Fallout 4 Pt. 6

Luke snapped his fingers and the children were once again gone.

"Next on our list is the return to the Fallout universe. Izuku is about to travel into the Glowing Sea to track down Shishida, and he's also gonna make some new friends... and possibly enemies." said Luke.

It began with Izuku and Dogmeat standing on the edge of the Glowing Sea. As they got closer, the skies began to change from blue, to a grayish-green. There was nothing but destruction and danger ahead of them, but they needed to do this to find Toshinori. Izuku put on a hazmat suit he found out on his adventures, and he and Dogmeat entered the Glowing Sea.

We see a montage of them traveling deeper into the Sea. They fought bloatflies, and even ran into a couple of deathclaws. Good thing Izuku had a fat man with him.

"The large weapon Izuku has is called a 'Fat Man'. It's a weapon that catapults miniature nukes." Luke explained to the audience.

Mei began writing blueprints, but Iida stopped her.

"Mei, that's enough." he said.

Izuku and Dogmeat eventually reached a giant crater that had what looked like shacks made of scrap metal built in it. (Picture at the top.)

Izuku realized this was the area where the atomic bomb that nearly killed him and his family went off over 200 years ago.

They went down into the crater and saw a group of people wearing rags instead of hazmat suits and missing some of their hair. They also had grime on their faces and some appeared to be praying in a weird way.

One woman stopped Izuku, though. It was Ibara Shiozaki, who once again had normal green hair instead of vines.

"Stop right there, stranger."said Ibara, "You approach Atom's holy ground. Why? State your purpose, or be divided in his sight."

"What's my alternate self supposed to be in this universe?" asked Ibara.

"Keep watching." said Luke.

"Holy ground? Atom? What's going on here?" Izuku asked.

"Atom reached out and touched this world, bringing his Glow to us. It remains to this day, a reminder of his promise. Infinite worlds through division." Ibara said.

"The group you're seeing is called the Children of Atom. They're a religious group that started in Fallout 3 that worships radiation and atomic bombs, as well as their god 'Atom'. Ibara is in charge of the group in the Glowing Sea." said Luke.

"So, I'm a heathen. Good to know." Ibara said sarcastically.

"I wonder if this group would worship Bakugo?" asked Mineta.

"They probably would." said Bakugo.

"I'm looking for someone named Shishida." Izuku answered.

"Shishida? Yes. We know this Shishida. What do you want with him?" asked Ibara.

"Why do you even care? He's not one of your people." Izuku said.

"True, he is not a Child of Atom. But he has sought refuge in Atom's Glow, and Atom granted it. I would not question the will of Atom. What do you want with him?" Ibara asked again.

Izuku wasn't sure he could trust these people, so he answered vaguely.

"I just need some information from him." he answered vaguely.

"I see. In truth, this Shishida has caused some concern. Some believe his presence is an affront to Atom. Though he came to trade with us on a few occasions, we have had little other contact with him. It was quite clear he wanted to be left alone. You can find him southwest of the crater, living in a cave. I would approach cautiously, were I you. I feel he does not want visitors." said Ibara.

Izuku grabbed a magazine from the area, then he and Dogmeat left the crater and headed southwest. Once they reached Shishida's cave, there was a deathclaw sleeping outside of it. Luckily, Izuku was able to kill it with his fat man, V.A.T.S., and a critical shot.

They then entered the cave. Izuku took off his hazmat suit and changed back into vault suit and leather armor, since he was getting kinda sweaty in the hazmat suit, plus there were no levels of radiation in the cave. There were tin cans hanging from strings in the way, but Izuku carefully and quietly removed them and added the cans to his inventory. Then he and Dogmeat walked past some non-hostile turrets and a searchlight, as well as collected more cans that were on strings, before entering what looked like a makeshift home and laboratory. There was also a super mutant there wearing glasses and a torn up white and gray jumpsuit of some sort.

"Hold it! Take is nice and slow, no sudden moves." said the super mutant, "I know you're from the Institute, so where's Bakugo? Huh? Trying to sneak up on me while you distract me? It's not going to work! I'm not stupid, I knew they'd send him after me!"

"Is the super mutant who I think it is?" Kendo said.

"A-Are you Shishida?" Izuku asked.

"You know damn well I am. What're you doing here?" the super mutant, now revealed to be Shishida, asked.

"I need your help." Izuku answered.

"My help? With what? How did you even find me, anyway?" Shishida asked.

"I'm just a guy looking for information... on the Institute." Izuku said.

"The Institute? So, they did send you, didn't they. You're working with Bakugo!" said Shishida.

"Relax, big guy. Bakugo won't be coming after you. He's dead." Izuku reassured.

"Dead? He's... dead? Don't you lie to me!" Shishida said angrily.

"I'm not lying. I killed him myself." Izuku said.

"Did you...? Bakugo was ruthless. There's a reason the Institute used him to do their dirty work for so many years. I knew they'd send him after me; tried to prepare for it. But I still wasn't sure I'd make it." said Shishida in relief, "And so you. You killed him, eh? They what did you want with me?"

"I know you were part of it, and you escaped. They sent Bakugo out to kill you." said Izuku.

"How the hell do you know any of that?! No, it doesn't matter. I'm not going back. I can't go back! Look at me! Why are you even here? What do you want?!" Shishida said.

"Relax - I just need to know how to get in there." said Izuku.

"Wait, what? Are you serious? You want to get in to the Institute? Are you insane? Never mind how nearly impossible that is, even if you were to succeed it'd almost certainly end in your immediate death. What reason could you possibly have for taking that kind of risk?" Shishida asked.

"I'm trying to find my son. The Institute kidnapped him." said Izuku.

"Oh. Oh no..." Shishida whispered, "I had no idea. I'm sorry."

"At least I've still got a heart." said Shishida.

"Yeah, the Institute has taken people from the Commonwealth in the past. If your son is one of them... I can understand why you'd want to get in there. I can help, but... I'm going to need something in return." said Shishida.

"You help me, and I'll help you." Izuku promised.

"Alright. If I help you, you're going to do something for me. Before I was forced to leave, I was working on a serum to reverse this mutation. It could return me to normal. You understand? So if you get in there, I need you to find it in my old office, and bring it to me. I think that's pretty reasonable, in exchange for helping you." said Shishida.

"In case it wasn't obvious, Shishida turned himself into a super mutant in order to hide himself better." said Luke.

"Alright. Let's talk details. First thing's first. You know how synths get in and out of the Institute?" asked Shishida.

"Yeah, they use some sort of teleporter." Izuku answered.

"Well, well. Not many people know about it. Pretty closely guarded secret. You've certainly done your homework. It's commonly known as the 'Molecular Relay'. I don't understand all the science behind it, but it works. De-materializes you in one place, re-materializes you in another. I'm sure it sounds crazy, but it's a reality. The Relay is the only way in and out of the Institute. You understand? The only one. That means you're going to have to use it." said Shishida.

Mei secretly had her notebook ready to take notes on the Molecular Relay, so did Melissa.

"Now, have you even seen a courser?" asked Shishida.

"I don't really know. Doesn't sound familiar." Izuku said.

"Not surprising. They don't come out often, and when they do, few see them. Coursers are Institute synths, designed for one purpose. They're hunters. Operations go wrong, a synth goes missing, and a courser is dispatched. They're very good at what they do, and you're going to have to kill one." Shishida explained.

"Why do I have to kill one?" Izuku asked.

"Because you want to get into the Institute, remember? They're your ticket in. Every courser has special hardware that gives them a direct connection to the Relay in the Institute. It's embedded in a chip in their heads. You need to get that chip. But to get it, you'll have to find a courser. Now I don't know exactly where you can find one. They haven't sent any after me, and sitting here waiting doesn't seem like a good plan. You're going to have to hunt one down. I can tell you where to start, and give you some help finding one, but you'll have to do the dirty work." said Shishida.

"What do I need to do?" asked Izuku.

