“Are you okay?” The figure asked Vincent whil Vincent stood up immediately, “T-thanks for saving me, I guess?” Vincent said with an awkward chuckle, The person stayed silent and silently observed Vincent after a good minute that felt like forever to Vincent, the figure finally spoke

“Well…yeah, no problem, take care” The person said with a small bow before turning around and leaving Vincent behind, before the figure can even go far, Vincent immediately ran after the Person

“L-look, I'm in a very bad position right now, and i need someone, please, let me go with you” Vincent said in a panic, desperation can be seen in his actions and expression, The person stopped in their tracks before looking at Vincent

Ariadne POV

‘He's really weird…’ I said in my mind as I silently observed his desperate attempt to go with me, is he a Foe or a friend?
“You're teammates left you for a reason” I said bluntly, i don't really care about anyone as of this moment and I'm not exactly going to have some company now or in the future

“I know! I know…they left me because i got distracted, and…and I'm weak, but please, I'm desperate, i want to live” The boy said as he knelt down in front of me, I looked at him confused, I'm feeling very awkward as i looked at him

“I…i know that I'm just an extra mouth to feed but please, i just need to live, you…you can use me however you like” The boy said as tears started streaming down his face, “Yeah, you're weak” I said bluntly with little to no emotion

“You shouldn't let other people decide what happens to you when you hit a wall, you decide whether you want to break that wall or jump over it” I said as i looked down at his crying figure, i let out a sigh before stepping away from him

Then i heard footsteps right behind me, i turned to look at him “I…i have decided, I'm going to follow you” He said determinedly, if this was in an anime, i would see some sparkles around him, i shrugged before walking away again

“So what's your name? Do you have a favorite movie? How old are you?” The boy continuously asks with a small smile as he wiped his tears, i let out a sigh ‘This is going to be a whole day’

3rd POV

“Mhh…it's been like forever since I've eaten meat” Vincent said but his voice is muffled by the food he's currently chewing
“It's frog meat” Ariadne said in a deadpan tone, Vincent stopped chewing for a solid minute as he looked at Ariadne, before chewing again “That's fine, when you're hungry, you do everything to eat some food” Vincent said after swallowing the food

“Oh and thanks for taking me here” Vincent said with a bright smile, Ariadne took him to her hideout of some sort, it's just a small rundown shop in the middle of the street. Ariadne put more wood at the bonfire she made “Right! You didn't answer any of my questions” Vincent said as he looked at Ariadne

“You had a shit ton of questions that i didn't know what to answer” Ariadne deadpanned as she looked at him “Oh, right, sorry, my bad” Vincent said with a sheepish smile “Well, let's introduce ourselves, my name is Vincent, Vincent Huxley, 17 years old turning 18 soon” Vincent said with a smile as he scooted closer to Ariadne to see her face as the hood is still covering her face

“What..?” Ariadne said as she looked at Vincent ‘He is really weird…’ She thought as she looked at him “Your name?” Vincent said as he gave her a close eye smile, Ariadne sigh before taking her hood off, her dark eyes met Vincent's obsidian ones “...Ariadne, Ariadne Hartz” Ariadne said stoically as she turned her head away, feeling quite awkward meeting another person

“Hm? You look a bit like my mom” Vincent said as he tilted his head in confusion while observing Ariadne's face “Your mom? Is that supposed to be a compliment or what?” Ariadne asks, no emotions can be seen on her face yet in her mind she was somewhat offended

“You looked like my mom, but at the same time, no?...well, my older sister Luna, looks exactly like my mom” Vincent said with a smile as he looked at Ariadne
“Yeah, i don't really care” Ariadne said as she rolled her eyes

“What happened?” Henry asked as he looked at Ayesha's crying face then looked at the three man behind her, His eyes widened in surprise when he couldn't get a sight of his younger brother

“Ayesha…what happened?...What happened?!” Henry exclaimed as he held Ayesha by the shoulder and looked at her
“We couldn't save him….” Wood muttered under his breath while Ayesha cried even harder and hugged Henry “Vincent…He's gone, I'm sorry” She said in between her sobs as Henry hugged her back, tears welled up in his eyes, he couldn't believe that his younger brother is dead

Henry’s sadness is mixed up with fear and curiosity, Fear and curious on how their family would react especially their parents and uncles, it's been a year since the apocalypse started, and it also has been a year since they saw their parents, it’s a heartbreaking thought and fact for Henry, that their family reunion wouldn’t be as happy as he thought.

“Wow! You're so cool! You killed those zombies with just your kick, no guns included!” Vincent exclaimed in amazement as he looked at Ariadne with admiration. Ariadne sweat dropped and could only scratch her cheek awkwardly as she looked at him.

Both of them are on the empty streets of City Z, Ariadne planned on looking for more food since Vincent is now her ‘Companion on the ship’ that Vincent forcefully claimed and also because Vincent ate all her food reserve, which is Rat meat. Since Ariadne wanted to find food, Vincent followed her and on the way, they were ambushed by a few dozen zombies that Ariadne killed by herself.

“Man, I totally panicked when i saw those zombies, i mean seriously, we don’t have ammo but i forgot that you’re like super amazing” Vincent said in excitement, he also made some exaggerated hand movements that made Ariadne even more awkward

“Uh thanks I guess?” Ariadne said feeling quite awkward by Vincent's exaggerated yet true praises

“Sorry, i might've sounded like a kid hehe” Vincent said with a sheepish smile as he scratch his head awkwardly, “I'm actually quite embarrassed, i mean I'm the Boy and I'm older than you, I'm supposed to protect you, not the other way around” Vincent said with an apologetic tone

“That's fine, we are only 2 years apart” Ariadne said blankly as she looked around, trying to find some sort of building to search, The 15 year old girl seems to be nonchalant and stoic most of the time which made Vincent admire her even more

“Let's try to move forward, just in case there's a small building or whatever that we can search” Ariadne said as she wiped some blood splatter on her face, Vincent nodded enthusiastically before holding Ariadne's arm “Let's go!” Vincent said with much enthusiasm as he followed Ariadne
