Dipper's POV
Bree and Mabel, I guess, were staying up later. I had a hard time falling asleep, because they kept giggling and laughing and talking. But, when they finally fell asleep I was able to keep my eyes shut and fall asleep too.
I dreamt that I was in the forest with Journal 3. I was reading the pages even though I couldn't actually see the words on the page. Everything was black and white, but that didn't unnerve me in my dream at all. It was nice and peaceful. Suddenly the journal was gone in my hands and I was holding my 'Journal 4' now. I was writing something down on the paper, but I couldn't read it and I tried to lean in and read it when it burst into flames. I screamed and leapt back, but fell and somehow fell way deeper into the forest. I looked around confused when I saw a tall silloghette in the distance.
I squinted and peered closer and the figure suddenly was by my side. Bill. I cried out and tried to run, but I was glued to the ground.
"So...are you enjoying my daughter's company?" He asked.
I growled. "Leave me alone Bill!"
"I'm just wondering if my daughter's temporary companionship is welcoming while she's there." Bill said innocently.
"She's not leaving Bill." I spat. "She doesn't want to and is going to stay with us."
Bill shook his head. "You see, the longer she stays there, the more she's in danger."
"Why would you care? You don't care about anyone..." I told him, my voice low and angry.
"I don't care. She's my daughter, I own her." Bill said smoothly.
"Well, if you are so desperate to know, she's great company and I think she's going to stay with us forever." I said stiffly.
"What about when you leave for the end of the summer?" Bill questioned me.
"We'll bring her home with us, let her be adopted or something." I said.
"Well, that'd be strange to like your adopted sister, now wouldn't it?"
I grew red with embarrassment. "N-no...I just would ignore that...there are plenty of other people." I stammered as I felt the heat rising into my face.
Bill nodded slowly. "When can she be returned?" Bill said.
"Never." I said indefinitely.
Bill growled.
"You can't do anything Bill! You are stuck where you are!" I screamed at him.
Bill flicked the bill of my hat. "Keep thinking that Pine Tree."
And then I woke up.
Bree's POV
I fell asleep quickly, thinking about Dipper's little journal.
I dreamt that I was on the roof of the Mystery Shack, sitting next to somebody, but I couldn't tell who. For some reason, I was playing with blue fire in my hands, like my dad had. I felt so sad, but I don't know why. I closed my fist and looked up at Gravity Falls and the view was like I was sitting on the water tower instead of the shack.
I squinted down on the small town and was searching for something when the town suddenly disappeared. I flinched and fell through the roof of the shack and into the kitchen, but there was no furniture. I looked around wildly and saw a silhouette standing by the wall. The figure stepped out. Bill. I jumped back against the wall that now had no window.
"Oh Bree...you have betrayed me." He said sadly, though it was acting, Bill couldn't be sad. "I spend all day and night searching for you, just for you to tell me you weren't going to stay with me." He sighed in disappointment. "That's not how I raised my daughter."
I clenched my fists and growled. "Go away dad, I don't want to talk to you." I said sternly.
"Bree, you'll never be human. I wondered how you escaped so fast...clever...teleportation...a thing only a Dream Demon can do." Bill said with a smirk.
"Well, I'm not behaving like a Dream Demon any more dad. I only did that, because it was important for me to run away." I spat.
"Dear Bree...you are in grave danger, mingling with humans and with Jace on the loose. Who knows, he may try to attack you again, because he realized you didn't die." Bill told me.
I shook my head, hiding my fear. "No. Dipper and Mabel will look out for me. I'm safe dad."
"You're safe with me, in hiding." He insisted.
"That's no life! I want to be able to experience new things! To have an actual, human life! Humans were always my fascination, and now I am one. Now leave me alone, I'm not a priority of yours anymore." I went to turn away, but Bill was in front of me.
"You are my daughter! You. Listen. To me!" Bill screamed.
"I'm not your daughter anymore!" I screamed back.
Bill lunged at me and I was suddenly shot out of the dream into reality, my heart pounding.
Mabel's POV
In the dream, I was playing in the gift shop with Waddles. His image was blurry, like I wasn't really looking at him. I was singing happily to myself with Waddles and danced around the wooden floor. I leaned down to grab Waddles, but he wasn't there. For some reason, I didn't care and I just kept dancing. I didn't hear any music, but I felt like there was. I closed my eyes and twirled around and when I landed on my feet and opened my eyes, the gift shop was barren, an empty room.
I stopped, feeling strange, but shrugged. I slipped suddenly and hit the floor. The world seemed to have flipped around and when I stood up, I realized I was standing upside down. The floor was now the ceiling, my hair falling above my head. I looked around in shock and a bright light exploded beside me.
I shielded my eyes and when I drew my hand back I saw Bill. I scrambled back in surprise.
Bill leaned down. "Oh Shooting Star, what have you been up to?" He asked.
"None of your business." I said in my tough voice.
Bill shook his head. "I see you were trying to find Bree a love interest." He said, almost reluctantly.
"W-wha- I, um, yes I am- I mean -was." I stammered, still in shock that Bill had appeared in my dream.
"You used to be? You do know about Jace, don't you?" Bill asked, but I knew he knew.
"Yes. I do."
"Then why aren't you trying again? I know you would have, even though it hurts to say and hear." He grumbled.
"Um, well-"
"You're not talking about Pine Tree are you?!" He exclaimed, but he didn't seemed as shocked as he sounded.
"Uh..."
"You are! Oh Pine Tree, why him? Couldn't you just willingly give me my daughter back, so revenge on the Pines wasn't on my to-do list?" Bill asked innocently.
"No! Bree never wants to see you again! Leave me alone!" He shooed my hand at him. "Get out of my dream!" I ordered sternly.
"I'm just asking for a small favor... Besides, Jace is still out there. Bree is in danger, because of him. You don't want her to get hurt, would you?" He said persuasively.
"Of course not! But, we'd protect her." I argued back.
Bill rolled his eye like he was tired of hearing that excuse. "I just want my family returned to me." He continued impatiently.
"You don't care about family! You don't care about anything at all!" I yelled back angrily.
Bill sighed. "Shooting Star, I thought you'd be the one to corporate..." He said tiredly.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked.
Bill shook his head. "Please be on my side Shooting star." He said annoyed.
"Never! You possessed my brother and tried to destroy Stan's mind! Why would I join your side! I'm not stupid!" I yelled, slightly offended he thought I'd even take the offer.
Bill began to flare up with anger. "Listen!" He screamed. "You will follow my orders you-"
I leapt away from him and disappeared into a dark void and was flung out of my dream. I shot up, breathing hard and looked over to see Bree and Dipper awake as well with the same fearful expression as me.