"Listen up. The primary insertion point for coursers is in the ruins of CIT, directly above the Institute. So you'll want to head there. Now, the Relay causes some pretty heavy interference all across the EM spectrum. You've got a radio on that Pip-Boy, right? When you get to the ruins, tune it to the lower end of the band and listen in. You'll be able to hear the interference. Follow the signal, and it'll lead you to a courser. Then you just have to... not get killed." said Shishida.

"That's reassuring." said Izuku, clearly sarcastic.

"Not gonna lie; the odds aren't in your favor here. But if you do make it, remember what I said about the serum. I need it, badly." said Shishida, "I... I really do hope you find what you're looking for."

After that, Izuku changed back into his hazmat suit and he and Dogmeat left the cave, but not before grabbing a magazine from the cave.

They then headed back to Sanctuary Hills, where the Vault-Tec Rep was also at now, and they walked through the rain and headed inside the building where Nighteye was sitting in a chair Izuku made for him.

"You need the Sight? It's telling me mentats will give us the right high for another insight into your destiny." said Nighteye.

"Mentats are pills that make you smarter." said Luke.

"Here you go." Izuku said as he gave some mentats to Nighteye.

"Ah, that's it. I can feel the Sight opening up. I see you... the might hunter... only what you're hunting ain't an animal, or a man. It's something different. Maybe something more than human. But... what's this? I see a man in a white outfit. Standing over your prey. And he says something... it's hard to make out... But I'm tryin' kid... He says 'Z2-47, initialize factory reset. Authorize code Zeta-5-3-Kilo'... Then he falls... And he's still." said Nighteye before coughing quite a bit.

Mirio was getting more and more worried about this version of his mentor.

"Don't mind me, kid." he said between coughs, "The chems are just... acting up a bit. I'll be fine... eventually."

After that, Izuku got some rest, then in the following morning he and Dogmeat headed to the remains of the CIT college.

He tuned in to the courser signal, and it lead him and Dogmeat to a large green laboratory building.

"That building is known as Greentech Genetics. It's currently overrun with a group of mercenaries known as the Gunners." said Luke.

Izuku and Dogmeat entered the building and went up to an upper level when they heard a voice on the intercom.

"The courser's on the second floor. Kill on sight. Send reinforcements to the lobby in case there are more." said the voice.

"At least he knows for a fact that the courser's there." Iida said.

Izuku and Dogmeat entered a large courtyard area where a group of Gunners attacked them, only to be killed by Izuku and his dog.

"What's going on down there? How many are we dealing with?" asked the man on the intercom.

The human/dog duo continued fighting their way up the floors of the building.

"The courser is now on the third floor. Reports of the second intruder in the east wing near the courtyard." the man on the intercom said.

They continued fighting their way through the building, and continued hearing more of the man on the intercom.

"Barricade stairwells and hallways if you haven't already." said the man.

They kept going up the building and killing Gunners.

"We've lost contact with sectors two and four." said the man.

They kept going as more fighting was heard going on upstairs.

"Fall back to original positions, the courser's nearing the elevator!" said the man on the intercom.

They then were getting closer to the top floor.

"The courser's after the girl. Anyone alive needs to get up to the top floor immediately. That's an order!" the man said.

"Girl?" Izuku said.

They continued fighting their way to the top of the building until they reached an elevator that lead to the top floor. They took the elevator up.

Once they reached the upper floors, they heard a voice from the floor above them.

"I don't know the password! I'm telling the truth!" the voice of a frightened Gunner was heard saying.

"I don't believe you are." said another voice whom Izuku guessed was the courser he was looking for.

The gunner begged for his life, then a laser shot was heard and the gunner was no more.

"All he had to do was tell me the password. Now, are you going to cooperate?" the courser said to the other Gunners he was holding prisoner.

Izuku and Dogemeat then made it to the upper floor where the courser was, and the courser noticed them.

"You've been following me." said the courser as he approached Izuku, "Are you here for the synth?"

Izuku wasn't in the mood for another deadly battle, and instead said something else.

"Z2-47 initialize factory reset. Authorization code Zeta-5-3-Kilo." Izuku said.

"How... did... you..." were the courser's last words before dropping dead on the floor.

Izuku pulled out a knife and cut the courser's chip out of his head. That's when the metal shades of a window opened and there was a young woman on the other side trapped in a room who looked scared. Izuku approached her.

"He... He deserved to die." said the woman, "I know you're not here for me, but... I can get out. Not on my own. I'm going to have to trust you to help me."

"I promise not to hurt you." said Izuku.

"I guess I don't really have a choice... do I? The guard put the password in a toolbox over there under the stairs. Use it to gain access to the terminal and open the door." the woman said.

Izuku walked over to the toolbox that was under a stairway, while also killing the remaining Gunners that were being held prisoner.

The audience was somewhat disturbed from seeing Izuku kill unarmed prisoners.

Once he got the password and unlocked the door, as well as switching on the elevator to get out of there, he approached the woman once again.

"Thank you. I don't know what to say." she said.

"Who are you?" Izuku asked.

"My... Institute designation is K1-98. But I prefer Jenny. So yes, I'm a synth. If you hadn't already guessed." said the woman, now revealed to be named Jenny, "I knew they'd send a courser. I just... didn't think he'd find me so fast. I think I would've lost him, too. But then I was captured by these... mercenaries. And all this happened."

"The synths look just like humans. That's incredible." said Melissa.

Mei also secretly had notes ready on how to make synths.

"Thanks again for your help. I'm going to look for supplies before heading out. And before you ask, no, I don't need any more help. The Commonwealth is unforgiving. I need to make it on my own or I'm dead. Maybe we'll meet again, under better circumstances. I... hope we do." said Jenny before leaving.

Izuku and Dogmeat both headed down the elevator and left the building. They then decided to go to Recovery Girl in Goodneighbor to see if she knew anything about courser chips.

They were about to enter the Memory Den, but first they noticed two Goodneighbor guards standing around a corpse on the ground. Izuku approached them.

"Can't believe it. He looked just like Sammy, too." said one guard, who was a ghoul.

"Sure as hell didn't act like him. Institute thinks they can replace people with synths in THIS town? They got another thing comin'." said the other guard, who was human.

The ghoul guard sighed.

"What am I gonna tell his mother?" he said.

Izuku decided to talk to the ghoul guard.

"Got a reason to be bothering me? I just had to shoot up a synth body snatcher over here." said the ghoul guard.

"You killed him. Just like that?" Izuku said in disgust.

"Hey, hey. I don't like what you're implying here, smoothskin. If he was just a synth, there'd be no problem. But he killed Sammy. Replaced him." said the ghoul guard, "But we know our own better than any Institute spy, so we did what we had to do. Now get out of my face."

Izuku then talked to the human guard.

"Hey. Just your friendly neighborhood watch, shootin' down Institute spies as they crop up." the human guard said.

"You just gunned this man down? In the street?" Izuku said, still disgusted.

"Hell yeah! Not a bad shot, if I do say so myself. Can't let the Institute win, ya know? They replace one of ours with a synth? We put that copycat in the ground. That's how Goodneighbor plays. Now why don't you move along?" said the human guard.

Izuku and Dogmeat then entered the Memory Den where Recovery Girl was using a terminal. The guy with the bald head and sunglasses was also there, sitting in a memory pod.

"You're back! The Glowing Sea, Shishida. What happened?" Recovery Girl asked.

"I found Shishida. He has a way inside the Institute, but I need a code from a courser chip." Izuku explained as he held up the courser chip.

"A courser chip? You fought a courser? Oh my god." Recovery Girl whispered that last part, "Unfortunately, I can't help you. I've worked on a lot of synths, but never a courser. I don't know what that chip does, let alone how to decode it. But there are people who might. I work with a group that, well, they're the only ones I know that even have a chance at cracking Institute security. They're called... The Railroad."

"Sounds like Iida's thing." Kaminari joked.

"The Railroad?" Izuku asked.

"They help synths escape the Institute. I don't know who they all are. Usually, an agent of theirs just shows up with someone who needs new memories. One of them gave me a code phrase. Said it would help me find them if there was ever an emergency: Follow the Freedom Trail." Recovery Girl explained.

