"If the ocean is a raging storm, pain or anger is the cause"

49|THE LARGEST PREDATOR

The creature is no more, a single one amongst millions of them. Still, it is the start of victory. Thousands upon thousands of the Mermaid soldiers have fallen in battle, their lives sacrificed for the greater good and fighting for their King and Queen. Isolde sharply exhales as she stares at the very spot where she has slain the dark creature. Until her eyes catch something far worse than anything which her eyes have seen in her entire life. Her face falls as she drops the sword in her hands and runs towards Ahmeya as she lies on the ground.

The tears in her emerald green eyes have begun to sting her eyes. For the single moment, nothing in the world is more important than her friend. The war seems to be the furthest thing around her. Running past bodies as well as creatures, she kneels down beside Ahmeya. A pang forms in her heart, so painful that even her entire body has begun to feel agony. The pain where she has been struck from the war is neither important nor can Isolde feel it. "No, no, no, no, no" Isolde chants to herself as she looks for any sort of sign that her friend lives.

Searching and searching and still unable to find anything. Not even a single heartbeat from her. Even the ocean can feel that her life has left her. A sob escapes past Isolde's lips as she holds her friend against her chest. The rage inside her rises with each passing second. The sorrow is strong and it is true. Nothing like it has the girl ever felt in her life, nothing like this has she felt, and she swears to herself that never again will she have to endure this pain ever again in her life.

The pain so deep and so true that it becomes even difficult to breathe. The world spins around her, and the war which happens around her is not even there at all. Her eyes close as tears run down her cheeks. Rocking back and forth, Isolde holds Ahmeya close to her. Wishing that she does not have to let go of her ever again. "It cannot be" Her whispering voice speaks, breaking and cracking while she speaks. The tone so sorrowful that even the ocean could feel it, and it carries it towards the King who fights with all his might.

The world is unfair and it is cruel. It is horrible, and it is nothing but a tragedy. The world is wicked and evil. Still, it is the world she were born into. Isolde has seen the darker side of the world, she has seen death, and she has seen cruelty. At the same time, the young Queen has seen kindness and the bright joy of the world. The ocean is hers and despite how it has been through much, the ocean has taught her something. The ocean is the happiness and sorrow at the same time. The ocean has seen death and seen births.

And now it has seen the death of a very dear friend of the Queen. With each and every tear that runs down her cheeks, the ocean grows stronger. The emotions that live inside Isolde are coming out. The rage, the sorrow, the happiness, the memories. Everything is coming out. Water holds much and as the world is her witness. She is letting all her feelings out of her body. Queen Isolde is about to show the world that she can be broken down, and she can be hurt, and still she will rise, and she will stand tall with her head high and rule.

Slowly, she steps Ahmeya down and opens her eyes. Stares at the chaos that is happening around her. The rage inside her growing to the point where it is even becoming too much for her body to be able to take. Using the ground to support herself while she stands up, Isolde stands there for a second. One single tear leaks down her face and blends with the ocean's waves. Choking back a sob, she clenches her fists in anger. Her feelings are all around her and controlling her actions.

The ground shakes violently before a gigantic ravine forms when the ground splits apart. The darkness down there has formed, and yet from the depth life emerges. Something, something terrifying and so large, comes from the darkness. With a hard look on her face, Isolde takes one step and allows her body to fall into the ravine. The ocean softens her fall, guiding her to the place where she wishes to go. Where, the very creature that comes from the depth catches her on its back and carries her back up towards the battle that rages across the ocean.

The sword she had left on the ground is carried with the waves towards the Queen as she stands on top of the back of the Megalodon. Holding herself standing by the fin that is larger than her entire body, much taller and much thicker. She stands in front of the fin, holding herself with it. Her hand holds the sword in her hand once it has reached her, and she has set her sight on every single dark creature that is around her. The Megalodon is the largest shark that has ever swum across the ocean, and the biggest and the most terrifying creature that has ever existed.

The bloodthirsty creature's eyes are red as blood, and the razor sharp teeth are powerful enough to cut through bone with ease. The strongest predator that has ever lived has been freed from its prison, and it is prepared to slaughter all those that would threaten its Queen, which it now serves. "They can be killed, and they can be destroyed" She speaks. Her voice raging with fury. The ocean carries it to every single Mermaid that still lives and still is able to fight, for now they are given hope.

