Chapter 1: A Little Drink

Jessica took another sip of Macallan's and slid the bottle over to Matt. He chuckled, aware of her liking for the taste. She shrugged and grabbed the bottle away from him.

"When you asked 'if I had free time,' I thought you meant something else." He smiled.

"Not all the girls you meet will end up in bed with you." She smiled.

He knew that he was blind- it was so natural to him, but he wanted to see her smile. How beautiful she was. Looks like all he can do was imagine. What she would look like. He wanted to touch her face but she would just push him away because it was weird. And it is weird.

"What are you thinking now?" She asked, drinking half of her glass and pouring more into it.

"Remember when I told you that you were beautiful, did you believe me?" He asked.

"Depends on how you picture me." She chuckled.

--Few Months Later--

Matt was standing on top of the rooftop and looking down into the streets of Hell's Kitchen. He used his hearing to sense any criminal activity happening in the area. He couldn't sense anything. All he heard was happy conversations and some running water. It was a good day in Hell's Kitchen.

He had been patrolling for many nights now and the crime had gone done by 4%, which was an improvement. Even then, something wasn't right. He smelled gunpowder seventeen rooftops away. He ran to the location in a hurry.

When he reached the rooftop, he could smell nothing but gunpowder. Multiple cases of weaponry and a little bit of explosives. He chuckled when someone came up from behind.

"You hungry, Red?" Frank chuckled as he tossed him a hotdog, "Got it from a small shop down there. It tastes great."

"Thanks, Frank." Matt said as he took a seat on an air conditioning unit. He took a bite on the hotdog and he liked it. "I like it. You should buy more of these when you have the chance."

Frank chuckled and grabbed his sniper, "So, how are the others? Nelson, Karen."

"Foggy's doing fine. He's gotten a good job which pays more than we had in Nelson and Murdock." Matt said, as he finished his hotdog.

"That guy had one hell of an opening statement in the court. Good thing he found a good paying job." Frank said as he drank some coffee, "And Karen?"

"We're not in speaking terms." Matt sighed as he looked onto the stars, "We weren't really meant for each other."

"Oh yeah..." Frank laughed and thought of something, "How about the P.I.? What was her name ag-"

"Jessica Jones." Matt cut Frank off and he chuckled, "We are interesting."

"This interesting?" Frank showed a photo of him and Jessica walking down the street while drinking coffee. "I'm sorry but I'm bored sometimes."

"Yeah," Matt chuckled, "that interesting. So, what are you doing up here-" Matt looked at the building with a glass roof below, "Or down there?"

"Irish." Frank said and Matt looked at him. "I know. Non-fatal wounds and everyone is arrested by the police."

"Good." He smiled. "You want me to help you with this?"

"Sure. Help wouldn't hurt. "Frank got to his sniper position. Matt climbed down while Frank was recon.

Matt dropped down onto the rooftop and looked through the window. There were seven men armed and waiting for someone. He slowly opened the roof and quietly dropped down. No one noticed him and Matt took down three of them silently. He waited for the other four to show what they were waiting for. He was waiting on top of the metal beam.

Then the door opened and four other men entered the room. Three of them were armed and one of them had a briefcase. He dropped down and all eight of them looked at him in fear. He could tell all of their heartbeats were raised by a lot.

"It's the Daredevil! Shoot the bastard!" The man said.

Two men walk towards Matt with batons and he smiled. He blocked the first one with his arm and grabbed his baton. He hit the other man with the baton. He got hit in the face by a punch and he lost his balance a little bit. He grabbed the man by the arm and broke it. The man's bone was showing and he laid him on the floor.

"Don't just stand there! Get him!"

The five other men ran towards Matt and they started a brawl. He grabbed one and threw him at the group. He punched and kicked through the group and he started feeling fatigue. He missed a punch and one of them shot him in the chest. Luckily, his suit blocked the shot.