"Any idea what the code phrase means?" asked Izuku.

"I'm not sure, but I remember there was a prewar landmark with a similar name. I'd start there. Hopefully, they've placed other clues to tell you where to go after that, hidden somewhere in plain sight. That's how they think." Recovery Girl said.

"Alright. I'll find them." said Izuku.

"Good luck. I'm sorry what I have is so cryptic, but hopefully you can figure things out as you go." said Recovery Girl.

Izuku then left the Memory Den with Dogmeat, but before that, he went inside the Old State House that Sero lived in. In there, he found a holotape labeled 'Join the Railroad' that Sero let him borrow. Izuku then left the State House and went into the small alley to the right of the Memory Den to listen to the holotape. He put the tape in his Pip-Boy and it began playing a message.

"Wake up, Commonwealth." said the voice of a woman.

Vlad and Class 1-B couldn't put their finger on it, but the voice sounded familiar to them.

"Synths are not your enemy. They are victims in this war, as well. True, they were created by the Institute. But they were created as slaves. Thinking, feeling, and dreaming beings utterly oppressed by their tyrannical masters. So join with us in fighting the real enemy: The Institute. Join the Railroad. When you're ready for that next step, don't worry, we'll find you." said the voice before the holotape ended.

"Did that voice sound familiar to any of you?" Ibara said to her classmates and teacher.

"It did. I could've sworn I heard it somewhere before." said Tetsutetsu.

Izuku and Dogmeat then left Goodneighbor. They passed by the Swan Lake park where they fought the super mutant behemoth, when they noticed a sign that read 'The Freedom Trail' and a robot walking around. Izuku approached the robot.

"That kind of robot is called a protectron." said Luke.

"Welcome, patriot, to Boston Common. The start of the Freedom Trail." said the protectron in a robotic voice, "Feast your ears and learn more about the historic Freedom Trail and learn the history of Boston Common."

"Tell me about the Freedom Trail." Izuku said.

"Starting here at Boston Common, follow the red path as it winds its way through our great city's streets. Markers on the trail are placed at many famous historic sites. See Paul Revere's House, the Old North Church, the Old State House, Bunker Hill, and many more!" said the protectron.

Izuku looked down at the first part of the Freedom Trail:

"7... and... A. Hm? Some sort of code?" Izuku mumbled.

There was also a wooden sign in front of the start of the trail that that read 'AT JOURNEY'S END FOLLOW FREEDOM'S LANTERN'.

And Izuku and Dogmeat began their journey. We see a montage of them following the trail to various historic locations, each one with a number and letter combination. They eventually arrived at the Old North Church that Paul Revere used.

Izuku looked down at the last letter and number combination.

"1R. Hmmm... The trail ends right at the church." Izuku said.

He and Dogmeat entered the church, but right before they did, they noticed the symbol of a lantern painted in white on the wall next to the entrance.

Once there were inside, they fought some feral ghouls and headed down into the catacombs of the church. They followed the trail of lantern symbols that were painted on the walls, as well as fought more feral ghouls, until they reached a mechanism that looked the same as the other markers from the Freedom Trail. It was hooked up to what looked like a movable stone wall.

Izuku moved the part of the mechanism with words on it clockwise.

"Hm. It spins." he mumbled.

He then pressed the center of the mechanism in, but it made a sound that indicated he made the wrong combination.

"So that's... not right." Izuku said.

He then remembered all the number and letter combinations from earlier and realized what they meant. He moved the ring to the letter 'R' and pressed the center of the mechanism in, making a sound that indicated he chose the correct letter.

"Ah. So it starts with R." Izuku said.

"It's pretty impressive that a place as old as that church has such an advanced mechanism." said Melissa.

He spelled out the word 'Railroad' and the wall slip open.

"There we go." Izuku said.

He looked down the now opened entrance to see a pitch black room up ahead. He had his gun ready and slowly approached the dark room, but once he entered it, the lights came on and Izuku saw three people standing in front of him: an adult Kendo, Miruko but in normal human form and armed with a minigun, and some other person aiming a pistol at Izuku.

"Stop right there." said Kendo, "You went through a lot of effort to arrange this meeting. But before we go any further, answer my questions. Who the hell are you?"

"I take it Miruko and I are part of the Railroad?" Kendo said.

"Yeah. You're actually the leader of the Railroad." Luke told her.

Class 1-B and Vlad realized it was Kendo's voice they heard on the holotape, just older sounding.

"I followed the Freedom Trail looking for the Railroad. I'm not your enemy." said Izuku reassuringly.

"If that's true, you have nothing to fear. Who told you how to contact us?" Kendo asked.

"Doctor Shuzenji told me how to find you." Izuku answered.

"Very interesting." Kendo said as the guy with the sunglasses from earlier came entered the room and stood next to Kendo. This time he also had a black pompadour style wig on, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers.

"It's that guy again! I knew he was following Midoriya!" said Jiro.

"Last question. Why are you here?" Kendo asked.

Izuku decided to give her the full story.

"I tracked down and killed a courser at Greentech Genetics. Now I need help breaking the code on his courser chip." he explained.

"You have what? This is not a joking matter." said Kendo.

"I didn't know we were having a party. What gives with my invitation?" the man with the sunglasses said jokingly before turning to Izuku, "Oh, I see you invited the courser-killer. Nice."

"Deacon, you're late. You're saying this intruder actually killed a courser? Single-handedly? That'd give even Glory a run for her money." said Kendo.

"News flash, boss, this guy is kind of a big deal. If you're done interrogating him, you might want to show this courser-murdering machine a little courtesy. Just a thought." said the man, now revealed to be named Deacon.

Kendo turned her head back to Izuku.

"I owe you an apology. Anyone who kills a courser is good in my book. I'm Desdemona and I'm the leader of the Railroad." said Kendo.

"Desdemona is Kendo's codename. Glory is Miruko's. The guy with the sunglasses's codename is Deacon. And the other guy's codename is Drummer Boy." Luke explained.

"Hopefully we can work something out." said Izuku.

"What you're asking for puts us in a tricky position." said Kendo.

"Des, we need to let him in. He's got an intact courser chip, for god's sake." said Deacon.

"That violates our security protocols." Kendo said to him.

"To hell with that. He killed a courser. There's no way he's working for the Institute." said Deacon.

Kendo turned her head back to Izuku.

"We're letting you into our headquarters. You're the first outsider ever to be given this privilege. We'll discuss the details about your chip inside." she said.

Izuku, Kendo, and Dogmeat then headed deeper inside the catacombs and entered a large room of some sort with other agents in it.

"Decoding a courser chip is a very delicate operation. A million things can go wrong - the least of which is losing the data." said Kendo, "Fortunately, we have the right woman for the job."

They approached an adult Mei, who wore an outfit similar to the Power Loader in this universe, although she also had a weird headset on her head.

"Hi, Dez. You need something?" Mei asked.

"Mei. Our visitor here has a courser chip." said Kendo.

"Whoa! For real? Oh man, it's been ages!" said Mei.

"Mei's Railroad codename is Tinker Mei." said Luke.

"Right. Some ground rules. Mei can get you the code, but once she's done, we get the courser chip." Kendo explained to Izuku.

"Why do you want the courser chip?" Izuku asked.

"Institute tech is light years beyond what we have. And a courser chip is top of the line. I'm not going to get into details. But that chip could help us save lives. Maybe throw a wrench in some of the Institute's operations. So, hand over the chip." said Kendo.

"Fine. It's yours." said Izuku.

"Alright, Mei. Make it happen." Kendo said to Mei.

Izuku handed Mei the chip and she began to go to work on it.

"Alright, little courser chip. Let's have the circuit analyzer take a crack at you." she said as she looked at the courser chip through a device of hers that had a magnifying glass on it, then she plugged the chip into the device and went to her terminal that was next to the device.

"We're in. Chip accessed. Just poke the analog connectors a little. What? Oh, man. Don't crash. Hold it together. Memory hiccup." Mei mumbled that last part.

The audience began to grow worried if Mei was gonna be able to get the code or not.

