I smiled at the thought when I realized I like him but does he like me back? maybe not?

The way he cares confuses me I feel safe with him his touch and his gift though I returned but it was enough that he thought of gifting me.

Ya Allah what's wrong with me and why is he on my mind all the time?

I jumped out of bed after checking the time I opened the curtains went to the bathroom did my business opened my bag and chose a long black beautiful Kurti with simple embroidery designs and tights I tied my niqab after applying a powder and eyeliner I prayed on myself and closed my room.

I waited and waited it was getting late it was already 7:45 am and where was Zahid today? will he come and pick me the way he has been doing since a week? I smiled at the thought I finally gave in the requested he would be taking me to his office.

I shrugged off all negative thoughts away he will come Zainab, have patience I know his schedule today he doesn't have meetings just one after lunch.

I smiled when I saw a figure approaching near but all my smile disappeared my face became pale when I saw clearly who it was, his mum my evil grumpy aunt who was smiling evilly.

What did she want now?

"Waiting for my son?" she asked without even a simple greeting and I just stood there.

"Your no means yes you are waiting for him," she answered her own question then why did she ask I felt like laughing but I controlled.

I respect her mum always taught me to have patience and respect elders.

She grabbed my wrists and was twisting and turning my hand it was paining but I stood there I didn't want to her to see me weak am sure her handmarks will be on my hand once she leaves.

"Stay away from my son," she said and left my hand immediately I covered my hands with sleeve which was long it hurt a lot.

She was smiling evilly and she smirked.

Rehmat started working so she wasn't available she was an accountant that's what uncle chef told me last night.

We both stood there in silence.

"One more thing Zahid has already left so take a cab and be on time for once," she clicked her fingers twice and left I just stared at her back.

Zahid just left without even a notice now he has my number he took it yesterday he requested he would be dropping me so he was avoiding me.

What was I expecting? him to wait every day and who was I?just from low-class maid to his assistance? I wiped my tears and rushed to take a cab once I entered I heard my old phone ringing.

I checked caller's name oh so he left and now he calls I picked it up...

"Where the hell are you damnit?we have a lot of pending work today," his voice filled with rage he was yelling from another end.

"Am on my way," I said in a soft and calm voice and before I could say anything else he disconnected my call.

I hate to lift so I chose the stairs.

While I was heading towards his office I heard someone greeting me.

"Assalamualeikum," his voice was smooth and I replied.

"Waleikumsalam, "I replied while rushing.

"In a hurry I guess," he continued to talk to me while I responded in short.

"Yeah, "I replied to him and rushed I hope I don't fall ahh his floor was still far.

"I am Zainul I work on the fifth floor," he said as if wanting me to know where he works.

As if I will meet him again!!

"Okey, "I said ahh I felt tired because of rushing.
I have been using stairs since week I told Zahid I hate lifts and he agreed he used to go in lift and me from stairs.

"Can we be friends," he asked and I wondered why did he wanna be my friend since he hasn't even seen me or knows me?

I didn't reply.

"Please," he begged he seemed to be a good guy but I don't know I have just met him and I can't judge.

I nodded he said thanks and later he told me he and Zahid are best friends and he works with him moat of times and we were heading towards the same office our grumpy boss.

I knocked and we waited I stood at abit distance from Zainul.

"Come in," his deep rough voice was heard from another end.

"Ladies first, "Zainul gestured me with his hands to enter first and we both stood there.

Zahid never once glanced up he was busy with his laptop he didn't even see who has come I stared at him no matter how much I tried to convince myself to stay away I like him and it hurt to see him avoiding me like a plague.

I waited for him to say something he looked tired and still, he was on the laptop working he had bags under his eyes as if he didn't get enough sleep he was overworking himself and doesn't he care about his health.

I heard someone clearing their throat and I looked down shyly embarrassed may be Zainul caught me staring at his best friend.aghhh

"So busy? you have forgotten your best friend," Zainul complained and they gave hi5 to each other as if I was not even present.

It hurt a lot my heart ached Zahid was clearly avoiding me they were busy talking he was treating me like his mum now.

Fine be this way...

"See you soon," Zainul told him and I looked down not showing them that it hurt to see them avoiding me but what surprised me most was what Zainul did next and why did he say that it surely brought a reaction from Zahid.

"See you soon my new best friend," he said new best friend with a smile I stared at him in shock and saw Zahid clenching his fist when I stared back at Zainul he was smiling and he winked.

Ya Allah, these guys will make me go crazy!!!

Once we heard slamming of the door I waited for Zahid to say something he looked furious and why I have no idea since he was the one avoiding me.

He stood up and pushed the chair angrily he closed laptop roughly..poor laptop!!!

He came closet I made sure my sleeves were covering my wrists and moved back but he was still silent.

"What was all that?? best friend huh?" he asked and I stood silent so now he decides to talk.

"Not best friend but new best friend so you made a friend and making friends with me took you quite long," he said while touching my wrist the same which his mum held in the morning and it pained a lot so I jerked away immediately.

I stared at him and his eyes seemed dark he was now more than angry raising eyebrows.

"What was that?" he asked again but I chose to ignore and play dumb.

"Nothing, "I said in low voice but failed if I stay more I will break down.

"So now you have a new best friend and you flinch from my touch," he said and banged his the the the the the the the the the the the the the the fist on the wall next to me and he continued, "you say that's nothing damnit what's wrong with you?"

Why was he so mad? moody grumpy boss.
