Chapter Nineteen

Brielle's POV

I walked through the familiar cottage I grew up in. I ran my hand across the shelves with the same box filled different games, that James and I played when I was a child.

"I thought I would find you in here." I jumped at the voice of my mate.

"You know, you could've knocked." I told him holding a hand over my heart.

"I'm sorry, baby." He spoke walking over to me and pulling me against his chest.

"Are James and Lydia done packing?" I asked him looking into his beautiful blue eyes.

"Lydia is done, I think. Who knows about James, that kid might not even pack anything." I hit his arm.

"You're a butt." I snapped at him. He just chuckled and grabbed my hand.

"I miss him everyday too you know." He smiled leaning down to press a kiss to my cheek. "He would've loved the kids." I couldn't help the tears that filled my eyes. Lincoln brushed them away as they ran down my cheeks.

"Let's go." He told me tugging me towards the door. I walked next to him as we made our way back to the pack house.

"After learning who Octavia is I think I finally understood why James was so set on keeping me hidden and away. I can't even imagine losing any of our children." I spoke quietly wiping the tears that didn't seem to want to stop running down my face.

"No one and I mean no one will take our children from us. I don't care what rules we have to break, our children will not be taken from us." He growled and I nodded in agreement.

Once we got up to the pack house I called for the kids but I was met with a very unserious Brent.

"Do I even want to know?" I asked him.

"The kids are packing, that's all you need to know." He smiled evilly.

"Where is Jake is he ready?" I asked him trying to peek around his giant body.

"Jake is saying bye to his kids. He will be back any minute now. I wish you guys would let that doofus stay back and let me come with, I miss Octavia." He sighed.

"You will see her soon enough." I smiled pulling him into a hug.

"Mom!" I heard James yell from upstairs.

"Wish me luck." I spoke to both of them before heading up the stairs. I walked past Lydia's room to see her standing in front of the mirror. The usual glow that surrounded her was gone. I decided to ignore James and went into her room.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" I asked taking her hand and pulling her towards the bed to sit down.

"Is there really going to be a war?" She asked quietly looking at her hands.

"I'm not going to lie to you, it is looking likely. But we will make it through this, nothing will happen to you or your siblings I promise." I spoke kissing her cheek.

She leaned her head on my shoulder as a sob wracked through her body.

"Oh sweetheart." I frowned pulling her into a hug.

"What's going on with my princess." Lincoln spoke rushing into the room taking a seat next to her.

"I shouldn't be crying, but I'm scared." She whispered viciously wiping away her tears. Lincoln kissed her on the head.

"You know I'm scared every time we go into any battles or wars too?" She looked at him in disbelief. "Ask your mom, she knows everything." He chuckled.

Lincoln shared many sweet moments with Lydia before I decided to finally go check on James. I knocked on his bedroom door and he yelled for me to come in.

My brain almost imploded at the sight in front of me.

"James Darkstone, you have two seconds to explain yourself." I told him in disbelief. To say his room was a mess would be an understatement.

"I might have lost control, in here." He sighed scratching the back of his head nervously.

"What happened?" I asked walking in.

"I'm just worried about Tia mom." He sighed looking at the mess with a devastating look.

"We can fix this don't worry." I reassured him motioning for him to squat so I could kiss his cheek.

"Just close the door so your father doesn't see." I told him when a reassuring smile. He slammed it shut, earning a look before we focused on the mess at hand.

"You know, your sister is one tough cookie. She has been through a lot and survived it all." I told him squeezing his hand. "Where is the stuff your bringing?" I asked him looking for any sign of luggage.

He held up a small leather backpack before heading towards the door with me right behind him.

"Is that enough?" I asked him worried he might need something that we won't be able to get.

"Mom I am naturally warm, and we are only staying for a day!" He stated raising his arms in defense.

"Everyone ready yet?" Jake asked with a dirty look.

"Give Lydia and Lincoln a minute and then I'll make the portal." I told them taking a deep breath.

A few minutes passed before the two of them walked down the stairs holding a bag.

"Ready you two?" I asked them. They both nodded and stood around me. I raised my arms and envisioned the portal ro Ryland and Octavia's pack lands. Quickly a portal took shape and we were on our way.
