Day 1

I wake up the worse way possible, being shaken by my own brother.

"Aubrey wake up! It's two in the afternoon!"

"Let me sleep."

"Didn't you hear me? It's two in the afternoon." I moaned and sat up, running my eyes.

"Alright, alright, I'm up. Calm down."

"You didn't change into pajamas?"

"No." Another slap on the back of the head.

"Dude, I'm going to get head trauma or something if you keep hitting me in the back of the head!!" I joked.

"Says the lazy one."

"I'm not lazy!"

"Sure." Jackson literally pulls me out of bed, and I fall onto the hard wooden floor.

"Dude! Geez! Ouch!" I said, slowly getting up.

"You better stop otherwise imma call the cops on ya!" I said, joking again.

"Ha ha. Very funny Aubrey." Jackson said sarcastically. He walked out and I think he started to make breakfast-er-lunch. I don't know. I closed my bedroom door and grabbed grandmother's book again, the rubies and garnets glowing brightly from the sunlight.

I sat down on the floor and opened the cover, a white envelope fell from the book to my lap, I read it.

To Aubrey
From Grandmother Hope

I opened the letter.

Dear Aubrey,
By now, I'm probably passed on and you are now opening this book. I'm glad. I hope my granddaughter will experience what I have in my whole life. It isn't bad, I promise.

Now, once you open the first page, something will happen.

But I just want you to know that I love you and your brother, and I'm always watching you in heaven.

-Grandmother Hope

A tear fell down my cheek.

"I'm glad. I'm glad that you are happy for us." I said.

Before I could open the first page, Jackson knocked on the door.

"Hey, lunch is here." I made a fist in my hand and slammed the wooden floor.

"Alright, I'm coming." I put the letter back in the book and closed it, setting it on my bed.

3rd person point of view.

As Audrey left the room, she closed the door, walking towards her brother.

Once the door was closed, a white deer appeared and came into her room, looking around.

Its antlers were a beautiful ivory white, its fur was a snowy white, and it's eyes were a ruby red, but the only problem is that it wasn't alive. It was dead. Due to greedy hunters who just wanted to get rich quick. Filthy animals.

The deer looked at the book, he knew who was ready. He knew she's going to open it today. He knows all.

Back to 1st person point of view ^•^

I was sitting on the table, eating some McDonald's chicken nuggets with honey mustard. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't that good either. They were warm. The thought of the nuggets made me wrinkle my face.

"What's wrong now?"

"Nothing, just the warm chicken nuggets."

"Oh stop complaining."

"How about next time you ask for 'fresh' nuggets then?" He groans and takes a sip of his soda, I snicker and continue to eat.

Everything was fine until I heard a little chime of a bell.

"Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"The little bell."

"No."

"You must be going deaf."

"And you must be going crazy."

"Am not."

"Are to."

"Am not."

"What are you? Five?"

"No! Seventeen!"

"Don't act like it."

"I can act childish if I want to!"

Another chime.

"We'll see about that."

"Fine, I'll be right back." I got up and headed to my room.
'I coulda sworn that there was a bell.' I thought to myself. When I opened the door, nothing was there.

"Must be my imagination." I closed the door and began to walk away again, until the third time, the bell rang.

"Alright," I said, opening my door wide open. "It's not funny. Come out right now." Silence. I looked out of my window and saw, again, nothing. I groaned and slammed the door closed.

"Why me?" I said, grabbing the book. When I opened the book, the envelope and a note fell out.

"Wha?" I said grabbing it and reading it.

Open the book.

"Uh, I was going to, but not anymore."
More writing appeared on the note.
"What the hell?"

Please Aubrey, open the book.

"I said no!" The paper fiercely shook.

Open. The. Book. Now. Aubrey.

I could feel the shivers running up and down my spine, like it was a little race back and forth.

"What happens when I do?" I said to the note. Looking idiotic.

Nothing.

No answer, no reply, nothing. I took a deep breath and opened the book more.

"Here I go." I said.

Once I opened the first page, it began flipping more and more pages by itself, I tried to scream, but something kept my voice behind.

Once it got to the middle of the book, a bright light flashed and blinded me. All I could see was white for the shortest period of time.

Was I dead for that short period of time?

I blinked my eyes a few times and looked around, the same scenery, same furniture, same deer- Wait. Deer? I looked at him.

Hello child, please do not fear, for I am not an enemy.

My eyes widen. This deer was HUGE!

You can call me whatever you would like, but I am here to guide you through what your grandmother wanted me to do on her behalf.

"You are a dude right?"

I can be anything that you like my young lady.

"Oh. How about a wolf?" He nodded and knelt down even more, antlers sinking into his head, ears growing sharper, tail growing longer and curving, height going lower, teeth growing sharper, and yet, still a beautiful white. He stood up again and looked at me.

What shall you call me young lady?

I smiled and jumped up and down.

"This is so exciting!!!!" I thought for a moment.

"Ugh, what could I call you?" I said.

"Wait, what did my grandmother call you?"

Acacius.

"A what?"

Acacius.

"I'm just going to learn how to pronounce that."

It is Latin my lady.

"Latin? Nice. So, my grandmother is..." I said waiting for an answer.

She is just like you my lady. She is nothing else than a mere Shift Mistress.

"A Shift Mistress?"

Yes my lady, it is something your ancestors and grandmother had.

"Can guys get this too?"

No, it is simply called a Shift Mistress for a special reason my lady.

"Oh." I looked at the time.

"It's already eleven! I gotta get some sleep dude."

Acacius.

"Whatever! I got to sleep, are you just going to stare at me?"

Of course not my lady, I will not do anything to make you uncomfortable, but there is one problem...
