push myself up against the headboard and smiled as I successfully leaned against the cool board.

Each and every part of my muscles ached as though I'd ran a marathon, I tried to stretch my legs, gently caressing the tangled sheets.

I lifted my eyes slowly, peering into the room who's room is this? Questions... I had so many questions and no answers I was again left in the dark while others indulge in their own freedoms.

Sighing I closed my eyes, focus Anna try to remember how on earth you got here. I was in the forest before with that Alpha prick then the... "Shit", I mumbled.

My eyes grew wide as the memories dawned upon me, I quickly looked down at my ankle scanning it for any injury.

I sighed in relief, once I noticed my ankle looking quite so very intact and healthy. I shook my head slowly; it must have all been a wild dream... yes just a dream Anna I thought to myself.

Though the dream seemed so vivid. A black wolf appearing in the forefront of my mind, his eyes a piercing ebony. His mass structure and figure all to large then any wolf I'd seen before.

His fur thick and full, coating the surface of muscle and adding an extra layer of skin. He seemed lethal and ready to kill yet I couldn't miss the silent look of sorrow which filled his eyes momentarily.

The image of the wolf continued to plague my mind, who is this wolf?.

I could feel Roxy stirring, at the mention of the wolf she seemed to be caught in a sleeping daze.

Are you okay Roxy?

Hmm... yes just tired, she said in between her yawns.

That's fine as long as you're okay. Rest up Roxy.

Roxy nodded, shutting her eyes and drifting back off to her dazed world.

A knock to the door interrupted my thoughts, I jolted up from the bed my body tensing and readying itself for action.

I quickly scanned the room, finally taking in everything. I was too caught up with my thoughts earlier to notice anything.

The room was large, definitely bigger than my room in the attic. A large king bed sat right in the middle of the room, underneath it a plush grey rug which clung to the surface of my feet. Across the bed, a large square window filled the room with sunlight, lighting up all dark edges in the room.

There were two white bed side tables placed right next to the bed with a grey lamp on one stand and a glass of water on the other. I turned around slowly, spotting a large brown door right across the room, I wonder what it could be possibly a closet or a bathroom I thought.

I felt so out of place, standing in the room I looked up towards the ceiling right above my head sat a beautifully intricate chandelier, too beautiful to be under. I curled my feet into the plush rug, trying to find some sense of comfort in a place to spectacular.

"Are you okay?", a shrill voice let out.

I jumped, my eyes growing wide as I spotted the familiar woman blocking the entrance to the room.

Her thin eyebrows scrunched up as her soft brown eyes began to scan my face. After several minutes of scanning my features, she settled with sigh, her shoulders slumping and easing to a comfortable stance. She quickly adorned a large smile on her face, her eyes lifting up and pressing lines onto the sides.

"I'm okay", I finally said. I don't know why, but something told me I could trust this girl, call it a gut feeling or intuition, but I felt the need to reassure her of my wellbeing.

If possible, her smile grew wider at my response. "Great! Because you seemed like you'd seen a ghost for a second and I sure as hell ain't dead".

She then lifted her palm to her heart and pressed it to her chest then began to imitate a beat by moving it front and back. "See", she laughed out.

"As alive and healthy like a horse", she emphasized with a wink.

I couldn't help the smile that began to penetrate it's way onto my face, she sure has a sense of humor.

"That's the spirit! Geez I thought you'd never smile. You should do it more often, since you definitely have a resting bitch face". She laughed out, looking out at my wide eyes.

She continued laughing, her laugh quickly filling the room and bouncing off the sturdy walls.

"Yo-You sh-ould see you're face", she spluttered out.

I crossed my arms and raised my brow, waiting for her laughing fit to come to an end. Clearly, she's the only one to find it all to amusing.

Noticing my change in demeanor, she pressed her palm against her mouth trying to somehow catch the sounds which came out of her mouth. Finally calming down she looked up at me, while sporting a sly smile, "I have no filter", she shrugged.

"Clearly", I mumbled.

She stepped towards me coolly stretching her arm out, "I'm Hanna, we've met before though it was under unfortunate circumstances".

