Icicle and Blaze followed the boys as the four ran to a nearby park. Ponyboy was sobbing softly as he wiped his eyes.
"W-what happened Pony...?" Johnny asked shaken.
"I don't know man... Darry hit me. We use to get along just fine until mom and dad died now he can't stand me." Ponyboy sobbed softly.
"It'll be alright man... Calm down your scaring us." He gestures to the girls and himself.
"I'm sorry... Do you have a smoke Johnny?" Ponyboy wiped his eyes.
"Yeah, here." He handed him a cigarette and a lighter. He lit up as they continued to walk to the park. They all climbed up onto the monkey bars as a they noticed a blue mustang circling the park.
"Oh look who it is." Johnny whispered to Ponyboy.
"Probably looking for us we "tried to pick up their women." He quoted calmly. The car pulled up and the drunk men staggered out. The kids got down off of the monkey bars and stood below it as the drunk men walked up. Blaze stood in front of Icicle but behind Johnny as a source of protection.
"Oh look ain't it the kids that tired to pick up our women?" The blond one snarled.
"Y-you guys better watch it." Johnny threatened.
"No you better watch it." The taller black haired one snarled. 
"You know what a greaser is? White Trash." The blond there the alcohol onto Ponyboy.
"You know what a soc is?" Ponyboy remarked.
"What?" The taller one snarled.
"White trash with Mustangs." Then he spit at him. That set them off and they chased up. They dragged Ponyboy to the fountain, kicked Johnny down and held Blaze and Icicle. That's when it happened. They forced Ponyboy's head under the water and tried to drowned him. Johnny pulled a switch blade and ran up to the blond and stabbed him. He bled out and died. Johnny killed a man to save his best friend. Ponyboy passed out and Icicle clung to Blaze as the others ran off.
When Ponyboy finally woke up, he panicked and they went to Bucks to find Dally. Johnny explained what had happened and he sighed.
"Come inside. All you you." Dally sighed. He lead them up into a bedroom. He explained where they needed to go and how they got there.
Soon they got onto the train and waited. Ponyboy had fallen asleep with his head on Johnny's lap and Icicle crawled into her sisters and fell asleep. That left Johnny and Blaze awake.
