Milo's POV

I've always had a problem with connecting to people. Mostly because I couldn't hear them. I couldn't understand what they said.

But I could hear her. I listened to her. Maddie influenced my senses to where I could be blind and see her. I was deaf, and I could hear her.

It took me 1 day to ask her to be my girlfriend and now its been months and I continue to love her more each day. In 2 months, after I bring her home I will ask her to be my wife.

"Milo!" Amber was shouting next to me as we saw the light from a gunshot on the top floor of the hotel Maddie was staying at.

"Maddison!"

You know that moment when your life seems to slow down. You're running up the stairs after the police, who I guess where called earlier for breaking and entering in another apartment. I could only feel the breath in my lungs gone and my stomach in a knot.

I barged into the room to only see one body.

Amber's POV

I ran after my brother, my stomach tight and sick. What if Maddie was dead. Milo would never forgive himself for not getting here sooner. Or he would blame me for not telling him I knew where Maddie was.

Police were holding him out of the room when I had gotten upstairs.

"He's deaf!" I yelled at the police who were all crowding Milo.