"Here it comes. Encryption algorithms. Alright. We're still running. Oh, man. They've added more decimals to the last cipher. This is gonna beeee..." Mei kept going at the terminal, "C'mon, baby, show me that pattern. Where is it? Wait... They're using the same logarithmic function as the key generator. Oh man, we got lucky. I got you, you Institute bastard! I got you! Solve for N. Come on, show me that sweet base number. And we got it! We got the code!"

Izuku and Ochako sighed in relief. The Izuku in this universe was one step closer to finding Toshi.

Mei laughed.

"Let me load that onto a holotape for ya." Mei said as she downloaded the data onto a holotape and handed the holotape to Izuku.

"Good work, Mei." said Kendo.

"Not sure our luck will hold you next time, Dez." said Mei.

"Start working on the rest of the chip." Kendo said before turning her attention back to Izuku.

"And you. I'd love to work with you more. Let me know if you're interested. But to be crystal clear, if you use that data and discover anything involving the Institute - you share it was us first. Otherwise our relationship will be in jeopardy." said Kendo.

Kendo walked away, but Izuku followed after her.

"Desdemona." Izuku said.

"If we're going to be dealing more with each other, I need to make sure we're on the same page. You know what a synth is, right?" Kendo asked as she turned to face him.

"Yeah, I know all about them." said Izuku.

"Good. The Institute treats synths as property. As tools." said Kendo.

"Why does the Institute treat them that way?" Izuku asked.

"They're playing god. Tinkering with things they don't fully understand. From that lofty vantage, it's easy to deny their creation's very humanity." said Kendo.;

"That sounds like slavery." said Izuku.

"Exactly. So we seek to free the synths from their bondage. Give them a chance at a real life." Kendo explained, "I have a question. The only question that matters. Would you risk your life for your fellow man? Even if that man is a synth?"

"This is total bullshit. These idiots seriously think robots are people?" Monoma sneered before getting hit on the head by Kendo.

"It's clear from other universes we've seen that technology can be sentient. The robots we saw in the Overwatch universe, Shoto in the MCU and this universe, Red Tornado in the Young Justice universe, Eri in the Sword Art Online universe, and many others. Who's to say these synths can't be sentient, either?" said Momo.

Izuku thought about this for a moment. He had seen the look of genuine fear in that synth named Jenny whom he met earlier. He had seen the liveliness in Todoroki. He had seen the kindness and care Codsworth gave baby Toshi back in the pre-war era. Maybe machines really can feel emotion. He made his decision.

"Once I pledged my life to protect my countrymen... I don't see this as any different." said Izuku.

"Well said. Someone with your skills, your beliefs, normally we'd try to recruit you. But right now we don't have time to train up a new agent. There are, however, other valuable ways you can contribute. And in turn we can help you. See Deacon for details. You're free to go." said Kendo.

Izuku and Dogmeat headed back out to the area where Deacon was and Izuku talked to him.

"Hope you didn't mind the reception. When you tango with the Institute you got to be careful when someone new gets on the dance floor." said Deacon.

"Your leader was just being cautious." said Izuku forgivingly.

"Exactly. Kind of killed our chance at a friendly first impression, though. But it's all good now. I vouched for you. Nobody got shot. Still, I would consider it a close personal favor if you didn't sell us out to the Institute. Thanks." said Deacon.

Izuku was a bit suspicious as to why Deacon would vouch for him.

"So tell me. Why did you vouch for me?" asked Izuku.

"In our little outfit, it's my job to know things. And with everything you've done it's clear you're capable. A dangerous enemy. And, I'm betting, a valuable ally." said Deacon.

Izuku was convinced there was more Deacon had to hide.

"But why the trust? You can't be taking it all on faith." Izuku said.

"I don't know if we can trust you. But I hope we can. We just survived a hell of a crisis. So we may be just a teeny, weeny bit desperate for new members. If everything was sunshine and bottle caps, we'd probably play a longer 'getting to know you' game. But we don't have that luxury." Deacon explained.

Izuku still wasn't fully convinced.

"Really? Is that all?" he asked.

"You just don't give up? Alright, I have a short list of people I think would be a good fit for our family. You piqued my interest, so I maybe asked around. Did my homework. If you hadn't found us, there's a good chance I would've found you, instead. Thanks for saving me the trip." explained Deacon.

Deacon's voice was really starting to sound familiar to Aizawa and Class 1-A.

"Is this Deacon guy someone we know? His voice sounds super familiar." said Jiro.

"Deacon is Kaminari." said Luke.

"He's me? But he looks nothing like me." Kaminari said.

"That's because you use a thing that exists in this universe called facial reconstruction. Facial reconstruction allows a person to completely alter their appearance and body shape. Every few years you change your face so you can be better undercover on missions and stuff, as well as where different disguises all the time. You're also a compulsive liar who makes up all sorts of stories about yourself to hide who you are even more. You've been watching Izuku since he left Vault 111 and have been following him across the Commonwealth, and you may or may not have also been the main protagonist of Fallout 3." Luke explained to Kaminari.

"I was?!" Kaminari said in surprise.

"At least according to a fan theory you were." said Luke.

"So Dez wants me to make you a 'tourist'. That's what we call someone who helps out with the odd job here and there. What a waste. I'm just going to come out and say this: the Railroad needs you." said Deacon, now revealed to be Kaminari.

"You got my attention." Izuku said.

"I got a job. Too big for me. Just big enough for the two of us. You help me out, we turn a few heads, and then Dez invites you into the fold. Then if you get into a bind and need help, your buddies in the Railroad got your back." said Kaminari.

"What's the job?" asked Izuku.

"So up front, the only thing I'll say is it's going to be a wild and dangerous ride. But probably nothing new for someone like you." Kaminari said.

"Sign me up, then." Izuku said.

"Perfecto. Let's meet up at the old freeway outside Lexington. I'll fill you in once you get there." said Kaminari.

"Now I'm gonna fast forward to after the mission is over. Just like I did with the mission of Izuku and Kirishima." said Luke as he pressed the fast forward button on his remote.

It cut to Izuku arriving back at the underground catacombs beneath the church. He was now armed with a unique looking silence pistol. When he got there, he saw Kaminari, now wearing different clothes and no wig, talking to Kendo, who was smoking a cigarette.

"And the new guy patched me up, put me on his shoulder, and blasted his way through the rest of the complex. Synths everywhere." said Kaminari.

"Carrying you the whole time?" Kendo asked.

"Amazing, right?" Kaminari said.

"That's one word for it." said Kendo before turning her attention to Izuku.

"Deacon told me you single-handedly secured Carrington's prototype, disabled a minefield, and wiped out a hundred gen 1s. So, is any of that true?" Kendo asked.

"We got the job done. Does the rest matter?" Izuku said.

"I suppose not." said Kendo.

"Did we actually fight a hundred synths?" Kaminari asked.

"No. What happened was that you, Izuku, and Dogmeat went into the Railroad's old base called 'The Switchboard' which is an old abandoned government base located underneath what's left of a pre-war donut shop. You guys fought a few dozen gen 1 and 2 synths, but not a hundred. Then you secured a prototype device that belonged to another Railroad agent named Doctor Carrington and you gave Izuku a unique silenced pistol called 'The Deliverer' that belonged to a fallen Railroad agent named Tommy Whispers. Now you're back at the church." explained Luke.

"I was expecting Deacon to grab a full team, including Glory, to secure that prototype. But instead just the two of you cleared out the entire Switchboard." said Kendo.

"You'd be insane not to sign him up, Dez." said Kaminari.

"You've certainly made an impression on Deacon. He's never spoken about, or lied about, anyone so highly before. Welcome to the Railroad, agent." said Kendo.

Izuku decided it couldn't hurt to have more allies.

"Glad to be aboard." said Izuku.

"It seems we're very lucky to have you." said Kendo, "So you're in. Now we need to know what to call you. Secrecy keeps us alive. Code names are a part of that. So what's yours?"

Izuku still wasn't too big on codenames, though.

"I don't want a codename." he said.