I eyed her outstretched arm warily then flicked my gaze back to her heart shaped face. Sensing my discomfort she retreated her hand to her side, lifting her other arm to scratch the back of her neck.

I nodded in recognition, she had help dress me when I was still recovering from the Alpha's wrath.

"Well then...", She clucked her tongue. Trying to spark up some form of small talk.

I leveled her with what she had described earlier as an RBF face. I have no clue why she was still here Surely, she belonged in the pack hospital not here.

As if reading my mind, she filled the awkward silence, "I've been assigned to 'baby sit you', by the Senior Alpha", emphasizing her irritancy through air quotes.

I scoffed, I sure as hell don't need a babysitter let alone someone calling shots on my behalf. I definitely needed to have a word with this Senior Alpha. He seemed to busy himself more then once with me, which at first I brushed aside but now he'd gone to far.

Hanna raised her brow while narrowing her eyes onto mine, "Care to explain?".

"They made the biggest mistake with assigning you as my 'babysitter", I used the same air quotes for the baby sitter part as she had.

Now it was her turn to scoff, she looked at me with a new form of amusement like she was viewing me in a different light now. Her eyes swept my body, scrutinizing every detail as though she were trying to find something.

"Look Chica-" she started crossing her arms mid-way. "I'm wondering the same thing, I was enjoying my cup of coffee before starting my shift, then Senior Alpha rocked up and dropped this bombshell", She waved her arms up at me to make clear what the bombshell was. I internally rolled my eyes trying to hold back a snarky remark.

Her eyes swiftly scanned the room, as though noticing where she was for the first time. She suddenly shook her head mumbling something to hear self.

I squared her with the same look as earlier, "Care to explain." It sounded like a question yet my tone clear, as my jaws set making it come out as a demand.

She sighed, "I've never seen his wolf like that", I raised my brow why is this girl always so cryptic for fucks sake I wanted to scream in her face telling her to speak clearly or to not speak at all.

Her brows scrunched up, her lips pursed as she stared out the large window.

"I mean the Alpha's wolf; I saw him place his paw protectively on you when they brought the stretcher to the fields. It took quite a bit of convincing for him to let you go. He snapped his jaws at anyone who tried to come near you.".

She shook her head in disbelief as if the mere memory was a part of her own imagination.

Shit the dream I thought. My palms were beginning to sweat as the thought the dream becoming a reality was all to much to bare. Calm down Anna it couldn't be you know how he feels about you already. I took a deep breath hoping Hanna hadn't noticed my internal panick.

Clearing my throat I decided to bite the bullet, "What colour was his wolf?".

"Really chica I'm here telling you how crazy the Alpha's wolf is for you and you ask me about his fur", she snorted trying to hold back a laugh.

I narrowed my eyes, locking onto her brown orbs I inched a step forward stepping into her space. I could see Hanna start to divert her eyes not able to bare scrutiny she was under now. Her adams apple visibly bobbed as she let out a shaky breath, finally she raised her palms up defensively.

"Damn you definitely remind me of a certain Alpha", she mumbled though I was near enough to hear.

I was nothing like her Alpha, the fact that she tried to compare me to him felt like a slap to the face. A low threatening growl began to leave my chest, bubbling up and simmering through my throat.

"I. Am. Not. That. Asshole", I growled out. I clenched my palms together at my sides, my nails digging into the skin.

"Tell me what you really think". She smirked looking at my fisted palms.

"It's black by the way". I stilled for a second taking in a deep breath.

"I mean the Alpha's wolf, his fur is black".

"Fuck", I mumbled.

"Geez Chica I didn't realise you had such a dirty mind". Oh, Hana was definitely close to having her throat slit out, I would be more than happy to fit her mouth with a fucken filter too.

Growling I walked past her reaching for the door, I needed to get out of here before I really did jump her throat.

I could hear Hanna's brewing laughter echo behind me, "Hey-wait up!", she yelled.

I pushed my feet faster trying to quickly loose her, but I could hear her feet quickly catching up. I turned a corner quickly trying to create some distance I kept running through the empty corridors not at all knowing where I was going.

Fuck I was to focused on trying to outrun the bitchy Chica, I lost my sense of direction not that I had any to begin with this place was all to foreign for me.