Hope is one of the strongest powers that has ever comes across this earth for with it, there is something to fight for. That way they will fight harder, quicker, stronger. The Queen's emerald green eyes glow brighter than they have ever done before. Her whole body has begun to slightly glow, the faint glow is not the only thing that attracts attention to her. Each one on the battlefield have noticed the predator that carries the Queen on its back and circles the creatures. The dark sand creatures will fall by their hand, and the war will be won.

The King is one of those that has taken noticed to his Queen. Even through the sorrow of losing his own, he finds himself proud of her and what she has done. The sad truth of how she got there, but even Poseidon knew it had to be done. Ahmeya's death was the noble sacrifice that will bring them to victory. She spoke of it herself. Every war has a death count. She simply was on that side of the war, and her life will be celebrated, and her death will be mourned until the end of all time.

His Trident moves with ease as he and it become one. Fighting and killing those creatures. Doing all he can to save those that he can. To protect the world as he protects the ocean. "My King. Look!" Someone speaks, one of his warriors. Making the King stab a creature and turn his head. Right where the Mermaid had directed his gaze, the Queen on the Megalodon swim. Her sword cuts through the creatures that attempt to destroy her. She is unscathed from anything, they cannot touch her, and they cannot harm her. She is invincible. Isolde is the Queen, and she has followed her destiny.

But, it is not all that Poseidon's ocean eyes are able to see, for beyond her, farther away and still visible is the blackest cloud. It is slowly coming their way. He cannot sense it, and he cannot determine what it is, and yet he knows that it is the very thing that controls this army. And the thing that they need to defeat to be able to win this war that they have found themselves in. Isolde has come across it, and slowly she as well makes her towards the cloud of pure darkness.

The Megalodon's mouth snaps at any creature that it can, snaps them in half and destroys them in an instant. Being one of the few things that is able to kill them. They disappear, much like they do when Isolde and Poseidon use their weapons. His eyes catch her eyes, and he nods at her. The eye contact between King and Queen is the shortest of them all, and still it is enough for the both of them. Isolde gives him a slight nod before she continues. The creatures target her more than they do the Mermaid army, and therefore abandon their position to attack the Queen.

Isolde swings the sword with all her power, no matter how tired and exhausted her body has become. No matter how much she wishes to give up. The anger in her is the only thing that keeps her still fighting. What happened to her friend and what has happened to those that trusted her to lead them. The Mermaids have this trust in her and only her to lead them to a greater future, instead they die for her and for what she believes in. Their deaths are on her, and yet they are on the darker force that tries to destroy them.

The heart in her body still beats, and it shows her that she's alive. That she is the one that has to lead them through this, that with each beat of her heart, no matter how weak or strong it is, it shows she's alive, and she's strong. The strength inside her will lead herself forward and therefore the entire army. "I believe" She whispers to herself. Isolde does not say anything else but those words, it's enough for her. The words flow through the ocean and lets each and every one know that the Queen believes.

A creature so dark is in front of her. It carries no heart and no soul, and it believes in nothing at all. As if the creature is nothing but an empty shell of what could have been. The dark man like creatures are not beings at all, but rather things that can be killed, and they can be destroyed. The emerald eyed Queen has seen them be slain by her and will fight each and every one of them if that is what it will take to end all of this, to end this war and bring forth what once was.

The world that she once knew will never be again, it will never be what it was. It will become something else, what that will be, she will have to discover with time. However, a war has to be won before any of that has even the slightest bit of chance to become anything at all. Isolde has set her eyes upon a cloud that she will soon destroy, but first she will have to aid those that she leads. Their lives mean something, and not is she about to let more fall in this war.

Exhaling out a breath, a short breath until she has to take a sharp breath. The lungs inside her chest have been aching for air, as she's getting so little from her quick breathing. Her tired body is almost giving up, it is her anger as well as her stubbornness that keeps her standing. The ocean does help her a lot, it holds her body and makes it possible that she is able to stand up. The Megalodon swims at a quick pace and the waves push hard against her and threaten to tear her down.