There were two left and they were both ex-military. One of them grabbed him by the chest and threw him to the other. He got punched in the head and he felt the mask crack a little. The stronger man punched him in the mouth and blood gushed out. He did the only thing that could save him. He spat blood onto the man's face and the man was blindsided. He threw a gun at him and kicked him in the face to knock him out. The last one punched him twice and his mouth was bruised. He dodged the third punch and knocked the man out after punching him in the chest followed with a punch to the neck.

"Oh God! Oh God!" The man with the briefcase tried to run but Matt strapped him to a chair with a chain.

"So, you stay tight and wait for my friend to ask the questi-" Matt was cut off when he smelled something.

"Put your hands up!" A Irish man said as he entered the room with seven other men. They all aimed at the Daredevil, their guns cocked, "Don't make me say it twice."

Frank was still at the top of the building and finishing his coffee. He used his sniper and saw the eight Irish men pointing their guns at Matt. He held his breath and whispered something before he shot.

"One batch, two batch, penny and..." Frank chuckled and shot the man pointing at Daredevil in the lower chest, "dime."

All of seven men started shooting at Daredevil. Matt turned his back and all the bullets ricocheted off his body. Frank started taking them down one by one. When he did, Matt chuckled.

"Nice job, Red. I know you can hear me. I'll be down there. You can go." Frank whispered and Matt could hear it.

Matt exited the building using the roof and ran off. He got his phone out and called 911. After that, he got a message from Jessica and he chuckled.

"Stop by for some beer tomorrow and then bed."

--Rand Enterprises--

Robbie entered the elevator of the building and went to the floor where Danny told him to be. This was the first time he was visiting and he has to hand it to Danny because the interior was nice. Paintings and all the high tech stuff. The security was high at this time because of the incident that happened earlier.

He reached the crime scene and Luke and Danny were already standing there. It looked like Colleen was there also but he couldn't tell. He walked over to Danny and patted him on the back.

"What the hell happened here?" Robbie sighed when he asked.

"Well. One of my best workers got stabbed in the chest multiple times and the knife was in another worker's hand," answered Danny, placing his hand on his head, "I should call Matt."

"You should." Robbie said when he took another glance at the crime scene. "When did this encounter happen?"

"Around midnight. They were working late shifts and the footage was also deleted during that time which helps more!" Danny sarcastically said and punched a table over.

Everyone looked at Danny and he said sorry. Luke wasn't going to stop him because he might accidentally release the Iron Fist on him. But Colleen walked over to Danny and silenced him.

"We need to find out who did this and fast." Luke said.

"No, we ain't going to do that. Leave that to Matt because he's going to do it and quick." Robbie thought of another plan, "Why don't we give Shades a visit? I heard another gun trade was going down in Harlem in a few days."

Luke thought of it for a second but gave in to his idea, "When is the deal going down?"

"That's the problem," Robbie sighed," I don't know."

"It's going to go down at eleven o'clock, probably. Shades like doing trades in the dark." Luke said.

--Josie's Bar--

Matt chuckled when Jessica drank her fourth bottle of MaCallan's. He was still amazed with the power of her drinking so many cups of beer and she still manages to think straight. She smiled at him when he was looking at the counter because she knew that he was thinking about her.

"So, Devil Boy, what did you do earlier tonight?" Jessica whispered and chuckled in his ear, "I hope it wasn't something naughty."

They both broke into laughter and he smiled once again. He couldn't stop thinking about her when she's away but when they are face to face, he feels like- something else. He doesn't feel uncomfortable like with Karen and Elektra, not even close. He was actually having fun.

"Hey!" Jessica shouted and he jumped a little. "I'm sorry."

"You don't have to be." Matt said but he remembered the question, "I just met up with Frank and dealt with some Irish mobsters."

"Good. I thought you were sleeping with someone." Jessica laughed.

"You know the only person I've been sleeping with is you, right?" Matt said. He couldn't hold it to himself but he had to lie. His relationship with Jessica was near perfect and he didn't want to mess it up because he slept with Elektra. The girl they fought in Midland Circle.

"Speaking of bed..."
