"Oh my god, seriously Dallas? I am going to New York for the internship, and it is an opportunity I don't want to miss." Sophia said.

"I know. The only people that are ready to go are the ones who are already going." I said.

"And for all we know, this could be a time waste as well. I mean the related to past thing is just a theory." Brandon said. He REALLY didn't want to go.

"But guys, what about all that it is related to Bryce and stuff." Ryder said.

"I know but I seriously don't want to go to that wrecked place." Brandon said impatiently.

"Sophia and Kio can't go obviously but both of you can." Reagan said pointing to Brandon and me.

"We could, but I really want to meet my family." I said realizing that they didn't really care. But I really missed my family. Before all this they were the closest thing I had to friends. They were there when no one ever was. The love I had with them; I knew that I could never share with someone else. Anything they did would never turn me against them.

"Brandon and Vanessa both can go but don't want to because of their family." Reagan said.

"Both of them for the opposite reasons." Kio stated.

"Duh!" I said.

"Ok for once, even if we go how would the college allow us to do so. It's like twelve days away." Brandon said.

"Oh honey! That is why we are made." Sophia said.

"So, you guys have already decided that we are going?" I said frustrated.

"You could say that." Ryder said.

"Then I think we are going. Brandon?" I said.

"Fine, whatever." He replied.

Though I had agreed to go, I didn't really want to. One whole month of not staying with my family. Telling them about the same. Then shifting my whole internship to an entirely different city with people I had just known for a couple of weeks.

I went back to my room half disheartened and video called my family. Noah and Alex (Alexandra) picked up.

"Hey guys, what are you doing?" I said hoping that they would not bring up about the internship.

"Hey baby! I am just completing a design to show to some clients in the following week." Alex was a fashion designer; she was eight years elder to me. So, acted like my mother when mom was not there. For her I was her baby.

"I am just filling files of the completed cases. What about you nessy?" that's what everyone else called me back home. Noah was five years older to me and a detective as well. Though he was at local level right now. He was expecting a promotion from the central government very soon.

"Nothing, I just called to inform...that I am no longer coming to Greensville for the internship." I said.

"Oh, that's a bummer. Why but?" Noah asked.

"Because I am going to Dallas." I answered.

"We didn't know that you would already start ditching us for your new boyfriend." Alex exclaimed.

"What boyfriend?" Noah said almost getting up and taking his role for the overprotective brother.

"Shut up Alex, I have no boyfriend. Actually, not even close to one." I said.

"You better." Noah said.

"Oh, you shut up! So, you telling me you are not going to Dallas with Brandon. Wait I remember stalking him on insta. He IS from Dallas." Alex said.

"Yes, I am and not for the reason you think. And you guys are unbelievable. I told you the thing I wanted to tell you. Bye."

"Wait Vanessa. For solving that murder, who is the detective they have send." Noah asked. I used to call my family atleast once so they knew everything that was going on in my life.

"Why do u ask? Anyways, it is some Christian Obrien." I said.

"He and I were best buddies when we were training. He is just my age and has been assigned that big of a case. That is surprising." He said slouching a little.
"The world is small. It really is." I said ending the video call.
Then as I was shutting my laptop, I got a email with a subject 'EMERGENCY 🚨'