The ocean may help her and be there for her for it knows she is the Queen, but even when the ocean is there to aid her, it does work like it always does. When one goes forward in the ocean, the ocean will push back. It is the very thing that the ocean cannot change, not even for the Queen. It lessens the blow at her, but it cannot stop the force itself. The ocean knows what is at stake, and it cannot bend the rules, not all the time. Her legs are burning from standing on the shark.

Keeping herself standing on something that moves with the ocean blowing back against her body as well has holding as sword in her hands and fighting against one of the evils in the world and let alone having lost the friend that has been there for her from the beginning, is enough to make one break. Isolde has always been strong, and she has remained tough and stubborn, yet even the strongest people in the entire world can break, and they can have vulnerable moments. The Queen of the Deep Blue is one of those people, strong on the outside but soft on the inside.

A shockwave runs through the battlefield when a loud, ear-piercing growl comes from the castle. From the distance behind the castle, when her eyes stare at it, a large snake like creature comes into view. The creature Isolde knows all too well, for she was the one that released it from its icy prison. Scylla's body moves through the ocean. When the creatures do all they can to slice the body of the sea serpent, they fail. Their weapons break. The sea servant is quick to kill all that he comes across, even some of them being the Mermaids that fight for the very same thing that Scylla does.

The smallest smirk comes across Isolde's face when she watches the scene far away. She has allies that the darkness had no idea about, and with those allies she will become victories. Her body is prepared for what she does next as she jumps from the shark onto the ground below. The Megalodon does not worry for her, and yet it stays close by her. Circling her in large circles. Taking on any creature that she cannot reach, or does not see. The creatures become at her more and more, the numbers increasing in the creatures and when she is alone, it becomes far too much for.

Landing on the ground, her feet take a blow. None of that matters. When she is already bleeding, hurt and in agony. None of that matters. She thinks only of the subjects that she has to fight for and the world that will fall if she were to fall. Isolde thinks of how if she cannot lose the man that she has fallen for. She has lost too much, and she cannot lose anymore, she refuses to lose anymore.

Her parents never believed that much in her, she was the troubled child. She was someone that God was embarrassed to have brought into a Royal family. Her entire childhood, she stood out from the rest. Never truly knowing that her life would always be different than theirs. She was always meant for greater things. If God had planned this war and put her as the one that has to lead it, then God has a plan for her and perhaps those are the greater things that God had planned for her, and she has to overcome.

The sword becomes heavier the longer her fingers have to hold it, her entire body is burning from pain. Nearly falling back down, she eyes a creature. Isolde is slower than she had been, but she still is able to lift the sword and swing it at the creature and cut through it. The sand creature disappears right in front of her, where it becomes nothing at all. As if the creature had never existed. The Queen does not dwell much on the questions of how that creature came to be, how she is able to destroy it and what it is. All of it will have to wait.

"You cannot come into my kingdom and seize it as your own. I will fight to my very last breath!" She speaks. Fighting harder than before. With the anger inside her, and the anger that she cannot keep buried within her. The sorrow that she felt is turned into rage, and the rage is turned into her actions. Venting out the feelings inside her. The ocean feels that she must let those feelings out of her body, and by doings so she rids the world of creatures that never should have been true.

None of the creatures that are around her respond to her, nor even appear like they understood her at all. She does not care. There are about a dozen creatures around her. Trapping her. There would be more if the sea creatures would not be there to aid her. They, however, do also help the Mermaids with their battle. No matter if the Mermaids are terrified of them, they still aid them, and they help them with what they can. Saving their lives while doing so. For them to continue to fight for the same cause as the sea creatures do. For their King and Queen and their kingdom.

Isolde's clothes are blood, and she is bleeding heavily from the wounds that she has suffered. Losing that much blood as well as the trauma that she has suffered on the outside as well as inside, and with the heavy labor that she's doing, is slowly brining her closer to death. It is not the first time that Isolde has been close to death, and it might be the last time. And yet, she continues to fight for her life. Fighting for what she believes in and fighting for what is right.

She's locked in a circle, leaving the poor girl surrounded by the enemy. Queen Isolde does all that she can to fight them all. More and more of the evil creatures come to her. A blade slices through her forearm, creating a large gash on her arm. Leaving her bleeding even more, her body losing more blood than she can take. Black spots have begun to form around her, form where she cannot see most of the things that happens around her. Isolde can feel every pain that enters her body. And she feels when a sword pierces through her stomach and impales her.
