Chapter 2- Avatar State

You leaned against the railing of the Earth Kingdom's base, watching the sunset.
"Hey (Y/N)," You jumped at the voice of Katara, and turned to see her and Aang walking up.
"Oh, you two are still awake," You smiled softly at the two benders, who smiled back, standing and leaning with you in between them.

"Sure is a quiet evening, what's keeping you two from sleeping in?" You asked Aang and Katara.
"We should ask you the same thing," Katara said amused.
"Eh, the sky are really beautiful this time around," You shrugged, yawning from the days you were awake. The three of you were silent, until Katara turned to Aang with a concern and serious look.

"Can we talk about something?" She asked, making you tilt your head and Aang nodding.
"Do you remember when we were at the air temple and you found Monk Gyatso's skeleton? It must have been so horrible and traumatic for you." You winced at that memory, and placed a hand on Aang's shoulder.

"I saw you get so upset that you weren't even you anymore. I'm not saying the Avatar State doesn't have incredible and helpful power..." She trailed off
"What Water girl means, is that for the people who love you, watching you be in that much rage and pain is really scary. Trust me," You turned to face the landscape.

"When I was fighting Zhao, I lost control on where I was and who was around me. The genuine fear in Zhao's eyes might've made me satisfied, but then I saw Zuko's... and he had fear. He was scared, and I was too, because I had no idea what I did, and who else I hurt." You explained while rubbing your head.

"I don't want that to happened to any of us," You mumbled to Aang.
"I'm really glad you told me that. But I still need to do this," Aang shook his head and turned away.
"I don't understand," Katara frowned.
"No, you don't. Every day, more and more people die. I'm already one hundred years late. Defeating the Fire Lord is the only way to stop this war. I have to try it," Aang sternly said, and you took your hand away from his shoulder.

"Then so be it," You turned to grab Katara's hand to walk away.
"Sorry Air boy, but we're going to sleep," You sighed an continued to walk away.
"I can't bare to see him like that again (Y/N), thank you for understanding," Katara thanked you as you walked in your rooms.
"It pains to see yourself hurting people you love, trust me," You whispered as you laid against your body on your bed, Twig sleeping at the edge of the bed.

You expected to have Katara sleep in her bed, but your bed dipped and you jumped at the sudden touch of her hands on your side.
"What's up?" You asked her, feeing flushed against her touch.
"I'm scared (Y/N), not just for Aang and Sokka, but for you.

"Why would you be scared for me? I'm a tough girl," You smiled.
"I just... I heard from the people of the Water Tribe about your battle with Zhao, and about... what he's done to you," You grimaced at that, and pulled your knees up to your chest.
"Sorry, it's a touchy subject. But, I want you to know one thing," Katara held your hands in hers and lifted them up, making you make eye contact with her.

"You will never fear him again, and we will make you feel safe," She slowly leaned in closely, making your face heat up and breath raggedy.
"I will make you feel safe," You finally felt lips on yours, making your eyes widen and felt her straddle on your waist. You slowly, but softly placed your hands on her hips, closing your eyes at the feeling.

Soon, you pulled apart and looked into each other's eyes.
"Woah..." You breathed out, and Katara laid her head down against your chest, making your wrap your body around hers.
"Good night, (Y/N)," She mumbled, and you yawned, closing your eyes to get some sleep as well.

"Goodnight,"

You woke up by a sudden shake in the ground, which made you sat up quickly, and also made Katara wake up from your side.
"What's wrong?" She asked while rubbing her eyes. You and Twig looked at each other and crouched down on the floor, listening closely.

You quickly sat up and looked at Katara with worry.
"Something's wrong, I hear Aang running and others using their Earthbending!" You both ran out to the entrance where Sokka ran along with you.
"What happened?!" You demanded.

"The general's gone crazy! He's trying to force Aang into the Avatar state!" Sokka explained, which made you growl at the Earthbender.
"No good little rat!" You shouted as you and Katara jumped down to fight. Sokka threw his boomerang to knock one soldier out as Katara water whipped others. You jumped on a rock ramp and kicked on in the back.

"Maybe you can avoid me... But she can't" The soldiers' attention then turned to Katara as they sent the rings forward her. Katara tried to use her waterbending, but Fong used the same to absorb the water. He then trapped Katara in the sand below, making you jump down and bend the ground below to free her.

"One army against one person hardly seems fair Fong," You said while raising earth walls to protect Katara.
"Good thing I took one down when I was 9!" You smirked as you sent the walls at each soldier, in which they tried to dodge.

You shut your fists and the earth immediately turned into lava, where the soldiers backed off so they won't get burned. Fong opened a hole from below you big enough so you would fall. You hissed in pain at the death squeezing you, making the lava you Bender fall and turn to earth.
"Stop! Don't hurt her!" Aang yelled as he sends a gust of air towards Fong, but he blocked it.

Every time you moved the earth away from you, more sand filled in and you freaking hate sand.
"(Y/N)!" Katara and Sokka raced to save you, but the Fong knocked them away with a boulder.
"Stop this! You have to let her go!" Aang pleaded as he tugged on Fong's arm.
"You could save her if you were in the Avatar state!" He demanded.

"I'm trying! I'm trying!" Aang frantically said with tears in his eyes.
"You stupid idiotic rat!" You scowled as you kept on trying to dig and bend your way out of the sand, but you just kept on sinking.
'Lava won't do anything! dammit!' You thought.
"I don't see glowing!" Fong glared.

"You don't need to do this!" Aang pleaded with him, making you angry at the man torturing the poor kid.
"Apparently, I do." With one swift movement, you sunk into the ground, which made you no longer feel the sand. You quickly formed a little hallway and split the surface apart as soon as you felt the ground shake again.

You jumped out as you see Aang in his Avatar state, with an angry look and glaring at Fong.
"Oh jeez," You quickly ran over to protect Katara and Sokka with a rock wall.
"(Y/N)! You're okay!" Sokka said with relief, and Katara hugged you.
"Sure am, but it's Air boy I'm worried about!" You said as Aang then sent a huge gust of wave, destroying everything around him.

It caused your rock wall crack immensely, which you tried your hardest to keep in tact. Suddenly, Aang floated down, returning back to his normal state.
"Air boy!" You let the walls down and ran over, the two siblings following behind.
"(Y/N)... I'm sorry. I hope you never have to see me like that again. All of you," Aang muttered.

Before you could answer, Fong walked up with a overly happy expression.
"Are you joking? That was almost perfect! We just have to find out a way to control you when you're like that," He said thoughtfully. You had enough of this guy, so you trapped in in rock and created a lava ring, surrounding the guy.

"If you lay one more hand on him, I will burn more than just your hair," You glared darkly at Fong, who quickly nodded and you knocked him out with a stone.
"Anyone else?" The soldiers shook their heads and bowed.
"Do you still want an escort to Omashu?" A soldier asked.

"Heck no,"

"That idiotic captain, what part of being discrete that he doesn't understand?" Azula hissed and rubbed her face.
"To be fair, no one understands you when you whine," (B/N) smirked as Azula glared at him.
"Don't you dare talk to me like that, remember who I'll be in the future," Azula scowled and get her hand on fire.

"Yeah yeah, anything for my future sister-in-law." Your brother scoffed and ran a hand through his hair, resting against a chair.
"We'll get the Avatar, and you'll marry my baby sister soon enough, just know why I'm doing this," He replied.

"Of course, I'll marry (Y/N), and you'll get all the bodies you could ever kill, okay?"