"Code names aren't optional. All agents need to keep their identities a secret to protect themselves and those close to them." Kendo said sternly.

"I... really don't want to choose." Izuku said.

"Suit yourself. We'll call you Wanderer. Seems fitting." said Kendo.

"🎵They all him the Wanderer. Yeah, the Wanderer. He roams around and round and round and round and round and round and round and round.🎶" Luke sang.

"Classic song." said All Might.

"I know, right? It was one of my grandfather's favorites." said Luke.

"Your first official order is to deliver Doctor Carrington's prototype and see if he can use another pair of hands. But first, it's time to meet the rest of the gang." said Kendo.

Kendo headed back into the Railroad base. Izuku was about to as well, but first he decided to talk to Kaminari.

"Welcome to the family. We're a colorful and arguably insane bunch, but you're stuck with us now. Speaking of which, if you don't mind a... sidekick, let's keep a good thing going and travel together some more." Kaminari said.

"Don't they need you here?" asked Izuku.

"My job's mainly intel. So the more places I go the better I'm doing it. And you're just one big beautiful distraction. Plenty of opportunities to learn secrets moving around in your shadow." said Kaminari.

"Let's go, then." said Izuku.

"I'm all ready to go." said Kaminari.

Izuku sent Dogmeat back to the Red Rocket Truck Stop, then he and Kaminari entered the Railroad HQ. Kaminari also somehow already changed clothes when they entered.

"This is it. It may lack the amenities of the Switchboard. But it's safe, and we've taken precautions to not be taken by surprise again. Things are chaotic right now, so there's plenty for you to do." said Kendo as they went deeper into the base.

A number of Railroad agents all went to the center of the room to see Izuku, Kendo, and Kaminari.

"Listen up, everyone. This... is the Wanderer. He did the Switchboard op with Deacon. He's a full agent effective immediately. I'm counting on each of you to show him the ropes. Feel free to welcome him aboard. That is all." said Kendo to the other agents.

Izuku talked to some of the other Railroad agents, then he talked to Miruko.

"Hey, you. You the new heavy? Wanderer, right?" said Miruko.

"What do you mean?" Izuku asked.

"A heavy. Someone able to take whatever shit the Institute and Commonwealth dishes out and come back for more. So the Switchboard was crawling with bad guys. Mines and shit, too. Any of that true? Or was Deacon bullshitting me again?" Miruko asked.

"I didn't do it alone. But yeah, that's about the size of it." said Izuku.

"That's hardcore. How'd you take down the old HQ? Please tell me you didn't go along with Deacon's 'in and out like a ghost' crap." Miruko said.

"With a whole lot of bullets and a whole lot of blood. Fortunately, the blood wasn't mine." answered Izuku.

"That's how you do it. Well, welcome to the party. After what happened with Tommy Whispers, we need another tough son-of-a-bitch that can get shit done." said Miruko.

"Tommy Whispers was the previous owner of The Deliverer." Luke explained.

"Thanks for inviting me." said Izuku.

"We should, I don't know. Bake a cake. That's what you do, right?" said Miruko.

"The fuck is the other me talking about?" said Miruko.

"They call me Glory. The angel of death. The ass-kicking poster child of a liberated synth." said Miruko.

"So you're a synth?" Izuku asked.

"That's what the 'Made in the Institute' stamp on my ass says." said Miruko in annoyance.

"I have a lot of questions. About synths. About the Institute. Would you be willing to answer few?" Izuku asked wanting to know as much about the Institute as possible before he went there.

"If I have to. I know a whole lot less than you'd think. Mainly, I did surface detail. Combing over ruins and shit for salvage. The few times I was in the Institute proper all I was to them was their thinking, feeling hammer." Miruko explained.

"What's the Institute like?" Izuku asked.

"Clean. Lots of machines. But I really only saw a few rooms of it - the barracks and where I worked. I helped those assholes make more synths. 'Synth Development' is what they called it." explained Miruko.

"I can't image what that was like." Izuku said in a sorry voice.

"Sometimes... I wish I could forget. No matter what Dez and the others say, synths ain't human. We're assembled bone by bone. Muscle by muscle. I've seen it." said Miruko.

The audience couldn't help but feel more sympathy for this universe's Miruko and the other Gen 3 synths.

"I'm gonna hit the range. I need to shoot something. Now." said Miruko before walking away.

"Now we're gonna fast forward to when Izuku traveled back to Shishida with the code from the courser chip." said Luke.

Izuku went back to the Truck Stop, left Kaminari there, and headed back to Shishida's cave with Dogmeat.

"Wasn't sure I'd see you again. You managed to get what you need?" Shishida asked.

"I have the code." said Izuku.

"Suppose I shouldn't be surprised. You did get rid of Bakugo, after all. Not too much of a leap to take down a courser. How'd you manage to get it decoded?" Shishida asked.

Izuku knew the Railroad wanted to keep a low profile, so he didn't give Shishida the full details.

"I've made some friends in the Commonwealth." Izuku answered.

"Better you than me. Face like this, I'm not gonna make too many friends." said Shishida.

"Your face is fine, bro." Tetsutetsu told Shishida.

"You're not the only one who's been busy. I did the best I could, from memory and things I've overheard through the years. Came up with some schematics for you. Wasn't easy; these hands are ridiculous. Fine motor skills have gone to shit. Here's the simple explanation: you need to build a device that will hijack the signal the Institute uses to teleport coursers, and send you instead. You know the craziest part of the design? That classical music station... that's the carrier signal for the relay. All the data's on harmonic frequencies... You've been hearing it all along." Shishida explained.

"Forgot to show it, but there's another radio station in the Commonwealth that plays classical music. The signal is coming from the Institute." said Luke.

"I want to be clear that this isn't my area of expertise. I was BioScience, not Engineering or Advanced Systems or anything." said Shishida.

"BioScience? Advanced Systems?" Izuku said.

"Divisions within the Institute. Specialized groups working on various projects. It'll make sense later. But if you can build this device, and make use of that code, you should be able to override the signal from the Institute's relay. Can you? I mean, can you build it? You have people that can help you? This is a lot for one person, even you." said Shishida.

"I got it covered." Izuku reassured.

"Good, good. Because you've gotta make it in there. For both our sakes. And don't you forget our agreement. I've helped you as best as I can. If you make it in there, you find that serum. It's my only hope for ever being... normal. So you find it." said Shishida, "Now go on, take these and get to work. You do whatever it takes, call on whoever you know to help you."

Izuku left the cave and headed back to the Red Rocket Truck Stop.

"Now, there are four different endings to Fallout 4. The Minutemen ending, the Railroad ending, the Brotherhood of Steel ending, and the Institute ending. This Izuku's gonna be doing the Minutemen ending, so he's about to talk to Iida for help on building the teleporter." Luke explained.

"Why in the world would Deku side with the Institute? They killed me and kidnapped Toshi." said Ochako.

"You'll have to wait and see." said Luke.

Izuku and Dogmeat arrived back at the Truck Stop and walked over to Iida.

"What do you need, General?" Iida asked.

"I have plans here to build a Signal Interceptor that can get me inside the Institute." Izuku explained.

"The Institute? Why in the world would you want to mess around with them?" Iida asked.

"They kidnapped my son." Izuku answered.

"Damn... that's some bad business, even for them. We'll give you whatever help we can, don't worry about that. Now, assuming you could build this thing, what exactly does it do?" asked Iida.

"The Institute uses teleportation to get in and out. This machine can hijack their signal and send me instead." explained Izuku.

"Teleportation? For real? Wow. That would explain a lot about how the Institute manages to operate. If anyone can make heads or tails of those plans, it'd be Maijima. I haven't found anything yet that he couldn't fix." said Iida.

After that, Izuku and Dogmeat walked over to Sanctuary and approached Power Loader.

"Tenya thought you might be able to figure out these plans for me." said Izuku.

"Sure thing. Let's see what you've got." said Power Loader.

"Do you think you can build this?" Izuku asked as he handed Power Loader the blueprints.

