Chapter 9

From now on this is gonna be in 3rd person. Mainly because I wrote half the chapter because before I realized I wrote it wrong (and I didn't want to fix it).

Oh sorry about the wait btw I forgot this existed.

Chapter 9

"What the fuck is wrong with you people?"

~~~~
Percy followed after Connor and Travis as the duo talked to themselves about something or other. Percy didn't pick up a word. His mind was too busy reeling.
They were right to run away from him, part of him decided. This a was a matter of life and death and with a group of people who only had the same circumstance in common, none of them had a real reason to trust Percy. Just like he had no reason to trust them.
He had only joined them for the ride as something to do. Because he had nowhere else to go. He had latched on to those people because he had missed human interaction, because he was desperate for a conversation. He had latched on to them in an instant, and perhaps even faster he was ripped away.
"What am I supposed to do now?" He mumbled to the air. He had nothing, and no one. And even after this group had caught up with Leo, they wouldn't want him around either.
Well, how could anyone want him around when he attracted humans of the worst kind?
He stopped walking suddenly and watched as the two brothers moved on ahead without him. Perhaps he should leave before he got them dragged further into his problems.
He looked all around him, wondering where he could go. Before the robbery he could've hid out somewhere, but now his face was public. And cops couldn't possibly be that oblivious. Perhaps he could travel with this group until he    found a place to lay low.
"Hey!"
Percy looked forward again to see Travis and Connor watching him.
"Get your head out of the clouds," Travis told him. "We've got things to do."
"You're the ones who left me," Percy reminded him.
Connor waved dismissively, "Just come on."
Percy followed after them, doing his best to hide his limp as he did so.
"Even if I got away where would I go?" Percy mumbled to the air his mind once again on the group which had left him. Even if the manhunt died down he had nowhere else to go. Maybe he could work on a boat of some sort, if he could move water it could be helpful.
Percy wasn't exactly sure when he and the brothers had joined the others. The whole wall there seemed to be a blur of disjointed thoughts, though when they were clear again everyone was talking casually.
"Well even though that's not the reason we are going there, a river cruise should be fun," Silena commented.
"We aren't getting on the boat," Clarisse reminded her. "We are waiting for Hylla to get off one."
~~~~

"Run faster! We need to get on that fucking boat!"

Percy moved as fast as he could his eyes behind him as he ran. People followed in a swarm. Cops, people in suits, and those dressed casually alike all walked toward them as one. With the man from earlier smiling at the front as he led the way a blond blue eyes man by his side who appeared to be singing.

"It's leaving!" Connor's voice shrieked.

Percy quickly turned around to see as the boat began to pull away. Percy swallowed and focused on the water below and praying this would work, "Keep running!" He shouted.

"Are you stupid?" Clarisse shouted.

"Yes! And do you have a better idea?" Percy yelled back.

"There!" She screamed altering her course slightly toward a tall building, not too far away.

"I vote her idea!" Tracks shouted as the others began to follow her toward the building.

They burst in the lobby of the building disrupting the people around them, and made a beeline for the elevator.

Silena mashed the button as she said a mantra of "Come on".

"We're stuck once we get up there," Connor reminded them watching as the crowd of people reached the building doors.

No one even responded to him as they jumped into the elevator and slammed the button to the top floor.

When the doors opened Percy found himself in a fancy restaurant of sort. They ran past the host and the people sitting at tables, looking for away to the roof, another way down, something. But all there was the glass floor to ceiling windows to show off the view.

"We're screwed."

Percy wasn't sure which of them spoke, it couldn't been him for all he knew, but either way the voice spoke the truth.

"Excuse me!" A woman in a black dress shouted walking over. "You cannot be here! This is a-"

Perhaps it was his anxiety about the whole situation, but it seemed Percy could hear the ding of the elevator from here. Subconsciously he found himself backing up to the glass and breathing heavier as people emerged from it.

Percy's eyes flirted around as his panic rose unsure of what to do. He tried to take another step back when instead a shock wave sent out from his step.

The glass shattered, the building shook, people screamed as the floor cracked. When it stopped, the only one who seemed to be still in their spot was Percy himself.

But strangely he didn't feel drained or scared.

As the same fucking man walked forward looking pissed. A gun was in his hands as he marched closer, the crushing broken glass further under his feet as he walked.

He paused next to one of the broken windows and looked below toward the water as he raised the gun to be level with Percy's head.

For some reason Percy only found himself aware of the water below. Then he felt a tug in his gut and the water responded. It slammed into him, but he couldn't even felt it as it crashed into the man sending him flying through the broken window and down below before receding. Percy lowered his arms and stumbled forward to look down. He stared down seeing the ripples of water from where the man must've landed and he couldn't help the satisfying smile which creeped on his face. He felt himself waver and sway but the stupid smile remained on his face, as his legs shook and buckled, and his vision swam. He began to fall down, but honestly he couldn't bring himself to care. He was too tired to care, and at least he took down that man.

His vision flickered and then something grabbed his arm.

Percy squeezed his eyes shut, then opened them, forcing himself to focus his vision above him at the familiar face which was connected to the arm which probably just saved his life.

Percy opened his mouth to question it, but the sound that came out didn't match any words.

"We could've been gone but, we thought that tracker could be useful," Annabeth explained as she began to pull him up with the help of Luke it seemed. "We came back for the tracker, not you. So, don't go thinking we did this for you, Sprinkler Boy."

That stupid smile reappeared on Percy's face as he slurred the words, "Wouldn't dare."

He was vaguely aware as he was pulled up and then placed on someone's back. He tried to concentrate on the situation, but he was fighting to stay conscious.

"What the fuck is with you people?" A voice screamed.

"Freaks!" Another added.

"They destroyed the restaurant, docks and messed up the river!"

"What are they? Terrorists?"

"They're those bank robbers from New York!"

"Hey! We have names! We're not 'they' or 'those'!" Leo yelled back.

"I doubt that's the time for this," Nico commented.

"We're not terrorists. But we are a group!" Leo continued.

"Shut up," Came Thalia's voice.

"You can call us..." He said ignoring her. "Uh- The Demigods!"

"That's a stupid name," Nico disagreed.

"More than stupid," Piper this time.

"No. Just no," Luke said shaking his head.

"We are not calling ourselves that," Annabeth protested.

Leo shook his head with a large smile. "Too late! I already said it dramatically! I shall be team leader! So, Shadow Boy! Take us out!"

"I'll take you out!" Nico shouted back as we grouped together.

"They're gonna escape!" Someone realized.

"Now Shadow Boy!" Leo shouted with a smile.

"I'm gonna kill him," Nico said taking a deep breath.

Percy wasn't quite sure if he finally passed out, or if he was dissolving into the shadows, but either way he heard as Leo shouted once last thing, "Peace! Demigods out!"
