Chapter 1

Ochako Uraraka sat beside her mother's hospital bed.

The woman's breathing was steady and the heart monitor beeped at regular intervals. Ochako looked at her in worry. She hasn't woken up in months.

The brunette tried to be optimistic but a voice in her head whispered only the most hopeless of outcomes.

She looked out the window to see Tokyo under heavy weather again. The raindrops sliding down the glass, obstructing her view.

She hated it. Tokyo looked so dark and cold without the sun's radiance peeking through the cloudy covers.

Then, she saw it.

A ray of sunlighy broke through the clouds and shone onto a run down building.

Her mouth gaped open in surprise and she grabbed her transparent umbrella and ran towards her destination.

She stepped onto the roof of the building to see an old Torigate with plants and charms all at it's side.

She took a sharp intake of breath, taken aback by the sight. The sun shone behind the gate, making it look like it was glowing. She dropped the umbrella to her side and walked towards it. She clasped her hands together and closed her eyes as she passed through the torigate.

And she prayed.

"Please, Gods above, please. Let me walk together with my mother under the sun... for one last time!"

She opened her eyes and...

The wind.

She could hear the wind whistling as she felt herself fall.

She opened her eyes to find herself falling above the clouds!

Droplets of water flew upwards, defying gravity.

But wait, they weren't just droplets of water! They were-

"Fish?" Ochako whispered.

As she falls, she sees a grassy plain atop the clouds. Fish of water flying all around it.

And as she looked down, the clouds parted to reveal the city of Tokyo.

The sun shined down onto the city, bathing it in the warmth and radiance of the sun for the first time in forever.

Ochako could feel happiness as she fell.

Did she do this?

And suddenly... the world around her closed in on her as she fell unconscious.

She awoke once more with a jerk. She sat upright.

She was on the rundown with the Torigate.

She looked up, expecting to see the grey sky.

But all she saw was the beautiful blue sky, gracing the city.

Her eyes widened in surprise as a wide smile spread across her face.

She quickly got up and ran towards the hospital.
