Part 1
"You know, today I'm going to see her after school," Rudhra confessed.
"But wait...how can this be? She's only allowed to go between school and home, nowhere else," Aman worried, puzzled by Rudhra's statement.
Rudhra grinned and playfully winked at Aman, leaving him curious and intrigued about their upcoming plan.
Aman is Rudhra's friend, was more frightened than curious about Rudhra's plans.
In the middle of their conversation, a teacher threw a duster their way to silence them.
After class, Aman rushed after Rudhra to find out how he had managed the situation.
So many thoughts raced through Aman's mind. Why would Suman want to meet Rudhra? He's good-looking and smart, but not Suman's type. She should be careful with what is happening in the current society and more than that she should be more careful when it comes to Rudhra. If something happens with Suman, then what? I know Rudhra; he can manipulate anyone.
At this point, my dislike for Rudhra is stronger than ever. Why Suman?
"Look, buddy, I don't think it's smart to meet her. You know her family and how strict they are," Aman tried to convince Rudhra.
"Relax, nothing bad will happen. She's my long shot, and I can't let this chance slip away," Rudhra saw Suman as a goal to achieve.
Despite his growing anger, Aman attempted to persuade Rudhra not to toy with Suman's emotions.
"Hold on! Why the concern? Are you hiding feelings for her?" Rudhra's question sounded more like a statement.
Aman quickly responded, "Me? No...absolutely not." His denial was swift and emphatic, but his thoughts may have told a different story.
Rudhra continued without waiting for Aman's response, "And even if you did have feelings, Suman wouldn't go for you. You're not her type. You're handsome, but that charm isn't there. You seem more obedient and nerdy, but girls these days are into the bad-boy image." Then he chuckled.
Aman felt stung, not by Rudhra pointing out his personality, as most of their classmates did the same, but by Rudhra's blunt remark that he wasn't Suman's type.
Aman attempted to advise Rudhra against playing with emotions, hoping to avoid becoming entangled in any future conflicts between Rudhra and Suman. "I agree," Aman affirmed. "I don't expect that, but I know you and Suman's family. I want no part in any future disputes."
"Relax, Aman, everything will be fine," Rudhra reassured Aman, who continued to be more concerned about Suman than Rudhra himself.
Now, Aman's last hope was to convince Suman not to go along with Rudhra's plans.