"Wow, what a mess... hmm, looks like... encrypted RF transmissions, ok, so that gets routed through... what the hell?" Power Loader said as he looked at the blueprints and his eyes widened, "Teleportation? This is some crazy shit. You sure it's for real?"

"It's real. I got it from an ex-Institute scientist." said Izuku.

"Seriously? I didn't know you could be an ex-Institute anything and still be breathing. Anyway. The eggheads never think about the nuts 'n bolts of actually making something work, but... looks like it's all here. Yeah. I'm going to need some time to study this thing. The handwriting is pretty hard to make out. But you can get started on what he calls a 'Stabilized Reflector Platform'. It'll need some pretty high-grade metals, but it's basically not that different than the lining of a jet engine or something like that." said Power Loader.

"Can you give me a list of what I'll need to build this platform?" Izuku asked.

"Yeah, sure." said Power Loader as he made Izuku a list and handed it to him, "Here's a list of what you'll need for the first piece. I'm pretty sure we've got all that at Sanctuary, if you want to build it there. While you're working on that, I'll get busy figuring out how to actually build the rest of this thing. Keep in mind - I can already see this is going to take a crazy amount of juice. Like... if you had a spare nuclear reactor handy, we could probably use it. And it's going to be big. So find a nice open building site, with lots of power available."

Izuku was able to build the platform in the spot where a destroyed house once was, then he went back to Power Loader.

"How's it going? Did you find a good spot to build your Signal Interceptor?" Power Loader asked him.

"There's a giant metal pizza sitting on the ground now, so... Yeah." said Izuku.

"I was just asking. No need for snide remarks. I think I've got the rest of this contraption figured out. Here's a list of three things that may be harder to find. I think I'll be able to pull together everything else we're going to need. I'll meet you over at the building site, and we'll see if we can actually make this thing work." Power Loader said.

"Thanks, Maijima. I'll get right on this." said Izuku.

"Good deal. One thing to keep in mind while you're building this - it all needs to be wired together so all the piers can talk to each other. I'll see you over at the building site. Good luck." said Power Loader.

While Izuku was working on the Signal Interceptor, he decided he needed more allies. He decided to head back to the Cambridge Police Station with Dogmeat and talk to Paladin Kirishima and his team. When they arrived at the police station, there were more Brotherhood soldiers there now. It was also raining now.

"Look at these burn marks. They must've spent a whole case of ammo holding this site." said one Brotherhood soldier.

"Suppose that means we missed all the fun. No one's going to move on this place now that the Prydwen's in town." said a Brotherhood soldier who was in power armor.

Izuku tried to talk to the two Brotherhood soldiers, but they were complete dicks to him and said "If you aren't Brotherhood, you're nothing."

"What a bunch of dicks. The Brotherhood of Steel is so not manly. I can't believe I'm a part of them in this universe." said Kirishima.

Izuku and Dogmeat entered the police station.

"Paladin Kirishima. Glad to see you alive and well, sir." said Yui.

"Are we in luck, sir?" asked Awase.

"Mission accomplished, we have the transmitter." said Kirishima.

"Finally, some good news for a change. Nice work, sir." said Awase.

"I didn't do it alone. Had some help from our new friend. I've offered him a place on our team, but I'm not sure he's willing to accept. In the meantime, he's welcome to take shelter here as long as he doesn't get in our way." said Kirishima.

"Paladin Kirishima?" Izuku said.

"There's still a place for you in the Brotherhood... if you want it." Kirishima said to him.

Izuku decided it couldn't hurt to have even more allies.

"I'd be honored to join." said Izuku.

"Then that settles it. Kodai, Awase, it's time to welcome our newest recruit to the Brotherhood. He shows a lot of promise, and with the proper guidance, I think he has the potential of becoming one of the best." said Kirishima.

"Thanks, I promise not to let you down." said Izuku.

"You don't have to prove anything else to me. Getting that transmitter was enough." said Yui.

"So you decided to stay, huh? I expected you to take your payment and run." said Awase.

"Let's just hug this out and get it over with. What do you say?" Izuku said sarcastically.

"You can play it however you want, tough guy. It's going to take a lot more than completing one mission to impress me." said Awase.

"Awase, that's enough. Like it or not, you're going to have to learn to work together." said Kirishima before turning his attention to Izuku, "And you, you need to understand what it means to be part of the Brotherhood. We're not soldiers of fortune. We're an army and we've dedicated our lives to uphold a strict code of ethics. If you intend to stay within our ranks, you need to obey our tenets without question."

"Don't worry. I've spent time in the military." said Izuku.

"Perfect. Then there's no need to give you a long lecture, so I'll get right to the point. I only ask for two things from anyone under my command. Honesty and respect. You fall in line, you stay in line. I give you an order, and you follow it. It's as simple as that." said Kirishima, "There's one last order of business I wanted to get out of the way. I'm going to recommend you to awarded the rank of Knight. Now, nothing's official until you speak to Elder Tetsutetsu, but I wanted you to be the first to know." said Kirishima.

"Elder Tetsutetsu? Is Tetsu an old man in this or something?" asked Kendo.

"Keep watching and you'll see." said Luke.

"Fair enough." said Izuku.

"Outstanding, soldier." said Kirishika.

"Ad Victoriam, Knight." said Yui.

"He doesn't even know what that means, Kodai." said Awase.

"Ad Victoriam means To Victory. In our eyes, defeat is unacceptable because we're fighting for the future of mankind. Our rallying cry is more powerful than any weapon you could ever carry. Remember that." Kirishima explained, "Now, I've received word that we're both to report to the Prydwen. However, if you want to run a few ops for Scribe Kodai or Knight Awase first, they could certainly use your assistance. I'll leave the choice up to you. Let me know when you're ready to mount up."

Izuku talked to Awase and Yui and got some assignments from them, then he went back to Kirishima.

"Are you ready to head up to the ship?" Kirishima asked.

"Why did the Brotherhood send it here in the first place?" asked Izuku.

"I'm not sure, but I think it might have something to do with the data on the Commonwealth my team gathered before it arrived. We call our ship The Prydwen. She's loaded with enough troops and supplies to mount a major offensive. If she's here, Elder Tetsutetsu's here. And that means we're going to war." said Kirishima.

"Who's Elder Tetsutetsu?" Izuku asked.

"Tetsutetsu is the commander of this division of the Brotherhood of Steel. He's the model of what every Brotherhood soldier hopes to become. If we're going to war, I can promise you that he'll be leading the charge." explained Kirishima.

"Tetsutetsu's the leader of the Eastern Brotherhood and is the last living descendant of the Brotherhood's founder from the pre-war era." explained Luke.

"I get it. My hero name's Reel STEEL and I'm the leader of the Brotherhood of STEEL." said Tetsutetsu.

"That being said, you're about to get to know the Prydwen up close and personal. I've received orders that were both to report to her immediately. Follow me up to the roof of the police station... we're going for a little ride." said Kirishima.

Izuku, Kirishima, and Dogmeat went up the roof of the police station and got inside a vertibird that was there. Izuku manned the minigun that was attached to the vehicle.

"That minigun in front of you is loaded and ready to fire." said Kirishima as they took off, "If you spot anything hostile, during the flight, I suggest you put it to good use. Make sure you properly identify your targets before you start shooting. We don't want to have any mishaps and fire on the locals."

They took off and headed towards the Prydwen.

"The Commonwealth looks different from up here, doesn't it? It never ceases to amaze me how drastically your perception of the battlefield changes from the air." said Kirishima as they flew near the CIT ruins, "We're going to need that edge when we take on the Institute. They've already proven that they're technologically superior, which means there's no telling what types of weapons they have in their arsenal. Hopefully, our air superiority and tactical know how will make the difference. Now all we have to do is find them... and I'm betting that Elder Tetsutestu will have a plan already in place by the time we arrive."

They continued making their way towards the Institute.

"I wish everyone down there believed in our cause, but they've been blinded by rumors and misinformation. They don't realize that the Brotherhood of Steel is the Commonwealth's last hope for survival. Every man, woman, and child below is in mortal danger. If we fail, it's only a matter of time before the enemy overwhelms the population. Cleansing the Commonwealth is our duty and I will gladly spill my own blood if it ensures our victory." said Kirishima.

