authors pov

00:07 AM. THE DEPTHS OF THE OCEAN

it all happened so fast. she was pushed and now she's falling. but she's already dead. she didn't know how to swim. she doesn't know how far she's been falling for. but she wouldn't know how long she's been falling for. because she's dead. 

she looks so peaceful with all the cool colours of the water surrounding her. 

fishes and dolphins circle her as she gracefully lands to the bottom, the sandy earth of the sea disrupted by her touch. sharks come to inspect her, seeing no threat or no prey. there's something different about this one. 

maui swims to the bottom of the ocean, brown eyes going wide at the lifeless girl. he opts to go closer to her but the sea animals growl at him, narrowing their eyes. 

why are they protecting her? maui looks down to his tattoo who shrugs. what could they do? maui puts his hands up to show that he's no harm as he swims closer and closer to the girl. he watches at the sea animals, chitter among each other as they move away from the girl, allowing him to pick her up. she's so light in his hands. he swims up, quite quickly, i will add, making it to the surface in record time. he gasps, taking in oxygen as he looks up to the sky. 

"please...help her," and the gods listened. 

maui looks down, seeing how the girl is returning to life. her skin colour comes back, her face goes fuller. the ocean rises them both, forcing them onto an island. mini maui squeaks, peering at the girl. a long thin spear appears in her hand as she scrunches up her face. she lets out a breath, her water coloured blue eyes opening.
