Chapter 35
Dipper's POV
Mabel came down stairs looking sad for some reason.
"Mabel, what's wrong?" I asked.
"I was telling Carson I was going to find him a new girl, but I got declined..." She muttered and flopped down and fell face first into the carpet.
"Mabel, don't be like that." I said annoyed.
"Uh, uh..." She mumbled into the carpet. I sighed and jumped down next to her.
"Mabel, come on. It's not your fault or anything." I soothed her, but it did no use.
Mabel groaned into the carpet again. I grabbed her shoulders and lifted her up from the ground. She looked me in the eye gloomily.
"Mabel." I said sternly. "Do you want to go out and do something? We can get Bree....and Carson I guess and go mystery hunting if you like?"
Mabel quirked up a smile. "Fine."
I smiled triumphantly. "I'll be right back." I set Mabel down and raced up stairs to the attic. I opened the door and saw Carson and Bree sitting on Mabel's bed talking. I forced down the anxiety. "We're going mystery hunting, you wanna come?" I asked cheerfully.
Bree was blushing. "Oh, do you want to go, Carson?"
Carson paused. "Sure." He finally answered.
I nodded impatiently. "Ok. Let's go!" I ran down stairs and grabbed Mabel's hand. "Meet you guys in the forest!" I called up to them and ran out excitedly.
Bree's POV
I was talking to Carson about how we would be pulling off this training thing when Dipper burst into the room. Blush rushed to me cheeks in embarrassment.
"We're going mystery hunting, wanna come?" He asked excitedly, but his gaze wavered as he looked at Carson.
I swallowed back my anxiety. "Oh, do you want to go, Carson?" I secretly told him Carson that Dipper wasn't to suspicious with my eyes.
"Sure." He said after a moment of silence.
"Ok. Let's go!" Dipper exclaimed and ran down stairs eagerly.
I waved at him and turned quickly to Carson. "Gosh, if the twins keep bursting in like this all the time, we're sure to get caught." I whispered.
"Meet you guys is the forest!" Dipper's voice came up the stairs and I waited till I thought he was gone to look back at Carson.
"Why can't you just tell Dipper it won't work out?" Carson asked sternly.
"I just can't! Ok? I don't know why..." I stood up. "Come on, let's go." I comically linked arms with Carson, though he wasn't enthusiastic about it, and we walked down stairs and to the forest.
"So, I've been wondering-"
"I know what you're gonna ask," I interrupted him, "and I'm still thinking about it."
"Don't you want to stay with me?" He exclaimed.
"Yes! I do! But Mabel and Dipper are really special to me! Besides, we have at least five days left of summer." I told him.
"Five days for you to decide." Carson muttered.
"Why can't you just come and live in California with us? It'll be great!" I smiled at him.
Carson sighed. "I don't know Bree, I can't leave Gravity Falls..."
"We'll be safer in Cali." I pointed out.
"I know."
"Then come!" I exclaimed.
Carson shrugged. "I'll think about it."
I laughed at his dull attitude and hugged him quickly. "Come on, they're waiting for us." And I took of running.