"I wouldn't say the Brotherhood of Steel is the Commonwealth's LAST hope for survival. The Minutemen also seem like a good bet." said Ochako.

"They're way better than the Brotherhood. Just wait until you see what happens when they get to the Prydwen." said Luke.

They continued flying.

"We're on final approach to the airport. The Prydwen should be coming into view just up ahead. We'll be meeting Lancer-Captain Kaibara on the Flight Deck. Just stick close to me and answer all his questions." said Kirishima.

They flew past some historic sights. Bunker Hill and even the U.S.S. Constitution... which was on top of a building.

"Why is there a boat on top of a building?" asked Kaminari.

"A story for another day." said Luke.

They then arrived at the Boston Airport, which had the Prydwen docked above it.

"Is that Logan Airport? It's a lot smaller in this universe." said All Might.

"Yeah, and it's also just called Boston Airport in this." said Luke.

"There she is. It's been far too long since I've been aboard." said Kirishima as they got closer to the Prydwen, "Alright, soldier, this is the moment where everything changes. I hope you're ready."

The vertibird docked with the Prydwen and Izuku, Dogmeat, and Kirishima hopped out and onto the flight deck where an adult Kaibara was there waiting for them in some kind of pilot uniform. He also had a mustache.

"Permission to come aboard, sir?" Kirishima asked Kaibara.

"Permission granted and welcome back, Paladin." said Kaibara as he put his fist onto his chest as a salute, "Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on a successful mission. And is this our new recruit?"

"Yes, sir. I've field promoted him to Initiate and I'd like to sponsor his entry into our rankings personally." said Kirishima.

"Yes, we've read your reports. You'll be pleased to know that Elder Tetsutetsu's approved your request, and placed the recruit in your charge." said Kaibara.

"And my current orders?" asked Kirishima.

"You are to remain on the Prydwen and await further instructions." said Kaibara.

"Very good, sir. Ad Victorium, Captain." said Kirishima.

"Ad Victorium, Paladin." said Kaibara as he once again did the salute with his fist.

Kirishima left and Kaibara looked Izuku up and down.

"So, you're the one Paladin Kirishima has taken under his wing. Hmph. You don't look much like a soldier to me." Kaibara said.

"Are most of the Brotherhood people gonna be complete assholes to Deku?" asked Bakugo.

"Actually, pretty soon it's gonna be the other way around." said Luke.

"Looks can be deceiving." Izuku said.

"Which is precisely why I personally insist on scrutinizing every recruit who boards this vessel." said Kaibara, "I've read Paladin Kirshima's reports. He seems to think you'll make a fine addition to the Brotherhood. You might expect an endorsement like that to grant you a great deal of latitude with us, but let me make one thing clear. The Brotherhood has traveled to the Commonwealth with a specific goal in mind. As the captain of this vessel, I won't allow anyone to jeopardize our mission no matter how valuable they think the are. Understood?"

"What exactly is your mission here?" asked Izuku.

"I'm not at liberty to say. Elder Tetsutetsu will be addressing the crew shortly, and I'm certain all of your questions will be answered. Now, was there anything else, or was everything I said understood?" asked Kaibara.

"Not even a hint. Come on, I deserve it." said Izuku.

"Look, all that I can tell you is that we're here directly in response to the data that Kirishima's recon team provided us. Beyond that, you'll just have to wait until Elder Tetsutestu addresses the crew. Now dispense with the questions. It's time to get to work, understood? That's all for now, soldier." said Kaibara, "Your orders are to proceed to the Command Deck for the address, after which Elder Tetsutetsu wishes to have a word with you. If you have any questions, ask me now. Otherwise, you're dismissed."

"Can you tell me anything about Elder Tetsutetsu?" Izuku asked.

"Elder Tetsutetsu is the supreme commander of the Brotherhood. Without his tenacity and his vision, we'd still be a small group of complacent stragglers occupying the Citadel in the Capital Wasteland. In a mere decade, he's grown the Brotherhood of Steel into a major military force. He's an inspiration to us all." explained Kaibara, "Is there anything else?"

"Where can I get power armor?" Izuku asked.

"Only Knights are allowed to wear Brotherhood power armor. And you're no Knight. Not yet. Until Elder Tetsutetsu grants you that title, you'll have to make do with what you've got." Kaibara said sternly, "Anything else?"

"What are my orders?" asked Izuku.

"Your orders are to proceed to Elder Tetsutetsu's address, after which he wishes to speak with you." said Kaibara, "Anything else?"

"I don't have any questions." said Izuku.

"Then I suggest you head over to the Command Deck immediately. Dismissed, Initiate." said Kaibara.

Izuku and Dogmeat went inside the Prydwen and to see an adult Tetsutetsu standing there in front of several other Brotherhood members. Tetsutetsu had a beard and a huge scar stitch across his right cheek.

"Cool scar, bro!" Kirishima said to his friend.

"Cool coat, too." said Kendo.

Izuku and Dogmeat stood in the back as Tetsutetsu began giving his speech.

"Brothers and Sisters, the road behind has been long and fraught with difficulty. Each and every one of you has surpassed my expectations by rapidly facilitating our arrival in the Commonwealth. You have accomplished this amazing feat without a hint or purpose or direction, and most impressively... without question. Now that the ship is in position, it is time to reveal our purpose and our mission." Tetsutetsu said as he looked out the window before turning back to face them all.

"Get ready to hear some serious bigot speech." said Luke.

"Beneath the Commonwealth there is a cancer known as the Institute. A malignant growth that needs to be cut before it infects the surface. They are experimenting with dangerous technologies that could prove to be the world's undoing for the second time in recent history. The Institute scientists have created a weapon that transcends the destructive nature of the atom bomb. They call their creation the synth, a robotic abomination of technology that is free-thinking and masquerade as a human being. This notion that a machine could be granted free will is not only offensive, but horribly dangerous. And like the atom, if it isn't harnessed properly, it has the potential of rendering us extinct as a species. I am not prepared to allow the Institute to continue this line of experimentation. Therefore, the Institute and their synths are considered enemies of the Brotherhood of Steel, and should be dealt with swiftly and mercilessly. This campaign will be costly and many lives will be lost. Be in the end, we will be saving humankind from its worst enemy... itself. Ad Victorium!" Tetsutetsu shouted as he did the fist salute.

"Ad Victorium!" everyone in the room, minus Izuku, shouted as they also did the fist salute.

The audience sat there in absolute horror and disgust.

"I seriously want to kill all synths just because I think they're evil? That's so not manly!" said Tetsutestu.

"Yeah, you're basically Hitler in this. Whenever I play Fallout 4, I usually kill the character you're supposed to be in that game, then I wipe out the rest of the Brotherhood." said Luke.

The Brotherhood members left the room, leaving Izuku and Dogmeat alone with Tetsutetsu.

'What the hell have I gotten myself into?' Izuku said in his head.

"Exactly. In fact, didn't I say at the start of this universe that my great great grandfather fought on America's side during World War II? He fought Nazis and now my alternate self basically just joined the same thing." said Izuku.

"Don't worry, all this Izuku did was kill some super mutants and feral ghouls for the Brotherhood, as well as collected some tech, documents, and blood samples for them for money. I don't know if he ever killed Tetsutestu and the Brotherhood like I usually do, because I'm waiting for the Fallout TV to come out that's set nine years after the events of Fallout 4 and I don't want it to be spoiled for me." said Luke.

Izuku then approached Tetsutetsu.

"I care about them, you know. The people of the Commonwealth." said Tetsutetsu.

"Bullshit! You only care about the humans, you fucking bigot!" Bakugo shouted at the screen.

"If you cared about them, you'd leave them to their own devices." said Izuku.

"Leaving them to their own devices is what reduced this metropolis to ruins in the first place. I'm a bit surprised you don't realize that by now." said Tetsutetsu.

"You're not gonna convince me you're right." said Izuku with a pissed off look.