That's when I heard voices, pack member perhaps? Either way I pushed my legs further finally reaching a large set of double doors.

The wooden timbres of the door thick and lush, matching the rest of the sophiscated interior. I quickly stole a glance over my shoulder, noticing Hanna running straight towards me with a fiecre expression.

Her blonde curls bouncing wildly against her shoulders, she narrowed her eyes locking onto it's target. Shit she definitely did not seem like a nurse. Right now she ran like a warrior and chased like a lion after it's prey.

Turning back, I quickly pushed the doors with full force. The double doors opened with a whoosh, leaving me to stumble a few steps before I could catch my footing.

I slowly peeled my eyes from the ground, sweeping it past my current surroundings. Wow was the first thought that slipped past my mind. From my previous glances, I did notice the pack was different. It looked beautiful... absolutely mesmerising.

There were several white beaming columns in front, with gold detailing's painted in a swirl. Each column precisely placed to support the weight of the ceiling. Next to the side, a large no this was a very large staircase transcended up to another level which was hidden behind the poor lighting.

Golden Chandeliers hung from above, painting the grand room with golden sparkles capturing the darkness and quickly turning it into day.

"It's beautiful, isn't it? Chica", a feminine voice behind me addressed.

I jumped turning to the girl, she smiled reaching her hand out underneath my jaw and pushing my chin up. I'm sure my mouth was hanging open like a pup running in their true skin. Hanna, barked out a laugh in response, once again finding her own sense of amusement.

I blinked once, before clearing my throat and nodding, not trusting my voice as I was in complete awe.

The attic could definitely not compare to this, the rustic metal bed and cracked floorboards littered with trash was a stark contrast to this pack house.

It felt surreal, I'd never stepped foot in a pack house before my wide eyes continued to grow as I took a step forward marking each detail to memory. The walls were donned with  white and a grey trim.

The further I walked, the more I was enthralled the place was huge on one end were another set of double doors with a detailed gold handle.

The opposite end, however, had no door but an arch shaped opening where several wolves conversed idly while some sat down with a plate full of food. It must be the dining hall.

"That's the dining hall Chica", Hanna nodded towards the wolves.

"Hmmm", I responded marking the place into another spot of my mind.

After all, food was life.

"I can probably give you a tour later if you wanted?", she perked her eyebrows my way.

"No, it's okay, I won't be staying anyways", I drawled out.

Hanna clucked her tongue, "Oh I wouldn't be too sure about that".

I fixed her with a glare, crossing my arms and arching a brow, "Oh I'm sure", I growled out.

Not bothering to hide my irritancy at her suggestive remark. One way or another, I was going to leave before anything else could go wrong. Considering all the dangers I've experienced already, there was no telling I would not die the next second I remained in this darned pack house.

Suddenly I spotted some movement from my peripheral vision, I turned around blinking at a familiar figure in the distance. I blinked again, I couldn't believe who I saw.

His familiar length stood tall hunched over a wooden basket. His golden hair tied at the nape of his neck, his eyebrows scrunched up as he fiddled with the contents in the basket.

I took a step forward, curling my palms at my sides I could feel the rumble beginning to set deep within my chest begging to be released.

"Chica are-", Hanna's attempts at questioning were cut short, as I released a loud threatening growl which bounced off the walls from my chest.

My eyes locked on the man in front who remained oblivious to my blatant stare.

"Anna, I hope you're not thinking of doing something stupid!", Hanna yelled frantically at my side trying to pull me out of my raging haze.

I stepped forward ignoring Hanna's pleas, I stormed off the to man who now busied himself with packing away cleaning supplies.

Once reaching the man, I came to a complete stop my breathes now coming out harshly I could feel the steam flaring out my nose.

My hands trembled at my side, my mouth going dry as I felt my teeth descend pinching into the bottom of my lips. The metallic taste of blood quickly covered my lips, pulling my tongue out I gently sucked on the blood filling my dry mouth.

I closed my eyes, remembering the promise I made to myself, "If I were to see this man ever again, I'd seek revenge".

I opened my eyes. My crystal blue orbs now reflecting the black forest, I levelled the man with a hungry look.

"YOU SON OF A BITCH!", I growled out.
