Chapter 1 : Cheshire valley

What do want to do in future?

Whenever anyone asked me that question I said that I just want to be happy and free on my own.

                                                                    .  .  .

"Miss  Rachael, your parents left this envelope of money for you," the old maid of the house says. Mrs Smith has been working in that family for years now. Rachael smiles and takes the envelope from her.

"Thanks Mrs Smith. Did my parents already leave for work?"

"Yes. They left early and they told you to drive safely. And call them when you get there."

"Ok. Of course and take care of yourself too. No need for breakfast. I took some chocolate bars with them. I'm off," Rachael picks up her luggage and walk out of the door.

Cheshire valley. A suburb in New Zealand. Suburbs with natural features are always exceptionally cold during winter. And it's a house legitimately in the middle of woods. It's been 4 years since she visited her grandma there. For some reasons, her parents want her to move to Cheshire valley and finish her studies of high school there. She loves nature and all so worked out good.

She drives through the empty street in her Mercedes gazing marvelous natural view outside. It's foggy outside but not that much to hamper my driving. The sun is apparently hidden because of the dark cold clouds and the music in the car gives the feeling of freedom life. After a road trip of 6 hours and few snacks break she reaches her destination  This house kinda reminds her of her childhood days. Not much houses nearby. Surrounded by mostly oak trees. Mist and fog all around. She walks to the door and knock. Soon after 2 minutes the door opens revealing her grandma. She squeals seeing my grandma and hug her tightly. She missed her so much. Like VERY much.

"Look at what a beautiful girl you have become!" Her grandma looks at her smiling proudly.

"Not more than you," she giggles and goes inside with her luggage. As soon as she enters the house, smell of her favorite foods hits her nostrils. Just how much she missed her grandmas dishes. She takes her luggage to her room and get fresh quickly. She runs downstairs as her stomach was grumbling because of hunger. And as expected, it's always all fun when grandma is around.

. . .

At 9 pm. [Rachael's point of view]

I flip through albums of my childhood pictures. It's really foggy outside. And oh I remember there's a river near this house. I should go take a walk. I wear my jacket and walk outside. There's cold wind all around. I don't know why I'm outside right now instead of my cozy warm bed but whatever. Sandstone river. I missed this place. The river bank. Glowing water of the river in moonlight. Everything. Nothing much really changed around here. The sky is full of stars and a crescent moon. I sit down in middle of a large rock by the river bank. It feels amazing with cold breeze against my face.
The sound of the water in river flowing and a calm silence all around. Yup the best moment in my life. I look around admiring the view and see someone standing at a distance from me. He walks towards the river, picks up a stone from ground and does stone skipping with it. He has a tall nice figure wearing a trouser and comfy black jacket. I can't see him clearly from here but I'm curious. Only if my life was like a sweet romantic novel, maybe he would walk to me. But nope. Things like that don't happen in reality. He talks on his phone quite a while and hangs up after 10 minutes.

I walk up to him actually walking towards my own house. He turns around and gives me a curious look. He has dark brown eyes and red hair. He looks cute not gonna lie. He gives me a sweet smile and lets out a hand for handshake, "Hi! I'm Aiden. What's you name?"

I smile back at him and shake his hand, "Rachael. Do you live near?"

"Yes. The house on left side of road from here. There aren't much houses here. What about you?"

"The house on right side of the road! I moved to this town just today so it's good having someone of same age as a neighbor."

"Of course! You can count on me on anything," he gives an assuring smile, "Hey come over at my place tomorrow at evening! It will be fun. Please?"

"Sure! I will be there," I smile at him too. He has has pure heart smile and really nice behavior. We talk for like 30 minutes and laugh a lot. It's first time I made a new friend so fast. Hope everything goes well later too.