"Yet despite that, Paladin Kirishima still feels you'd be an asset to the Brotherhood. Seeing as how he's one of my most respected field officers, you couldn't get a better recommendation. Therefore, from this moment forward, I'm granting you the rank of Knight." said Tetsutetsu.

"A knight? What is this, the Dark Ages?" Izuku joked.

"Judging by the state of the world, it wouldn't be a stretch so say we're living in that era again." said Tetsutetsu, "In any event, once you've finished becoming familiar with the Prydwen and my staff, report to the Flight Deck for your new orders. Welcome aboard the Prydwen, soldier. Make us proud."

Izuku rolled his eyes as he and Dogmeat went to the upper floor to meet with Kirishima, who was in the mess hall.

"There you are. How did it go with Elder Tetsutetsu?" Kirishima asked.

"He sounds pretty... delusional to me. You don't actually buy everything he's saying, do you?" said Izuku.

"You shouldn't judge Tetsutetsu on his words alone. His actions prove his sincerity. I just hope you appreciate how much of a chance I'm taking bringing you into the fold this quickly. Not to put too fine a point on it, but if you screw up... we go down together." said Kirishima.

"So what's all this about you being my sponsor?" asked Izuku.

"Elder Tetsutetsu is understandably particular when it comes to new recruit. He believes in order to keep the Brotherhood strong, we have to bond as brothers." said Kirishima.

"It's funny because in this universe Kirishima is actually a synth. He doesn't know he's a synth and neither does anyone else, but the only way the player character can find out Kirishima is a synth is if they kill him and find a synth component in his inventory, or if they do the Brotherhood storyline where the entire Brotherhood finds out. And when they do, Tetsutestu orders the player to kill Kirishima or he'll do it himself. So much for we have to bond as brothers. If the player has a high enough charisma level then they can persuade Tetsutetsu to let Kirishima live, but Kirishima is stripped of his rank and title in the Brotherhood and declared dead. And if any other Brotherhood members see Kirishima, they'll try to kill him on sight." explained Luke.

"THAT'S SO NOT MANLY!!!" shouted Tetsutetsu.

"One of the many reasons why the Brotherhood in Fallout 4 are a bunch of bigots. And yet so many Brotherhood fanboys I encounter on Reddit defend them with their lives." said Luke in annoyance.

"As your sponsor, it's my duty to travel with you throughout the Commonwealth to ensure that our ideals are being observed. That's why I'm so concerned about your performance in the field." said Kirishima.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful." said Izuku.

"Good, because we've got a lot of work ahead of us and I don't want anything slowing us down. Now, I know you're eager to hop into a suit of power armor and take the fight to the Institute, but first things first. In order to be an effective part of the team, you need to learn your way around this ship and get to know its crew. Since I've been assigned as your sponsor, I'd recommend taking me along with you." Kirishima suggested.

"Do you need to come with me now?" asked Izuku.

"It might help if I tag along with you." said Kirishima, "On the other hand, you might want to make your first impression without a Paladin standing over your shoulder. It's up to you."

Izuku didn't really give a shit.

"Sounds good, let's go." he said.

"Outstanding." said Kirishima.

Izuku sent Dogmeat back to the Red Rocket Truck Stop, then he and Kirishima went around the Prydwen.

"I'm just gonna skip to the part where Izuku's done meeting everyone and heads back to Tetsutetsu." said Luke.

Izuku and Kirshima went back outside to the flight deck. Izuku was wearing Brotherhood power armor bur didn't have the helmet. They went to the back of the flight deck where Tetsutetsu was.

"Now that you've familiarized yourself with the Prydwen's crew, are you ready for your next assignment, brother?" asked Tetsutetsu.

"What sort of assignment are we talking about?" Izuku asked.

"The kind of assignment where all the training you've done finally begins to pay off. Let's get right to it, shall we? Take a look over there." said Tetsutesu.

The camera panned over to a nearby military base.

"That's Fort Strong, and it's infested with super mutants. Having those aberrations of nature close enough to smell is making me sick to my stomach. To make matters worse, they're sitting on a massive stockpile of fat man shells we could use in our campaign. I want you to head over there, wipe out everything that moves, and secure that stockpile. Understood?" Tetsutetsu said.

"I really am rocking the whole fascist vibe, aren't I?" said Tetsutetsu.

"Oh, yeah. And fun fact: you're only 20 years old in this. You have so much anger and hate in you that you've rapidly aged." said Luke.

"This seems like a waste of time." said Izuku.

"Eager to take the fight to the Institute? Good. Save that for later. Those abominations are playing nursemaid to a huge nuclear arsenal. If we leave Fort Strong unchecked, we have a potential security threat on our hands." said Tetsutestu.

"These super mutants are a threat to the security of the airport. We have to deal with them first." said Kirishima.

"Now, we have a vertibird on standby, fully armed and ready to depart. Use it to carry our message to Fort Strong and wipe those dirty mutants from the face of the Earth. Dismissed." said Tetsutetsu as he did the fist salute again.

But Izuku decided to ignore Tetsutetsu's orders and headed back to the Red Rocker Truck Stop with Kirishima instead. He left Kirishima and his Brotherhood power armor there, then he and Dogmeat continued to work on the Signal Interceptor in Sanctuary.

During this time, he did a few other quests, minus the ones for the Brotherhood, of course. He did a quest for the Railroad with Kaminari to help a scared synth, he did some recon work for Sero, he even got Mina as a companion from a raider fight club called The Combat Zone.

"In this universe, Mina is Irish and addicted to chems." said Luke.

We also see him recruiting a tailless Ojiro from a place in Goodneighbor called The Third Rail.

"Ojiro is a mercenary who Izuku hired." Luke explained.

Then we see Izuku going to a vault called Vault 81 and getting a Miss Nanny robot as a companion.

"That robot is Momo. She's a female nurse version of a Mr. Handy called a Miss Nanny and she has a French accent in this. Izuku went to Vault 81 and had to stop a pandemic from breaking out and save a little boy. As for Momo? She later gets her conscious transferred into the body of a Gen 3 synth who died that was donated by tie Railroad. The Gen 3 synth body she ends up in looks just like the Momo you all know." explained Luke.

"Are there any companions left who I haven't got?" Izuku asked.

"There's also Sato, who's a super mutant named Strong, you get Sero as a companion eventually, and in the game the player can get the character who Shinso is as a companion, but you don't in this. Then there's the DLC companions, but that's a story for another day." Luke answered.

Izuku finally had all the parts he needed to build the Signal Interceptor. He set up a shit ton of generators to power it, then he walked over to Power Loader, who was using a console to operate the who thing.

"Everything looks good on my end. You ready to see if this thing actually works?" Power Loader asked.

"Let's do this." said Izuku.

"You sure? ... Ok. Your part is simple. Just step on the platform." said Power Loader.

"I'll start scanning for an Institute signal to lock on to, then... I fire her up and we see what happens." said Power Loader.

Izuku stood on the center of the platform underneath the blue light above him.

"Ok, hold reaaal still. Don't want any corruption of the molecular beam." said Power Loader before walking over to Izuku, "By the way, I figured this was a golden opportunity to find out as much as we can about the Institute and what they're up to. Now, this- this holotape's all set with a program that will scan their network and download anything it finds."

Power Loader tossed Izuku the holotape, but then a tube burst loose from the teleporter and started spraying steam everywhere.

"That's not good." said Iida.

"Uh, oh! Uh. We better hurry. Don't worry about that tubing wiggling around. It's, uh... just there for decoration." said Power Loader as he ran back to the console, "Ok. Scanning for the Institute signal. Tracking RF. And... got it! Hold on to your butt!"

Izuku closed his eyes as he braced himself. There was a flash of bright light. And then...

The screen went black.

"Luke, why did you stop it?! We were just about to see Deku get to the Institute!" said Ochako.

"I'll save that for another time. Now for some other stuff." Luke said.

First Deku-Verse chapter of the New Year. Thx for reading. And yes. I really hate the Brotherhood of Steel. I also intend to wrap the Fallout universe up before April 12 when the Fallout TV show comes out on Amazon Prime.
