Before the ayat of hijab was revealed,before fasting was made obligatory,before zakat was prescribed,before salah was revealed to Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), the only thing that he invited people to for 13years in Makkah was Tawheed! Nothing else.
Salah came a year or two before the migration and so 11years of only Tawheed and the extra 2years of tawheed and salah. Out of the 5 pillar of a Islam,only the Shahadah was revealed for 13years. Subhanallah!!! That shows how vital it is to know Allah and surrender to Him first from because the deeds we perform are nothing without having faith in whom we're performing it for. It is important to know the Creator before iman can be fully at play in our hearts and minds. May Allah continue to guide us aright (Ameen ya Hadiyy).
