—Reyes Hideout—
After a few hours of travelling, they finally reached Reyes's hideout in Westchester. The group settled in nicely, perfectly balancing the three bedrooms they had. Reyes has gotten it from his businesses before he became what he is today.
Today was also a special day. Tony Stark announced the Defenders as a threat therefore making it unable for them to go back to New York. The whole police force is scared of four enhanced individuals along with a serial killer who is a master in martial arts. It was a good place to hide.
But all Elektra could think about was Matt. Kilgrave must have taken him somewhere safe especially since the Avengers treat him as the world's greatest threat. Everyone has the time to blame Murdock but they don't have knowledge of the man pulling the strings from behind.
"Hey. How are you? It's been a while since we met." Luke calmly said to not startle Elektra. "I know you've been through a lot and I thought we could get to know each other."
"I bet Matthew has spoken a lot about me." Elektra chuckled while laying on the couch, "He is confused. I could tell. That's why I left him with his mother. I thought he could work things out with her but no. Jones got in the way and he has fallen for it."
"What do you mean?" Luke asked and looked around to make sure nobody was listening.
"Jessica gets a lot of attention from Murdock and Matthew is the one who suffers. He has less time for actual lawyer work and I'm sure Jessica doesn't give a crap. She gets a lot of money from Hogarth."
"So you're saying that she should not spend time with Murdock anymore?"
"I'm saying that he should man up. It's not always about her. It's his story. He needs to start making his own discussions."
"It's not about who?" Jessica entered the conversation after making some coffee, "Reyes and Rand are out on a jog."
"It's not about Stark." Luke lied, "He always makes a story where he's in the center of it even though it's someone else. He wants attention."
"Ok. I don't remember Stark's attitude being like that."
"It's Christmas. He's going to be putting up the Avengers logo on the new tower." Luke chuckled in amusement, "See. Story."
Jessica went back to her room to continue drinking coffee and watching some TV. Luke and Elektra continued with their conversation.
"Should I tell her like right now?" Luke asked.
"No. Give us time. Tell it to Matthew so he could have a long conversation with her about what they are." Elektra sighed, "It's not about sleeping with the same person every night."
"How do you know they sleep every night? You stalk them."
"I could tell by how she moves. She obviously has slept with him. Many, many times." Elektra smiled.
"And you are in no way jealous or upset that Matt left you."
"It was his decision to not come to me in Europe. It was a smart move, honestly. He saved himself a little bit of money and some time with his mom."
"Well, I'll go make some pancakes for when Robbie and Danny come back. Just wait for a good movie."
"Can it be made of banana?"
—Outside—
Danny and Robbie sat beside a wooden tree to catch their breath for a moment. They've been running for forty-five minutes straight without having a water break. This affects Danny's Iron Fist but does almost nothing to the Ghost Rider.
They've been lucky. No one has noticed them yet which shows that they were using some good disguises. Robbie only had to place his hoodie up while Danny had to wear a cap.
"We're running from nothing now. We're just running to keep our bodies healthy." Danny joked.
"Look at that. A couple of cars passed us and pretended like we were dead meat. Just passed without taking a stop to take a look."
"That's good. Thanks for letting us use your hideout. It's good. And comfortable if you ask me."
"Business can win you friendships." Robbie chuckled, "I have five more places just like that."
"Running a company can derail your plans for something. Even building a old-school house."
"Just make Colleen do it. She is capable to do it. Only problem will be who will take care of the Dojo for now on. I mean maybe Elektra."
"You do have a point." Danny exhaled and looked around, "I'll consider that."
They looked at the sky which started to turn darker every second. Robbie remembered looking at the weather today and it was going to be quite sunny. Danny had a smart watch with him and saw the forecast predicated that it was going to be sunny. They knew something was wrong when lightning started appearing.
"What the hell is going on?" Robbie asked as they both stood up to watch the storm get closer to them. "It was supposed to be sunny."
"It is sunny. The only problem is that we're in Westchester. Home of the X-Men."
In the woods, something was moving. The storm was getting very close to them and they had to start running. Suddenly voices started speaking in their head. Robbie turned into Ghost Rider to have no connection with the real world. Bobby appeared on front of them and made a ice barricade to slow them down. Storm and Beast came from behind and they were outnumbered.
"Is he still in your head?" Robbie asked, looking at Hank and Storm. "I'll go for Ororo and McCoy."
"And I'll go for Drake. I got you." Danny said, using the Iron Fist to turn the ice barricade into pieces.
Robbie swung his chain around which made Storm and Hank stay away from him. Storm had burns on her arms for being to close to a attack. Hank had a full burn on his right thigh after the chain managed to wrap around it.
"Robbie. We don't want to do this. We can help you hide away from the Avengers." Storm said.
"Help me? You can't. Danny and I are outlaws waiting to be captured." Robbie slashed his chain between them.
"Watch out!" Danny shouted, using the Iron Fist to send Hank twenty feet away.
"Behind you!" Robbie wrapped his chain around Bobby's neck, making him unable to do anything. Storm slowly approached Robbie, "One more step and I'll tighten my grip to turn his head into a ice sculpture."
"I would love to see that." Erik chuckled as he approached the group.
Robbie tried to tighten the grip of his chain but he couldn't. It started floating in the air. He glanced at Erik who was using his hands to lift it up.
"Interesting. The noble weapon for a creature as strong as the Ghost Rider. I like it."
"What's happening, Robbie? Aren't you supposed to be controlling that?"
"I'm not." Robbie muttered, following what Erik is doing.
"Erik. Why did you come here. I told you earlier. We had this under control." Storm repeated.
"Bobby's head was about to be turned into a display. Why do you think I showed up?" Erik smiled.
"You're an ass." Hank muttered.
"I'm your teacher, Hank. Don't be so rude."
Bobby and Hank brought Robbie and Danny into the jet. Erik stayed at the back because he didn't like airplanes. Storm and Hank were the experienced ones. Danny has flown in many airplanes. That's why his parents aren't there with him. For Robbie, he may have ridden with Daisy but he couldn't remember anymore.
They quietly landed in the basketball court of the X-Mansion and exited quickly. Storm, Bobby and Hank checked on the Professor for a moment.
"I've been accused of many crimes over my existence." Erik explained to the two of them, "But I always fought. Fought for my rights. Fought for my kind. Most importantly, I fought for myself."
"And how did you stop fighting for yourself."
"I didn't. I keep on fighting because that's who I am today. You just have to learn how to control it." Erik smiled, walking of the plane.
Charles Xavier rolled his way into the jet to look at Danny and Robbie. They were very different from others but their appearance blends in with common people.
"I know who you two are. Wanted people by the Avengers. It's hard. I've been there before." Charles said.
"We have to look over three more people, Professor. We are all wanted. And this school is great and I would hate it if the Avengers stormed in here begging for answers."
"That won't happen. I assure you. I want you to know that we are not with the Avengers. We trust you. We trust Matt Murdock." Charles paused to look at their excited faces, "I have a machine inside their, called Cerebro. It can access everyone's brain in the planet."
"Why won't you use that on Kilgrave? This could be over if you use it."
"I'm afraid that if he finds out that someone is in his head, he will command himself. Thus, commanding me."
"Alright. We'll go for him. We just need to know the coordinates."
"And you need the help of the X-Men too." Charles said which made them sigh, "I'll get to work right now."
